Chapter Nine 🌶
It had been nearly a week since Jearon had gone to the police station. He sat back in his chair smugly as he listened to the police chatter on his radio. He was patient. He knew they were getting close. They had records of Ezra's license plate number and traced it until its intel stopped in the mountains. He had given them that information and now they know where they need to look. They still had a lot of ground to cover.
There were many different hunting cabins still in the mountains, but Jearon didn't know where they were located. He never enjoyed hunting. He didn't like to wait. Sitting in a cabin waiting for the time to hunt or even waiting for a deer to walk by annoyed him. He's always stayed in the city. He knew that certain families owned some of those cabins, but there was no way to contact them while they were up there. He started to wonder if Ezra's family had owned a cabin in those woods. If they did, Ezra never mentioned it to him.
Fucking traitor.
Jearon hoped that this chase would be over soon. He was starting to get tired of waiting for his girl. Sure, he'd allow her to go back to her father for a while, but he would eventually take back what was his. He'd take her father's money and her away from where no one could find them. Then she would be his.
He picked up one of the pictures on his desk and smiled at her face. Seeing her at the cabin just confirmed more of his lustful feelings. She was the woman that he wanted. Everything about her was perfect for him. She didn't talk while he was there, but that didn't matter to him. He wouldn't be wanting her to talk much anyway.
"Boss," a tall, broad man stuck his head through the crack in the door. He needed to learn his men's names.
Jearon's smug smile dropped. He sat forward and motioned the man inside. "Come." The man obeyed and closed the door behind him. "What's your name again?"
"Mason, sir," the man answered.
"Well, Mason," Jearon started as he folded his hands on the table. He made a mental note to remember this one's name. "What news do you have for me?"
Jearon could tell that Mason was nervous, but he still stood tall. Good, he thought to himself. "We haven't heard any more information from the police on Ezra's whereabouts."
"What do you mean?" Jearon's hands gripped harder together. "The police radio is talking all about new evidence with the missing girls' case. How do you not have any more information?"
Mason looked down at his hands quickly before bringing his eyes back up. "The police officer who has been giving us updates on the case doesn't have anything more to tell us. He said that the information on the radio is just the same information played over and over again, but with different words. It's a tactic they use to show the public they're searching."
Jearon rolled his eyes. He reached inside a drawer and casually pulled out a gun. Loading a single bullet in the chamber, he pointed it at Mason. Mason automatically stiffened up at the sight of the gun being pointed at him. "Give me more information by tomorrow, Mason. If you don't, you know the consequences."
"Yes sir," Mason nodded rapidly. Jearon noticed how Mason's hands clenched on either side of them. His face worked hard to show no emotion, but he could see the fear as his eyes kept snapping back and forth from his face to the gun.
"Now go." Jearon pointed the gun towards the door. He didn't lower it until the door was completely closed and Mason was gone. He sighed as he placed the gun back on the desk and placed his head in his head. "I need this to go faster." He thought he was patient now that the police were involved, but he was wrong. He wanted this to go his way. He didn't want to go out, but if he was going to get his girl, he needed to do things his way.
He got up quickly, making up his decision, and ran towards the door. He opened it up and quickly found Mason. He grabbed his arm and turned him around to face him. "I have an idea. We're going to find Ezra ourselves. We know where to look. He hasn't left those mountains." Jearon smiled at himself. "Pack your guns, Mason, and bring two other men with us. We're going hunting."
-------
Ezra was slowly starting to get cabin fever. He had been in this cabin for a week and wasn't allowed to leave. He knew Aubrey was starting to feel the same way. They were laying in bed watching Animal Planet – Aubrey's choice. He turned on his side to face her. "How have you not gone insane?"
Aubrey laughed and rolled her eyes as she looked over at him. "Because there are still things to do here that help us pass the time." Her eyes gave off a hint at what she was saying. She ran her fingers through his hair, slightly pulling on the ends.
Ezra's stomach tightened at her words. He knew what she was hinting at, and she was right. They were both out of control. They had to be careful because there were no condoms in the cabin. He didn't want a surprise with everything that was happening. If the situation was different, he'd welcome a surprise. He leaned forward and kissed her before getting off of the bed. "We need food."
Ezra heard the bed squeak behind him. "You're going to the grocery store?"
He shook his head. "Actually, I thought that I'd go hunting." He picked out his dad's rifle from above the door and turned around to face her. "It's hunting season. It's been a while since I've been hunting."
"Could I go with you?"
Ezra smiled. "You want to go hunting with me?"
Aubrey nodded. There was a kind of twinkle in her eyes. She was excited. "I've never been. I'm not going to shoot the gun, but I'll sit next to you."
Ezra smiled at her as he set the rifle down on the table and walked up to her. "All right. But you have to do everything that I tell you to, understand?"
"Yes, sir."
He loved that. "Let's get you changed into hunting-appropriate clothes."
-------
Ezra looked back at Aubrey for the fifth time since they walked out of the cabin. He chuckled as he took in her clothing. She was wearing his camouflaged shirt and jacket that was way too big for her, jeans, and black tennis shoes.
Aubrey looked up at him and glared. "What are you looking at?" That look was dangerous.
Ezra shook his head. "Nothing at all." He turned back around and continued to walk towards his father's old hunting ledge. It took about thirty minutes to get there, but eventually, they made it to the tree. "Here we are." He pointed up the tree to the ledge.
"We have to go up there?" Aubrey asked worriedly. She wrapped her arms around herself.
"What?" Ezra looked at her and smirked. "Are you afraid of heights?"
Aubrey glared at him playfully before grabbing the ladder and heading up. Ezra chuckled at himself before heading up the ladder after Aubrey. He was thankful that the ledge had a small railing. If it didn't, he wouldn't feel as comfortable about being on the ledge. He wasn't necessarily afraid of heights, but he'd rather be on the ground. He pulled himself up and sat down on the ledge next to Aubrey.
"So," Aubrey clapped her hands together. "How does this hunting thing work?"
Ezra smiled as he shook his head. "First of all, clapping is too loud, and you can't really make any noises. Also, we have to be patient." He checked the shotgun, making sure that it was loaded and ready. His hand instinctively touched his bag sitting on his left, making sure it was still with him. In it held extra bullets in case he needed them. He was a good shot, he didn't think he would, but he always made sure to be prepared.
"How long can it be until an animal shows up?"
"Sometimes all day," he shrugged.
"All day?"
Ezra chuckled. "Yes. All-day." He looked over at her. "Sometimes none at all."
Aubrey huffed and closed her eyes. He was sure she was starting to regret coming with him.
"You might as well get comfortable," Ezra told her.
Aubrey leaned back against the tree. "I'll try." She looked over at him and gave him a small smirk before closing her eyes.
Ezra almost asked what the smirk was about but decided against it. He held the gun in his lap and kept his eyes on the forest floor. He hoped that a deer would come by soon. He needed something to do and if that meant that he needed to shoot something then that's what he'll do. They needed meat anyways.
Time was passing slowly while they waited for the deer to come by. He looked over at Aubrey and smiled as she was starting to get restless. "Are you okay?" his voice was low as he talked to her.
"Need the time to pass by faster."
Ezra chuckled. "Welcome to the joys of hunting." He couldn't help his eyes traveling down to her lips. "What were you thinking?"
She leaned over to him and placed her hand on his thigh inching it closer and closer to the button of his pants. Her eyes had turned dark.
She was his girl. "That can be a loud activity."
She moved closer so she was on her knees. She started to undo his pants and the zipper. She maneuvered his member out and started to stroke it. "Don't be loud then."
Ezra threw his head back and suppressed a moan as her mouth covered him. She moved away for a moment just to tell him, "Focus on the forest floor, Ezra. We still need food."
She's going to be the end of me if she keeps bossing me around like this, he thought to himself. He focused on the forest floor and made himself watch for a deer. He moved his rifle to his side and took one hand to run his fingers through her hair. She was moaning slightly as she moved her head up and down. If she wanted to be in control, he was going to let her. His grip on her hair tightened as he worked hard to control himself by moving her head himself.
He was about to finish when he saw a bush rustle in front of them. "Be still Aubrey," he breathed out. She instantly stopped, obeying him. He raised his gun and aimed it at the deer. Once he was sure that the deer didn't know that they were there, he pulled the trigger. He released as the deer dropped to the ground.
Aubrey sat up and wiped the sides of her mouth. "That was different," she giggled.
This side of her turned Ezra on more than he thought it would. He would have never guessed that he would be sitting on a hunting ledge, and she would be making him finish while he shot down a deer. He found out about a fantasy he didn't know he had. He was definitely going to reward her when they got back to the cabin.
"Did you kill it?" Aubrey's voice brought him out of his thoughts. "Do we still have to be quiet?"
Ezra smiled widely at her. "I killed it." He reached out and brushed his thumb across her cheek. "Maybe I'll have you be quiet more often." She rolled her eyes as she slapped his hand away playfully. He chuckled as he moved down the ladder and moved beside the deer. He bent down and thanked the deer for its sacrifice and took the bag from his shoulder and pulled the deer into it. He stood up and looked at Aubrey standing behind him. "Ready to go back to the cabin?"
