Chapter 11

"Miss Dreemur." I heard a deepish voice call. I thought about opening my eyes, but felt too tired to.

"Miss Dreemur, please get up." The voice said again. He was familiar sounding. I sighed, opening my eyes.

I saw the doctor looking at me, clipboard in hand. I had my head on Frisk's stomach, where I slept. I heard Frisk giggling a little as she stared at me. I felt myself blush a little as I sat up.

My hand was still intertwined with Frisk's. I gave the doctor a slight embarrassed smile.

"S-Sorry." I said. He chuckled a bit.

"It's okay. We just need to get Frisk's crutches is all." He smiled. I nodded, then looked towards Frisk.

"Good morning." I said warmly. She smiled brightly, her whole face lighting up.

"Good morning." She replied. I squeezed her hand gently.

"Okay, well Frisk. I'll take you into one of the examination rooms to get you crutches." He smiled.

"I could do blue and purple... but I think you would just prefer a solid color." He laughed. She giggled and nodded.

"Okay, we'l-" He started, lifting Frisk's foot.

"I got it." I said. He backed away a little as I picked Frisk up bridal style yet again, grinning as I did so. I lifted her foot gently, keeping it elevated.

"Uh, um. Okay that works I suppose." He said, a little surprised looking. He looked at us questioningly for a moment.

"I really do not want to intrude, but you are sure you'r-"

"Doc, we already told you were just friends." I stated before he finished his question. I was getting slightly annoyed but Frisk laughed a little, scooting up a little closer to my chest. I felt my face blush slighty.

"Oh okay, I apologize." He said.

"It's okay." Frisk smiled. He smiled back and I followed him out of the room.

I sat in a chair while Frisk and the doctor tried out different sizes until they found one she said was comfortable.

"Thank you!" Frisk smiled, leaning on her new crutches. She waddled around a bit getting used to them. I smiled, seeing her foot wasn't bothering her as much. She came up to me and smiled.

"What do you think?" She asked.

"I think it's a pretty good size." I replied. She nodded, agreeing with me.

"Okay, now excuse me for one second while I go grab something." The doctor said before exiting the room. I stood up and looked at Frisk.

"What I wanted to say is you look just as beautiful with crutches than without." I smiled, getting closer to her. She smiled warmly, blushing a little.

"Thank you." She giggled. I put my hand on her cheek, and leaned in to kiss her. She accepted the kiss right away, her soft lips against mine. I warmed, kissing the person I loved the most.

We stood like that for awhile, continuing to kiss. I pulled away for a breath when I heard a creak. I pecked her lips one last time before rushing to sit back down.

I tripped a bit in my rush, causing Frisk to laugh a little.

"Ah, sorry that took a little longer than I expected." The doctor said entering the room.

"It's okay." Frisk replied. My heart was still racing from the kiss, but started to panic when the topic of money was brought up. I sighed, afraid of what the price was going to be.

"I could pay you in a check, how much do you think the price is going to come to?" Frisk asked. The doctor sighed looking towards the ground. I put my hand to my forehead, getting worried about the cost.

"Well, you see Frisk." He said seriously.

"It's going to cost just about." He looked up smiling.

"Nothing!" I shot my head up to the doctor. Frisk's jaw dropped a little, she was just as shocked as I was.

"N-Nothing?" She asked. He laughed cheerfully nodding.

"Why yes, Frisk. You are the ambassador after all. How could I charge you? You're very friendly, and I am sure you are already under enough stress with your job. So don't worry, I'll cover the fees." He winked.

"I- uh, Are you sure? That is such a generous offer." Frisk sputtered.

"Yes, the pleasure's all mine." He smiled. Frisk smiled widely, beaming.

"Thank you so much!" She exclaimed. I stood up and shook the doctor's hand.

"Thank you, this is crazy nice." I said.

"You're very welcome."

I was so relieved we didn't have to pay anything, especially since he was right. Frisk already has so much on her plate with the ambassador ordeal. Guys like him made me happy, he was kind and generous, especially since he was helping Frisk.

"So you two are free to leave whenever you like." He said, opening the door for us. I smiled, leaving the room with Frisk behind me. I checked my phone, 6:47. Visiting hours would be open soon. The doctor walked with us until we got to the front door.

"Thank you again, so much." Frisk said.

"It was no problem at all." He smiled. I thanked him once more as well as we headed out of the building. When we got outside I turned around and hugged Frisk tightly. She laughed a little from the sudden affection and hugged back as much as she could with the crutches.

"That doctor was amazing." She said as I pulled away.

"I know, he was awesome. I'm so glad you got him as a doctor." I replied.

"How is your foot feeling?" I asked her. She looked down at it then back up at me.

"A little sore, but a lot better than last night." She smiled, yawning.

"We should get you home and to bed." I said, pulling out my phone to text Mom.

"I-I'm not that tired." She said yawning again. I laughed a little.

"Yes you are, it's okay, I am to." I admitted. We were both running off of a little less than 4 hours of sleep.

I texted Mom, asking her to pick us up and put my phone away. I looked around and saw a bench.

"I guess now that you have crutches, I won't need to carry you everywhere." I said.

"Who says you can't carry me?" She smiled. I smirked, taking her crutches, and picking her up. She laughed as I brought her over to the bench and sat down. She sat up, now sitting in my lap.

She cupped my cheek in her hand smiling.

"Thank you my big, strong man." She laughed.

"I'm a dude now?" I grinned.

"Haha, I guess so." She said still laughing. She leaned over and kissed my cheek. I blushed slightly, looking her in the eyes.

"You have really pretty eyes." I smiled.

"Yours are prettier." She replied blushing a bit.

I smiled as we sat there just staring at one another. After a few moments she laid her head on my shoulder. I put my arm around her and relaxed, laying my head on top of hers.

Soon I saw a shiny red car coming towards us.

"Frisk! They are here, we need to get up." I whispered, frantically trying to gently move her. She mumbled a little and I realized she was falling asleep. The car got closer and I finally decided to just pick her up again. I held the crutches underneath her and walked up to the curb.

Mom pulled up and opened the doors.

"Mmm, Chara?" I heard Frisk ask quietly.

"You're a sleepy butt." I grinned, getting into the car and placing her gently in the back seat, being cautious of her foot. Her eyes floated open as she looked at me and smiled, before fluttering shut again. I smiled back, placing her crutches next to her.

I slammed the door shut and hopped up front with Mom.

"Hey Mom, thanks." I said buckling in.

"It is no problem at all, my child. But do not scare me like that again!" She suddenly said.

"Woah, woah, woah. How did I scare you?" I asked.

"You did not tell me of your intentions of staying with Frisk for the night." She explained. I sighed with relief, glad it wasn't anything worse.

"Oh yeah, sorry Mom. It was a last minute thing and I was just tired."

"We were out in the parking lot for 20 minutes, I was getting nervous something had happened. But then Undyne went in and the doctor explained."

"Oh. I'm really sorry." I apologized.

"It's okay, Chara." She smiled. The drive was silent for awhile, I stared out my window, watching all the houses and scenery pass by.

"Chara. I've noticed you seem a little." Mom sighed.

"You seem a little, depressed since you have returned." She finished. Her words floated through the air, hitting me kind of hard. I shifted in my seat, taking a deep breath.

"I, just. I'm not used to it all, you know." I said. She nodded sadly, still focused on the road.

It fell silent again for awhile, and I felt as if I had said the wrong thing.

"But, I'm really happy to have you all back." I added. Mom smiled a bit, her face becoming q bit brighter.

"We are glad to have you back too, my child." She said warmly. I smiled, seeing her a little happier.

Our relationship at the moment was kind of strange, I wasn't used to having her back. Especially after how I tried to...

I looked over at her, and felt a pain in my chest. How could I have wanted to do something so... I felt the guilt swelling in my chest, and suddenly felt like bursting into tears.

I dug my nails into my arm, trying to distract me from crying. I inhaled deeply, grasping my surroundings.

Mom looked over at me for a slight second, and worry filled her face.

"Chara! Are you okay?" She asked concerned, looking between me and the road. Her concern for me made me feel so much worse. I clenched my arm tighter, nodding.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine." I said while gritting my teeth.

"My child, you do not seem okay." She said. I tried to keep my face neutral, hiding the fact I was feeling a pressure completely surrounding me, closing me in. The guilt became overwhelming and I laid my head back a bit.

"I am f-fine, Mom." I said, breathing out.

"Chara, are you sure?" She asked. I nodded, continuing to take deep breaths, trying to calm down.

"Yes, I think I may be just a l-little tired. It's pretty early." I replied, making an excuse. She looked at me for a moment, and hesitantly nodded, thankfully letting the matter drop.

I squeezed and released my arm a couple of times before I felt a slight touch on my shoulder. I turned around to see Frisk, smiling slightly as she still seemed a little fuzzy from sleep. I let go of my arm on final time and hung it back towards Frisk.

Frisk smiled warmly, taking my hand. Her touch alone made me feel so much better, and comforted. I leaned down in my seat, as I stroked Frisk's hand with mine. God, I love her.

Although Mom would sneak looks at me, she never saw Frisk and my hand taken in one another.

When we got home I helped Frisk out of the car, and she showed Mom her crutches. From there she crutch walked to the house, and I walked slower staying with her.

When we walked in everyone was in the living room. Papyrus bounced up and was the first to greet us.

"WOW BLUE HUMAN! SANS TOLD ME YOU HAD AN ACCIDENT!" Papyrus said concerned. Frisk smiled at him.

"Yeah, just a loose shelf, Papyrus. I'm fine now." She said.

"WELL THAT IS QUITE THE RELIEF! I SHALL MAKE YOU SPAGHETTI WHILE YOU MUST USE THOSE WALKING STICKS!" He beamed proudly.

"They're called 'crutches' dork." Undyne said.

"I KNEW THAT! HOW COULD I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS NOT KNOW SUCH A SILLY WORD! I WAS, WAS JUST TESTING YOU! YES, MAKING SURE YOU ARE KEEPING UP WITH YOUR VOCABULARY! NYEH HEH HEH!" He defended. We all knew he was lying, but smiled and played along.

Everyone else greeted Frisk as well. While she and Alphys were talking Sans and I made eye contact. I remembered what he had said, the darkness... Azzy. He looked kind of sorry, but I could only stare at him for so long before I needed to break away. I looked towards the ground, now avoiding eye contact with anyone.

"But, Chara kept me company." I heard Frisk say happily. I felt myself blush a little looking up.

"A-Aw that was so sweet of y-you, Chara!" Alphys said, squealing a little. She went over to Undyne and whispered something in her ear.

"Fuhu, nahh Alphys." She laughed. I looked at them confused, but they didn't say anything.

"Well, I am going to head upstairs and get some sleep, thank you for the warm welcome everyone." Frisk smiled, starting to head upstairs.

I followed her up, helping her up the steps. When we got into the room I pinned her against the door, locking it as well.

"Chara!" She laughed. I smirked at her kissing both her cheeks before her lips. She dropped her crutches, now leaning onto me. She kissed back, allowing my tongue to slip in after I licked her bottom lip.

She moaned only slightly as I kissed more passionately than normal. I wanted to make sure she knows how much I love her.

Her tongue was warm and moist, it's touch making my heart pound faster. I traced my hand down her side, the other one supporting her back. I love her so much. Even when she was in the Underground, I started learning to love her.

She giggled a little, pulling away. I smiled.

"That. Was for all the time we lost due to the hospital." I smirked. She wrapped her arms around my neck, a little pressure adding as she was leaning onto me. I smiled, feeling so amazing at that one moment. The person I loved the most, loved me back. That thought made me laugh a little.

"What's wrong?" Frisk asked.

"I just... I don't know. I'm strange sometimes." I laughed. She nodded.

"I already knew that." She replied laughing. I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Hm, I see how it is." I grinned, picking her up. I walked her over to her bed, laying her down gently, then laying myself down next to her. I put my hand to her cheek and smiled.

"I'm glad you're feeling better, even if you're a butt sometimes." I smiled.

"Haha I am not. But, thank you, Chara." Whe replied laughing at first then turning more sincere. Her blue eyes were so beautiful, strong, fierce, bright, and stunning all at the same time.

"Well, you should get some sleep." I said, starting to adjust my position. I laid on my back, looking up towards the ceiling.

I waited for her to lay onto my chest like she usually does then realized she can't turn over. I turned back to face her. She looked sad.

"Aww, I'm sorry." I said laughing a little. She smiled, laughing a little too.

I wrapped my arm around her head, bringing her into a protective position. She looked up at me smiling. I just stared at her for a second before she poked my nose.

"Boop."

"What was that?" I asked. She giggled.

"I booped your nose!" She smiled. I looked at her with a serious expression for as long as possible before cracking and smiling. She was so cute.

"You're a dork. But very adorable." I grinned. I kissed her nose, causing her to blush slightly before I laid my head ontop of hers. I closed my eyes for a second, before looking down at her foot.

"Is your foot comfortable?" I asked. I felt a slight nod, realizing she was drifting off to sleep.

"Was that a yes?" I asked. I didn't feel any movement, and realized she was now completely asleep. I smiled.

"That's not helpful." I grinned, closing my eyes as well.

---

Knock Knock

I shifted a little, hearing a noise, but decided to just ignore it.

Knock Knock

I grumbled, waking up more. I tried to force sleep again, Frisk still in my embrace.

Knock Knock

I finally realized someone was at the door. I sighed finally admitting defeat. Ugh, why can't anyone let anyone else get any sleep.

I looked down at Frisk, who was still sleeping softly. I smiled, wanting to just ignore the door.

Knock Knock

I groaned, slowly letting go of Frisk and slipping out of the bed. She made a small noise before shifting. I let out a breath and walked to the door.

"Yeah?" I asked opening the door. It was Toriel standing there.

"Hello, Chara. It is time for dinner, Frisk and you have been up here all day long." She said.

"Do you think we could eat up here? Frisk is really tired." I said, running my hand through my hair.

She hesitated for a second, looking around me to see Frisk sleeping.

"Okay, my child." She smiled. I followed her down, grabbing a plate of chicken and corn for Frisk and I. I walked back upstairs, and was greeted by an awake Frisk.

"Hey sleepy." I said, handing her a plate.

"Mom said we could eat up here." I told her. She smiled, taking the plate.

"I mean, we could go downstairs with them if you wanted. I just, I don't know you seemed tired." I added.

"I'm more than okay eating up here with you Chara." She smiled, causing me to blush a bit. We started eating in silence, which I am fine with. Just being with her makes me happy.

"Chara?" Frisk said, breaking the silence.

"Yeah?"

"Um, you really, really don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to. B-"

"Frisk, I'm not afraid to tell you anything." I said cutting her off. She paused, and smiled.

"I'd tell you anything too, Chara." She smiled.

"So, what's up?" I asked, finishing my last bite of chicken.

"Well, in the hospital, they said you fainted." She started, her tone anxious. My breath caught in my throat and I hesitated for a second before nodding.

"You... You seemed to be off, when it was mentioned. Is everything okay?" She asked sincerely, looking me in the eye.

I glanced away, breaking eye contact. I didn't say anything for a moment, the memory of Azzy clouding my brain.

"Oh no, something is wrong." She said, reaching out and grabbing my hand. I looked down at her hands before giving a small, weak squeeze.

"Heh... it's uh. It's no big deal, Frisk." I said, still looking down.

"No big deal? Why are you getting so shy, Chara?" She asked, her voice full off concern. I felt the tears starting to burn my eyes, my vision blurred with them. I blinked a couple times, my throat starting to close up. I tried relaxing but Azzy kept popping up. And then, Sans words. Now forever encrypted into my brain. What I did. What I wanted to do. How I hurt them. How I hurt him. No wonder Sans was still mad at me, I'm a monster.

Tears started escaping my eyes, falling down one by one.

"Chara?" Frisk asked after my silent response. She put her hand under my chin, forcing me to look up at her. I blinked harshly, tears falling down my face.

"Chara!" She exclaimed, her face filling with panic and sadness.

"No, no. Chara! It's okay." She said quickly, pulling me into her embrace. I dug my head into her shoulder, sobbing softly. She stroked my hair, which helped me calm down a bit, but not much.

I could feel her shirt quickly becoming wet with my tears. The pain was overwhelming. I could feel pressure closing in on me from all sides. I wrapped my arms around Frisk, trying to grasp onto reality, and the one person that meant the most to me.

"Shh, it's okay, it's okay." She said soothingly while continuing to stroke my hair. She began to rock us back and forth, which helped a little.

"Chara, it's okay. Whatever it is, I promise it's okay." She whispered as I continued crying.

"F-Frisk... I-It's not okay..." I said quietly into her shoulder, speaking through each sob.

"Chara." She said softly, pulling me from her shoulder. I felt my face was completely wet, my eyes started to hurt from crying so much.

She smiled at me gently, brushing some hair out of my eyes.

"Whatever it is. I promise you. It'll be okay." She said softly, but firmly, looking me in the eyes. Her blue eyes pierced through all the pressure I was feeling.

"I love you." She said softly. With those three words, I was able to crack a small, broken, but true smile. Knowing she loved me was my everything. She was the greatest blessing in my life, I couldn't live without her.

"I love y-you too." I said through my tears. She put our plates to the sides, and laid down, pulling me down as well. She let go of my hand and wrapped her arm around me. I scooted down and laid on her chest, wrapping my arm around her.

She kissed the top of my head while gently stroking my back. She was so comforting, my crying slowed, but tears still escaped. She whispered soothing things into my ear. I looked around the room, one of the techniques I learned for staying calm.

My wooden bed sat across from us, my green comforter laying loosely on top of it. The bedside drawer next to it had two drawers, filled with some of my clothing. My keys lay on top, along with my charger and an empty golden picture frame.

I inhaled deeply, closing my eyes, and holding the breath for a second. I shakily breathed out through my mouth, trying to regulate my breathing.

But even with breathing and the room, Frisk was the main reason I began to feel safer and calm down. I buried my head into her chest, feeling her warmth alone made me feel comforted.

A few more tears fell down my cheek as I laughed dryly.

"What's wrong?" Frisk asked quietly, beginning to stroke my head.

"I'm so pathetic." I said, laughing weakly at myself.

She wrapped both arms around me, hugging me tightly.

"Chara. You are anything but pathetic." She said confidently.

"Okay, s-so I'm weak, w-worthless." I said, honestly. My eyes were sore, and tears began to stop, although my eyes were still burning.

"No! Chara. Look at me." She said, releasing her grip. I looked up into her eyes, my red eyes causing a glow on her face. My eyes glow stronger whenever I was more emotional.

She looked at me and cupped her hands around my cheeks.

"Chara. You are not worthless. You mean so much to me. You mean so, so much to me, Chara. I know, we have been dating for a little under a week. But it took less than a second for me to realize I love you. And I couldn't imagine living without you. It pains me to even think of a life like that. I love everything about you Chara. Everything. There's not a single thing I would change about you. You are priceless to me." She stated firmly, but love and passion in her eyes. I felt all the pressure, stress, overwhelming pain, all melt away with her words.

I sat their, looking into her eyes. The amount of love I felt in that moment is indescribable. I felt joy, peace, comfort, safe, and of course love. Knowing she loved me so much, even when I didn't really deserve it, brining on another wave of tears.

I bent my head forward, and started crying softly.

"Chara, w-what's wrong?" She asked gently. I looked up at her, my eyes watery and tears down my face. I smiled through them looking at her.

"Frisk, I love you so much." I said, laughing a bit from happiness.

"Aw, Chara." She said lovingly, pulling me in for a hug. I hugged her back, crying tears of joy.

We sat there for a few moments, her comfort meaning the world to me. After she pulled away, my tears had pretty much stopped.

She was looking at me smiling. I love her so much. She deserves to know what happened. I took a deep breath, recollecting myself and preparing to describe the memory.

"O-Okay. I... I can tell you what h-happened now." I said, my breath shaking. She took my hand.

"Chara, you really don't have to. If y-"

"No... You mean, literally everything to me. I want to tell you everything, the good and the bad." I explained quietly. Her face warmed, and she smiled gently.

She leaned in and kissed me softly on the lips, before laying back down. I laid next to her, staring at the ceiling holding her hand.

I took another deep breath, and started to tell her what happened. I told her about Sans, his words, the blackness, Azzy, and Azzy disappearing into nothing.

After I finished, I only shed a few tears, trying to think about Frisk rather than the memory I had just re-encountered for her.

It was silent for a moment. I looked over at her, and she had a few tears on her face as well. I turned over quickly, worrying.

"Frisk! What's wrong??" She put her hands over her face.

"I'm so sorry you went through that Chara." She said muffly through her hands. I smiled at her, pulling her hands away.

"It's okay. I have you here with me now." I whispered to her.

"I will always be with you, Chara." She said. I smiled, brightening a bit. Knowing she'd be by my side was the greatest thought in the world.

I rolled over, getting on top of her, being careful of her foot. I held myself above her, and put my forehead on hers. I leaned down kissing her.

She kissed back softly, with no hesitation. I pulled away slowly, opening my eyes. She laughed a little, smiling at me.

"Thank you, Frisk." I said, caressing her cheek. She blushed slightly, shivering at my touch.

"Chara. You are the strongest person I know. You can pull through anything, okay? You're amazing, and you keep proving that to me every day."

"I'm only strong with you by my side." I said.

"I'm stronger with you by my side too, Chara." She said reaching for my hand. We interlaced and I looked back to her.

"But you are strong even on you own." She smiled. I felt my heart beat faster and warmer as I smiled, kissing her again.

After a quick, warming kiss, I laid beside her, snuggling her. She held her arms to her chest, nuzzling under my chin. I smiled, feeling amazing. She was so amazing. How did I manage to get so lucky.
