Quickly, I took a picture with my phone before anyone saw it. I may not have been discreet enough as Mr. Draco (no Draco) gestured me to come over after the assembly, then asked me to delete it in his presence. I rolled my eyes but complied; No need to show my dislike so openly. 

The class seemed to pass quickly, and soon enough, it was lunchtime. I sat next to Devon after grabbing a tray of food, just as Tana and her best friend Nazy walked over to our table and plopped down on the seats. Nazy smiled at me, but I ignored her, not because she was Tana's best friend, but she seemed ungenuine. I lifted my taco towards my mouth when I smelt something. It smelt metallic, kind of like rusted iron. It was blood. 

Just as Devon was about to take a bite out of his taco, I grabbed his hand, stopping him. Tana glared at me, but confusion flickered in her eyes. Nazy raised her eyebrows, "Why aren't you guys eating?" She took a bite of her taco and smiled. I stood up, scared. Her teeth were stained red with blood. What the hell!

I opened my taco and pulled out a finger from it. Devon noticed it, eyes wide and Tana screamed. All the other students looked at us weirdly. I glanced around the room, and no one seemed to see anything. They were eating calmly. I clamped Tana's mouth shut with my hand and led her out of the cafeteria, Devon behind us. Nazy made to stand, but Devon told her to sit down.

I led them to the janitor's closet, It was crowded, but it had to do. I ignored the pain of the brooms and mops pocking into my back and tried to find an explanation for what I just saw.

"What's going on?" Devon asked, "Why are the tacos filled with human flesh and  blood."

"How come the others are eating it like that?" Tana questioned, wrinkling her nose in disgust.

"Hmm, also, why were we the only ones who noticed?" I added. 

We were silent, trying to come up with a possible explanation. I sighed " As smart as I am, there are times when I'm not."

"Really?"  Devon asked, eyebrows raised. 

"Of course not. I'm just trying to lighten the mood."  I lie.

" Well, you failed," Tana replied.  

I glare at her, then look away trying to think. Suddenly an ear-splitting scream is heard in the cafeteria. We rush into the room to see a girl lying in a pool of blood, I rush towards her and see a hole in her chest where her heart was. I stand up trying not to gag, she looks just like...him. I step back slowly until I bump into a body.

Devon holds my shoulder and whispers " Hali? are you okay?"

I don't answer, just stare at the body. Events from that day begin to flash in my mind, I blink them away. Devon suddenly points at the girl's body "What is that thing?"

I follow his eyes to a black creature standing over the girl's body, its white pupils focus on us and it smiles evilly, then disappears.

Tana stays silent, her hands shaking as she dials the police, a hand grabs her phone from her. We turn to see Draco, his hands covered in blood. Don't tell me he...

My eyes widen as yell loudly " You psychopath! what did you do to her?"

" Miss Hali I advise you to watch your words, you are supposed to be smart but you didn't seem to notice that I just arrived. " He said as he ended the call. He was right, the only thing we saw was that...thing. That doesn't explain the bloody hands though.

" Now all of you should head to the assembly all to await your parents."

I glare at him," Screw you Draco, I'm not going anywhere." 

Draco narrows his eyes at me as if he figured I recognized him. I glance away calmly avoiding his gaze.

"That's Mr. Draco to you, Miss Hali."

I scoff, Who does he think he's fooling? 

Draco sighs then turn to Devon who quietly leads me to the assembly hall. Tana snatches her bloody phone from his hands and stomps out. We enter the hall with the rest of the student body and take our seats. Mrs. Alfonso walks onto the stage looking weary " Due to the  recent event that has occurred, I am hereby announcing my resignation."

Gasps fill the room, I look up shocked. Mrs. Alfonso has been our principal since 1st grade, although the events that have happened weren't this bad, she wasn't fired.  So why now all of a sudden, when a student was killed in front of the entire student body. This was extremely fishy.

She continues " I am also announcing our new principal Mrs. Nazy Ackerson."

Did she say Mrs? When did that happen?

Nazy walks on the stage, a smile on her face. I shivered, it seemed evil. It kinda reminded me of the creature we saw in the cafeteria. Nazy wasn't in the cafeteria when the girl was killed. I look back at Nazy who had reached the stage.  Our eyes locking and for a split second, her pupils turn white then back to blue.  

I look around to see if anyone had noticed it, but they were all focused on Nazy. I feel Devon's hand tighten around my shoulders. I assume he noticed, Tana had become pale with fear, as she shook her head refusing to believe her best friend was a monster. She turns to me for confirmation, I nod slowly as she tears up. 

"Thank you, Mrs. Alfonso, " Nazi says "Although I have to say, I never liked you. So I'm quite satisfied with the board's decision to fire and eliminate you."

Mrs. Alfonso became nervous" I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean."

Nazy smiled as she moved closer to her, " It means Alfonso, that your time is up."  Her french manicured nails grew into long black claws that pierced through Mrs. Alfonso's chest. She pulled out a bloody beating heart as Mrs. Alfonso's body fell to the ground.  Screams filled the air as everyone started panicking, trying to escape. I glanced around, where the hell were the bloody teachers. Then again, Nazy probably killed them too.

"How weak," Nazy said as she stared at the body. She then turned back to us, as she gobbled up the heart. The blood dripped from her teeth,  bile rose in my throat but I pushed it back down. I had to escape from this...monster. I begin to run towards the door, Devon and Tana follow me along with a bunch of students. The doors close just as we reach it, I yell and pound it repeatedly but it doesn't budge. 

Martin, the star quarterback tries to round up jocks to break down the doors, but they don't budge. Nazy laughs " That door has been fortified with magic, you can't break it. Why don't you stop struggling and come to sacrifice yourselves peacefully."

Martin yells at her " You must be stupid to think that we would willingly sacrifice ourselves for your stupid ritual."

 Nazy scowls at him. Bad idea Martin, angering the monster girl. Nazy raises her hands muttering strange words and Martin begins to scream as sounds of his bones breaking fill the room. We watch him scream in pain until he drops dead on the floor. That was the last straw, everyone started grabbing chairs and hitting the doors hoping for even a  tiny dent.

Nazy sighs as she walks down the stage her eyes locked on mine, I look away and stare at the door, wishing it would just open. Suddenly the doors opened and everyone rushed open, I looked back at Nazy who had a smile on her face as she disappeared.  I stop in my tracks as everyone rushes towards the school gates, Devon and Tana stand beside me.

"It's a trap," I say. 

They both nod. They'd noticed Nazy's smile as well.

" What do we do now?" Tana asks.

"Let's search for the teachers first, especially Mr. Draco," I reply. I would feel more assured with an adult around. Assuming they were still alive that is.

"Are you serious Hali, he was the one who sent us into that death trap in the first place," Devon yells furious.

"That's exactly why we need to find him. He probably has the answers we need."

"It seems that you are indeed worthy of your intelligence, Miss Hali." a voice says from behind us.

I turn around to see Draco stride towards us a smile on his face. He scans us then glances at the open door behind us, a satisfied look on his face.

" It seems I am, Mr.Draco. Or  maybe you prefer Mayor Blackwood."
