The Past
[Shamelessly self-promoting] Hey! Since this story is going to be over very very soon, I'm making a new book! It's a Septiplier teacher AU and it's called "It's Been So Long Since We Met" You can check it out by going to my profile. Thank you! XD
Oh and btw, I think I need to clarify that Mark's hair is still pink in this story.
3rd Persons POV
"M-Mark... your heartbeat..." Jack whispered, finally managed to say something. Mark eyes widened, cursing under his breath. "Y-Yeah, sorry... I was scared that something happened to you."
"Because of me, huh..." Jack chuckled, tears whelming back in both of his now redden eyes. "N-No, I didn't mean it like that..." Mark startled, wiping the tears from the corner of his eyes
"I'm always a wreck... I'm sorry that I made you worried... I should've told you what was going on." He choked as his breathing became uneven again.
"Hey, hey... don't cry again..." Mark spoke softly, hugging Jack more tightly. "Whatever it is that you wanted to tell me, just tell me when you're ready, okay? Please don't force yourself sweetheart."
Jack slowly nodded, not saying another word. Mark drew a sigh; a small smile appears at the corner of his mouth. "Good... Now can you take a rest babe?"
The green-haired man nodded once more, pulling his head away from Mark's neck that's now soaking wet because of the overwhelming amount of tears. "Y-Yeah... But..."
"Yes?" Mark asked calmly, brushing Jack's messy hair aside lovingly.
"C-Can you sleep with me right now before class...? I really need you here with me and just know that you won't go away..." He said, letting out a small hiccup (which Mark finds to be adorable).
"I don't think you should go to class in this state. I'll contact your professor." Mark spoke softly, pecking Jack's forehead. "and of course I'm here for you," He chuckled lightly. "Why would you say that?"
"Just because..." He muttered, lying down. Jack then look at Mark in the eyes, patting the space next to him. Mark understands what he's trying to say as he lays down next to him, facing towards the smaller man. He pulls the sheet up, covering both him and Jack then silence fills up the bedroom, as the only sound that can be heard was their own steady breathing.
"Mark.." Jack murmured breaking the silence, waking Mark who almost fell asleep. "What is it Jack?" He asked, yawning softly.
"You know that I love you so much right?" He spoke, almost in a whisper-like. Mark smiles widely; he can feel that his cheeks are getting warmer each second passes by. "Of course I know ya goof."
Jack now shifted his head, looking at Mark in the eyes with his puffy eyes. "Do you love me back?"
The pink-haired man chuckled lightly, cupping Jacks face as they lean into a deep kiss. "Of course I love you..." "No matter what happens?"
"No matter what happens."
"Promise?" Jack said, holding out his pinky finger as his eyes was showing hope, fear, and worries. Mark moved his hand and entwined his pinky with Jack's.
"Promise."
The older man woke up before Jack does. He opens his eyes and look towards the window, noticing that the sky was already drowning in the horizon. The color was absolutely stunning; it's a mixture of pink, orange, and yellow. As time goes on, the pale glow of the moon rose. Mark watched the entire thing, feeling calm when without a warning, a warm lips kissed his cheek.
"I see that you're awake." He spoke softly.
"I've been awake for a while now..." Jack muttered, snuggling closer to Mark, letting out a small yawn. "I couldn't help but to see you staring at the sky. You're so adorable Markimoo."
"Not as adorable as you, Jackaboy." Mark replied, playing with Jack's bright green hair.
"Ohh, is that my new nickname?" The younger man asked, his eyes were now full of gleefulness. "I guess it is." He replied with a chuckle, kissing his forehead. He then placed a gentle kiss to Jack's lips as he stood up, attempting to control his tired body and forcing it to walk. "I'm going to make us some dinner, okay? You just get some more rest and I'll call you when it's done."
Jack nodded slowly, shutting his eyes again. "I'm so lucky to have such an understanding partner..." He spoke softly to himself as a smile appeared on his lips.
"Jack, dinner's ready!" A voice shouted the Irish man's name, waking him up from his sleep. He then yawned and stretched his arms into the air, still feeling a bit sleepy. But the smell was so inviting that he couldn't resist. He then drags his legs, opening up the door. His eyes quickly wander towards his boyfriend, who was sitting on the couch with two plates of spaghetti with meatballs on the table.
"Smells fantastic." Jack grinned, slumping onto the couch besides where Mark is sitting. "Thanks babe, it's my family's recipe. I'll teach you sometimes." He replied with a chuckle. Mark then took the remote from the table, turning the TV on and they ended up watching some random TV shows. Jack then snuggles towards Mark's side, trying to find comfort.
After they finished eating, Mark took both of their plates, wanting to wash it. Before he could walk away, Jack stopped him by tugging his shirt softly.
"C-Can we talk now...?" He spoke softly, looking away.
"Jack..." Mark sighed, putting the plate down and took a seat next to him. He then held Jack's trembling hands, gripping it softly. "You don't need to force yourself, okay? I already told you..."
Jack slowly shook his head. "N-No... I need to tell it now... If not, we'll never go anywhere." He sniffed, trying to contain his tears.
"Okay then..." He nodded, scooting closer to Jack. "Go ahead. What is it that you wanted to tell me?"
"Well... I don't know where to start honestly." Jack chuckled, still trying to keep his tears inside. "Why do you think back then I always go around and have sex with different girls?"
Mark eyes widened, questioning himself. Why did Jack ask such a blunt question about his past? "I don't know... I never really thought about it that deeply. I just think that you're like those other guys who wanted to have 'fun'." Mark murmured.
"Hey, I don't blame you for thinking that way about my past-self." He smiled softly. "Everybody thinks that way."
"Oh, Okay..." Mark nodded in reply.
"But of course, that's not my reason, at all." Jack clarified, looking down onto the floor. "Before I went to college, I was dating a girl since high school. I loved her, very very much. But one day... she just left me. Left me for my own best friend." Jack spoke, clearly sounded hurt.
"And... And I don't know, I was heartbroken. I know we're still young and shit but goddamn I love her so fucking much, more than anything. I gave her everything she wanted and, and..."
Mark didn't say anything. Instead, he pulled Jack into a long and warm hug. Jack couldn't take it anymore as tears finally came out of his eyes. He rubbed Jack's back soothingly, whispering nothing but sweet words.
Minutes have passed and Jack already calmed down. He then pulled away from the hug, wiping his wet eyes with his wrist. "Sorry... I just, the pain came back there..."
"Jack, it's okay... Just take your time sweetheart."
After a while, Jack finally continued. "So... I've been trying to forget the pain by sleeping with girls that I don't even know anything about except their name. I know it's a reckless move but I'm afraid that if I ever go that far with someone I genuinely love, the past will repeat itself. I just, I couldn't take it. I don't want to lose you Mark, I love you too much to go back. I'm sorry... I should've told you."
Instead of saying anything, Mark eyes were filled with tears as he sobbed softly. "M-Mark...? Are you okay?" Jack eyes widened, wiping the tears from Mark's eyes.
"Sorry... I-I shouldn't be that aggressive back then. I didn't know..." He whispered.
"Mark, I'm the one that's sorry. I was too damn scared to open up about my past. But I'm glad I did it with you." Jack smiled, pulling Mark's shirt and going in for a kiss. Mark then kissed back, wrapping his hand around Jack's neck.
And from there, they promised to take their time slowly.
[I think I'll end this story in the next chapter... Still don't know.]
