What's In My Bag?

Avian has gathered her characters today for an interview. Oddly, she has instructed them to bring along their bags and pockets just as they would walk around their own neighborhood.

Before the interview, the characters were alone in the speaking lobby. Of course the girls and boys were separated by a veil and they had no idea who else was there in the room but the ones they could see.

Sana: when can we go home?

Sarah: just wait! I'm so excited for this interview!

Maryam: me too! i feel like a very important person hehe. a VIP!

Sana: hmm.

Meanwhile, at the boy's side.

Ishaaq: *he is busy rehearsing how the interview would go*

Hussein: who is Avian?

Hasan: interesting question.

Ayyub: don't ask questions you don't want the answer to/

Ibrahim: it's okay to admit you don't know the answer.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Avian walked into the room and joined the girls. Another taller person joined the boys. He was Avian's little brother.

Avian: Thank you for waiting, now empty your bags.

Her little brother had said something similar to the boys.

Surprised by the command, Sarah and Maryam empty their bags. Sana is skeptical.

Sarah had a small notebook and a pen. Her phone was with a butterfly phone case. A pair of black cloth gloves, a small tissue packet, and a tiny bag that holds her change.

Maryam had some hair clips, a pocket mirror, her phone, and some wrapped candy.

Sana just sideeyed them. Why were they emptying their bags because a stranger told them to?

In the boy's side, Ishaaq took out his things one by one and explained the essence behind every one.

Starting with his phone, some candy wrappers, a receipt from when he went grocery shopping, and a note? a note that said "good food is mood"

None of the other boys emptied their bags. Why would they?

Sighing, Avian's little brother tells her the bad news. She consoles him telling it's alright. That one day, they'll come to show us what they're hiding. She thanked the characters for joining her today for the interview and then dismissed them.

Ishaaq: you guys are no fun! what are you hiding in your bags anyway?

Hasan: I don't carry a bag usually, but my school bag has some antiseptic and band-aids.

Ibrahim: I remember those were very helpful to me in Chapter 2.

Hasan: Cats can scratch so it's necessary for me.

Hussein: And me. He makes sure it's our problem.

Hasan: You love cats yourself.

Hussein: Can't deny that.

Ayyub: Yeah, let's go.

Ishaaq: What do you have in your bag, Ayyub?

Ayyub: None of your business.

Ishaaq: It's my business now.

On the way home, Ishaaq kept bugging Ayyub to find out what was in his bag, but he didn't let loose.

That's all for now. Had fun writing this hehe.
