Jazzy was born in the Phillipines but moved to New York City when she was nine in 1926. Kelly was born in Kenya and moved to New York City when she was five in 1922. They went through their lives, met each other, fell in love and then got married- as best they could for 1943 anyway

they had a daughter named Magnolia who died before both of them and was an actress
