I sighed as I rubbed the bridge of my nose, hoping to come up with some sort of plan. I then looked at the clock on the wall off to my left.

"Thirty minutes..." I said softly before I went back to wracking my brain. I had so much to lose, yet I had nothing at all.

I looked back upon what had happened five years ago. I was on the playground with a couple of my friends, playing tag. Little did I know that someone was watching me besides my sister. But, enough reminiscing. I needed to come up with a plan.

"No, that'd be suicide. That wouldn't work either..." I muttered to myself as I thought of plans to not let anyone die and still not go back to those damn scientists.

I then looked at Jessica who had walked down the stairs. "You find any plausible plan to escape and save us?" she asked.

"No, not yet." I said as she sat next to me. Jessica sighed and snuggled close to me.

"Please don't let us down." she said softly. I nodded and pulled her closer.

"I won't... I promise." I said.

I then started thinking of plans to get everyone out alive, not even worrying about myself anymore. I then realized that the only thing to do was surrender. I had no choice whatsoever, it was the only way. I knew that Jessica would be devastated, so I decided not to tell her. At least not in person anyways. So, I walked over to the fridge and grabbed a piece of paper and a pen. I then wrote: 'I'm sorry, but the only thing to do is surrender'.

I then put the paper on the fridge and put a magnet on top of it before I started to walk towards the door. I opened the door and walked through it before closing it behind me. Before getting to the fields, I then sat before Jessica's parents' graves.

"Hey. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry that I won't be there for Jessica. I know that we love each other, but isn't true love mean that you're willing to die for someone no matter the cost?"

I sighed before continuing.

"I just hope that you two will watch over her and hope that she'll find someone else." I said before getting up and continuing to walk.

After another ten minutes, I stood in front of the people from the lab.

"So, you actually came?" the man in the lab coat said.

"I wasn't gonna let everyone else die." I stated.

"Smart choice." the man said. He then gestured for me to walk over to him.

I gingerly walked over to them and the man in the coat handed me a syringe.

"You can either use that to sleep, or we blindfold you and knock you out. Oh, also... what happened to Jeff?" he said and then asked.

"You mean the guy who killed my parents a few months ago? I burned him." I answered before sticking the syringe into the man's neck and pushing the end of it down, forcing the substance into his system.
