So this is just a random collection of ideas for a setting I have, but thanks to unfortunate circumstances, probably not gonna be adding new stuff to this. If you guys wanna talk about it I'd be glad to, but so far these are just random snippets of ideas.

    Maplewood is a setting inspired by the horror genre, so if you see any references then you'll know why.

In the Maplewood storyline, one of the most important characters is the Faller Family.

Elizabeth Faller, the mother

Jackson Faller, the father

Michael Faller, the eldest son

Timothy Faller, the middle child

Andrew Faller, the youngest

Three months before the story begins for the main character and her family, Jackson Faller would die to a heart attack. This would lead Elizabeth Faller into a depression, but is able to keep going thanks to the love and support of her sons. That love and support would only fall and the depression to seep in as supernatural forces would claim her children.

Andrew Faller would be the first to go, with only a day after confessing his love to the main character, he would disappear. His body torn and mutated by the fabric of the cosmos to turn into the Ouroboros, the serpent that holds the boundary between realms.

Timothy Faller would be next, having coming home one day after discovering a wicked tree deep in the valley nearby. His body would go pale and he would fall ill, only to be perfectly fine the day after. Due to the investigation of the main character and her friends would they discover that Timothy would have been killed, his body now nothing but a meat suit for the mad blood god Kanik.

The final son, Michael Faller, would be taken soon after Timothy. Being a religious boy, Michael would constantly go to the Trinity Church to seek answers for his brothers disappearances and his mothers fast decline into depression. Given a choice, he fully accepts the life of the Trinity, anything to help his mother. Only for it to take away his very humanity. The Trinity revealed their true selves to them, the Fake Angels who wished to become the very angels of heaven. Michael would be turned into them, his body now far from human and unable to see his mother.

With the loss of her entire family, Elizabeth would be put into medical care after her neighbor stopped her from hanging herself. There she sits, her eyes dull as all the joy of her life has been taken from her in such a short period. All she prays for is to see her sons one last time...but if not?

Then she wishes for that one moment where she can end it all....

If it was a series then the first episode would be this.

It was Memorial Day and the main character, with her sister, have gone to the local party area where the main event was taking place. However it was mostly boring, so they decided to go explore the forest area a bit. A little while of walking, they come across an abandoned cemetery holding the remains of long dead civil war soldiers. Just then, as the fireworks begin to go off, the graves explode as the skeletons arise to continue their fight. (They have their muskets somehow but let's not dwell on that lol). The main character and her sister take cover as musket fire fills the forest. After a while of fighting, all the skeletons stop as they realized every time they shot the bullets would just pass through them. One yells out "how can we fight if we can't even hurt each other?" The captain of the union side "rolled" his eye sockets before punching the confederate soldier in front of them. The skeletons enter a full on fist fight, sometimes breaking apart and merging into each other. Soon, the main character and her sister are running downhill as a literal skeleton ball rolls down and into a lake, where it shows they're still punching the shit out of each other.

The two girls come back and are questioned by their parents, but all they held was the most confused expression in their life.

Mary's Bloody Lamb

A side story away from the main family, it follows two minimum wage workers, Josh and Annie, working at a restaurant called Pietro's Family Diner. Only been working there for two weeks, it was decent pay despite working minimum wage. Their boss Pietro was surprisingly friendly. The animatronics were a little freaky but still provided enough joy to the children. It was normal until they were given the task of cleaning duty in the storage area.

While sweeping up under a desk, Annie was confused when she felt the broom hit something. With Josh's help they moved the desk, finding a small door hatch. While Annie was against opening it, Josh's curiosity was too much and decided to pick lock it. Opening it, they discovered a small safe. Just as Josh was about to try to unlock it, the voice of Pietro made them jump and quickly put everything back. Annie said that they should leave it alone, but Josh was too curious. They knew where the safe was for the buildings funds, so what was in there?

The next time they were on cleaning duty, Josh immediately went to work trying to unlock the safe. Annie was nervous they were gonna get fired, but her curiosity was building up too. It took a few tries and a few close calls with their other workers, but Josh managed to unlock the safe. In there was an assortment of pictures and an old vhs tape.

The pictures told an entirely new story. It showed the same looking restaurant, but it was called Mary and Pietro's family diner. Photos showed their boss Pietro and the woman they figured was Mary, a beautiful woman with brown curly hair. Pictures showed them opening the restaurant, older looking animatronics, a photo of the lead lamb animatronic, and the last ones showing Pietro with his wife and Mary with her husband and son. All that was left was the vhs tape, which Josh snatched up and hid in Annie's purse.

Later that night, they used Josh's old vhs player to play the tape. It was less of a movie and mostly an assortment of photos and videos. Suddenly, Pietro's voice was heard.

"Hello there fellow employees or complete stranger. If you are watching this, then you have stolen this tape from a very secret place. No matter, since you are watching I must say I made this tape to finally let out my confession. A long time ago, before I took over the restaurant, I had a good friend named Mary Winslow. Been friends with her since childhood and it only grew when we made this plan happen. She was a wonderful woman...or at least I thought. One day, she had invited my wife Emily for lunch. It was during that time that they ended up in a car crash. Mary suffered some brain trauma and a broken arm....Emily was killed...."

"She killed my Emily. She can apologize all she wants to me, but apologies aren't going to bring back the ONE woman that brought me so much joy in my life. Weeks would go by, I had so many dark thoughts of how I would get back at her kept brewing...until it finally clicked for me. I'll take away everything from her like how she took everything from me. So, I reprogrammed the lamb robot. Some modifications here and there and she was perfect for my plan."

"When I got to their home, it was only her husband and son. Luckily he didn't think much, making it easy to chloroform him and his kid. One trip to the restaurant and I put the bastard and the brat in the same room with the lamb. Later that night, Mary was calling me worried about her husband and son. I told her to meet me at the restaurant, I had to hide my glee so damn hard. She still had her arm broken, which added even more pleasure to me. While I hid in the restaurant, she made her way into that door. Oh how I wish I could've seen her distraught face! Finally, peace overtook me when I shut the door with the lamb inside. Her screams was akin to the most wonderful opera I've ever heard. She deserved it for what she did to my Emily.

So...you've heard my confession. And I would like to tell you that I check the same safe at the end of every day. So...you better start praying...because I know where you live."

The tape would stop and soon after, a loud knocking on their door...

They sneak their way back into the restaurant as Pietro is chasing them. They find that same door covered by a shelf and managed to break open the door. Pietro stops in fear as he sees the old lamb animatronic standing at the door, her fur now a dark red from the years of stained blood. The lamb would tilt her head before a mechanical voice comes from her. "Pietro...." Without warning it lunged and grabs Pietro, tearing him limb from limb while he's still alive. Josh and Annie watch in terror as the lamb finishes him off, making sure his torment was as slow as possible. She would look back at them before walking away, bashing away items in her way as she heads into the kitchen. Turning the gas up and breaking the line, Josh and Annie quickly escape as the lamb lights up a match. "Honey....my son...I'll be seeing you soon..." the lamb would say before the entire restaurant bursts into flames. Josh and Annie would leave town shortly after this event, wanting to leave this all behind.

A Burning Dark Past

(Main characters name is Grace and her sisters name is Scarlet)

For as long as Grace has been alive in Maplewood, she's always looked up to her older sister Scarlet, who's in the senior class of Highschool. Though one thing about her she found strange is how she never talked about her love life. When she asks her mom about it, she claims that Scarlet was into one guy for a short while but then it fell off. Grace would ask Scarlet about it, but upon hearing the news Scarlet gained a worried glance. She would try to avoid the question until Grace annoyed her enough, finally telling her sister at night in her room.

Turns out, Scarlet had lived a secret life a few years ago. She would often sneak out at night to hang out with her friends, often including the destruction of property and other delinquent activities. Part of this group was a boy named Maverick. While at first they didn't like each other that much, their constant get togethers with their friends would grow into a friendship, and soon a romance. They would often sneak out at night just to see each other. Maverick even telling her that he'd marry her once they finished college. Scarlet smiled at these memories, but the smile fades to a look of regret.

One night, while looking for an activity, they had ended up going to the end of the towns border and came across a burning building. They saw people trying to get out but were motioning that someone was still inside. Maverick ran inside, despite his friends yelling that it wasn't their problem. Scarlet and some of her friends ran after him into the burning building. They searched the rooms, helping the few people inside get out. Just as they got to the bottom floor, Maverick gave Scarlet a child before running back to see if anyone was still there. She tried to tell him no, but he wasn't listening. The sounds of the wooden structure cracking was making her nervous. She tried to run after Maverick but she nearly was crushed by a falling beam. She turned to run back outside, but a sound made her stop. Maverick was on the stairs, his body pinned by a burning beam that fell on him. It was broken just enough for one or two people to pull off, but Maverick was in such an awkward position he couldn't turn his body. He looked to Scarlet, calling and begging her to help him. She didn't...she looked at him with a teary gaze before running out.

That was the last time she saw him. The building was destroyed by the fire and the body was never found. Scarlet fell to tears as she remembered the night, wishing she wasn't so cowardly and hadn't ran off. Grace held her sister as she let her sob, now understanding the truth why Scarlet never tried to find love again.

Meanwhile, one of Scarlet and Mavericks old friends was confused as to why he had gotten a video game in his mail. Putting it in, the screen flashed the classic video game characters Sam and Mac, two heroes from a retro platformer game. However, Sam, the main character, was acting differently. He would often stare at the screen or the background, something that was never added to the game due to its old age. It wasn't until he finished the level did something truly horrific happen. Sam looked at him through the screen in a dark void, text appearing above his head that spoke. "You forgot me didn't out Kevin...it's me...the one you left behind..." Kevin widened his eyes when he saw the name Sam had turned to Maverick. Suddenly, his room began to feel hot as he looked to the side, noticing a shadow behind him. A charred, bone black hand fell to his shoulder before the screen cuts to black.

"She forgot me too....no matter....she'll remember soon enough....Scarlet...."

Child of Dreams

An unknown entity that travels around the world, but at the time of his introduction he visits Maplewood. The Child of Dreams is a benevolent entity, invisible to the naked eye and only being able to be seen through dreams. He is described as to be a young looking child, about 7, with hair as white as the moon, eyes that shine like stars, and a cloak that is as mysterious as the night sky but as comfortable as a warm blanket. It is unclear as to what this entities goal is, but he seems to just travel across the night, entering the dreams of people to make them better. If one were to have a nightmare, he would enter and replace it with a good dream, often looking into the persons mind. He even spends time playing with the individuals in their dreams. However, while he does usually travel across the world when it's night, if he gets stuck in an area that turns to day, he falls asleep until night falls again.

A Pretty Future

The main character is a 13 year old girl named Grace Springer. She's a bit dumb but not to a large margin. However, due to recent events involving a bully at her school, she begins to see herself as ugly. She tries her best to change herself, from clothes to hairstyle to even makeup, something she hates as she's a bit of a tomboy. Knowing her change in attitude, her family try to cheer her up by taking her to the "totally not ran by paranormal entities" amusement park. This park was well known for its more wacky rides that seemingly defied logic, such as appearing at one end of a rollercoaster but exiting at the opposite end in a short tunnel. While she is grateful for the trip and the fact she's able to bring her friends along, Grace still can't get the feeling of self doubt out of her head. That was until she and her friends discover a "magic" photo booth. Supposedly to show you at different ages of your life. Everyone went first, but Grace went last before quickly using the restroom. Her sister Scarlet saw her picture go out of the machine, picking it up before doing a double take.

It showed an adult Grace, and by god she looked like the most beautiful woman in the world. A perfect smile, soft flowing hair, and most beautiful of all, the small belly bump on her stomach. Everyone else looks around, really unsure as to if this machine was truly magic or not to produce a photo of this quality. When Grace gets out of the bathroom, she's extremely confused as to why everyone is huddling around the machine.
