*Naruko's pov*

It's been a little over a month since I've been at the base. Karin said I wasn't aloud to leave her sight until she said. So I've been helping her organize things and set up experiments, even though I didn't really want to do that. She also helped me with my documents.

"Hey Karin, can you help me with this?" I ask with furrowed eyebrows.

"Sure, What is it?" She asks taking the scroll.

"I don't know. I've had it since I was a kid but I could never figure out what it was." I say confused. She opens it and studies it.

"It's blank... no it's a chakra paper. You need to charge your chakra into it. For being a Chunin level ninja I'm surprised you couldn't figure that out." She says sighing.

"Truthfully I haven't seen it since I was a kid. I put it away and forgot about it." I reply shrugging.

"Well charge chakra to it. I'm curious to see what it is." She says waving me to go on. I do as she says and charge chakra to it. "Huh? What's the 'Legend of the Child of Fate'?"  Karin asks.

"I don't know know the full story but apparently an Oracle chose me to be the child of fate." I shrug. 

"This says there's a whole legend about it, but it's all smeared up." Karin shows me the scroll.

"No, it's crossed out... someone else has been in my stuff.." I says narrowing my eyes. "Jiraiya-ero-sennin..." I say glaring.

"Let's ask Lord Orochimaru about it. Maybe he knows." She suggests. I nod and we both walk around the base looking for him.

"Where the hell is the bastard?!" I yell annoyed.

"Don't disrespect Lord Orochimaru." Karin scolds. I sigh then a thought crosses my mind causing me to face palm.

"Hang on to me." I sigh making the tiger seal.

"Why?" Karin asks skeptically.

"I'll teleport us to him." I say sighing. She nods and grabs my shoulder. I focus on Orochimaru and then we appear in front of him. "Ugh, Head rush." I mutter grabbing my head.

"It's to be expected you're still recovering." Karin says helping me stand up.

"Naruko, Karin. What are you doing here?" Orochimaru asks raising an eyebrow. Sasuke stands slightly behind him, looking annoyed.

"Shouldn't you be resting?" Sasuke asks glaring at me. I take a step behind Karin and peek out from behind her.

"Stop being mean Sasuke. She perfectly fine as long as I'm here." Karin glares back slightly. Hehe, Karin acts like an older sister figure to me.

"Yeah! What Karin said!" I yell sticking my tongue out at him. He glares at me.

"Pipe down brat." Karin says bonking my head.

"What?" I pout sitting on the ground.

"Don't forget why we came here. Where's the scroll?" Karin asks.

"I thought you had it?" I question worriedly.

"You idiot! We needed that to ask Lord Orochimaru!" Karin yells about to hit me again. I scout away pulling it out.

"Geez! Chill killer! I was joking!" I yell moving away.

"You two are sssomething." Orochimaru mumbles sighing. "What'ssss that?" He asks snatching the scroll. He reads it and his eyes widen slightly. "Where did you get thisss?"

"It was with my other documents. I was going through them today and found it. I had forgotten about it but it seems most of the writing was scratched out." I say standing up and crossing my arms.

"The Legend of the Child of Fate?" Sasuke mutters looking over Orochimaru's shoulder.

"You want to know what the Legend issss, don't you?" Orochimaru sighs as I nod. "I'll tell you. But not here. Itssss not sssafe here." He looks around calmly. I nod and we all head back to the hide out. Karin's watch beeps as we arrive at the hideout.

"Time to set up an experiment. You'll have to tell me later." Karin says to me as she walks off. I nod knowing better then to interfere.

"So what's the legend?" I ask as Sasuke, Orochimaru and I sit in a lounge room in the hide out.

"The legend goesss like thisssss. The oracle of Fate will choosssse a child who would live up to her expectationssss. It'sss said the oracle wasss sent from the Heavensss, possessing magic inssstead of chakra. The Oracle wassss known by many as a goddess and probably wassss. She possessssed great power, the power of life and death. She created the earth we walk on today, she even created the God Tree Kayuga Ōtsutssssuki ate the fruit from.

Kayuga wasss the first person to gain chakra becoming power hungry. She had two children who were born with chakra. From the day Kayuga consssumed the forbidden fruit she forever intertwined the two. If the oracle were to die without sssomeone to maintain the balanccce-you- then the world would die. If you die from anything other then an illnessss the oracle would die and the world would die. Though, if the child of Fate can maintain peace and live a peaceful life for the ressst of their life then the oracle will die and the child will take over." Orochimaru says calmly. I think over his words carefully.

"I see." I say nodding. "Do you know where the oracle is?" I ask curiously.

"Yessss and no." He says seriously.

"What do you mean yes and no?" I ask glaring.

"It's either a yes or a no, not both." Sasuke says sighing.

"They sssay the oracle livesss insside of the child of fate." He says seriously. I furrow my eyebrows.

"What's the oracle's 'magic'?" Sasuke asks curious.

"Itsss said the oracle can calm any buuji, sssee through any kekkei genkai/kekkei mora, massster anything given and even revive people from the dead with a sssingle touch. Thatsss all I know though." Orochimaru says.

"Explains your natural skills." Sasuke says sighing.

"Not really... I still have trouble with some things." I sigh. "And besides if that was me I would have revived Dad and mom when I touched them." I say looking away. Orochimaru chuckles at me. "What's so funny?" I glare.

"Jusssst like being a ninja you have to train in order to maintain your powerssss. As a ninja you're powerful, but you need to train your powersss as the child of fate too." He says seriously.

"And how do you suppose I do that?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.

"Meditate for a while. It will come to you. Sasuke and I have to get back to training now. I'll give you two a few to speak, after that we'll leave." Orochimaru says then glances at Sasuke. We both nod and wait for him to leave the room.

"Can you tell me what happened the day you showed up?" Sasuke asks. I look away and nod silently.

"I'll have to tell you from the day you left for you to understand." I sigh. "When everyone left to find you Selena, Udyan and I had hatched a plan to leave. We started planning back during the second stage of the exams. The Akatsuki entered the village, helping with my distraction unknowingly. While every Chunin and higher ranked ninja were trying to fight them off I was sent to the Hokage tower. Where I went and took files from for my goal. Selena and Udyan were helping redirect villagers to hiding. While Lady Tsunade was getting the safe room ready for me to hide in I was grabbed by someone. Selena and Udyan were as well but we managed to get out of their grip.

I had my files, and we ran. We got to where Obito-Sensei was put into hiding and hide with him. It was peaceful, we trained for two years. Rin came over one day. We decided to take a break from training, Udyan and Selena went into the village for a little while and I went to my room and decided to sleep. I woke up to screaming, the village was being attacked. I looked out my window to see Selena and Udyan laying on the ground unmoving, along with Rin. Obito-Sensei looked kind of like a mad man then the swirly masked man came out of almost nowhere. I put my documents in with my summonings and ran. I couldn't go back and check to see if everyone was okay." I look away chocking on a sob.

"It's okay Naruko. I don't blame you." Sasuke says standing in front of me. I nod.

"I'm going to go meditate. I'll see you later Sasuke." I stand up and hug him slightly. He puts a hand on my head and we walk away from each other. I walked to my room and lit four candles, two white and two black.

I set a white one in the front on the left, black in the front on the right, a white in the back on the right and a black in the back on the left. I sit in the middle and take my jacket off and put my hair up in a bun. Beginning to meditate I take a deep breath and close my eyes.
