Age is seemingly a big deal.

Age determines our ability to lawfully drive, purchase alcohol (use caution), receive retirement benefits, be elected as President (in my country), just to name a few.

We celebrate each anniversary of our birth. For some, the years can't pass quickly enough (in youth primarily). Others want to start counting in reverse.

But in reality, we are all the same age. I'm a zero, and so are you. Let me 'splain. From the cobwebby corners of my brain.

If you had a graph of the longevity of your life, your time on earth would be an infitessimal dot compared to your next stage. Eternity.

Therefore, every one of us this side of eternity has the same age ~ rounded down to zero. Even Noah and Methuselah were zeroes on earth. Lol!

So get to the point zero man, what does this mean???

First, we should not be so tied to the things in this world that are passing away (collectively: "stuff"), but rather focus on and invest in our fellow zeroes (no disrespect) and the God who created us.

Second, we should not give in to stereotypes the world places on age (such as valuing youth over getting older). Both young and old zeroes have much to offer, even to each other.

And finally, we should recognize that this earthly, temporal life is fading. Like a mist that evaporates. It is essential that you and I plan for eternity. I fully believe that there is both eternal life, and its polar opposite - eternal death. Both are realities. Jesus Christ is the key.

My fellow zeroes, I love you and so does Jesus. Believe in Him.
