Good Morning
[A/N : Whoops, I made it too long... Oh well! ;P Hope you enjoy it anyways]
Mark's POV
I woke up with the sound of a plate putted on my study table, next to my bed. I open my eyes slowly, as I saw Jack, faintly smiling at me as he put the plate down.
"Good Morning." I teased him, earning me a bigger smile from him.
"See? It's not that hard to be nice." He chuckled.
"Said the guy who's known to be a rebel around campus." I mocked him.
"Whatever, nerd." He said giving me a tongue out. The he stood up and walk towards the door. Before he opens it, his eyes that are clear as the blue sky traveled to mine. "Um... you can clearly see that I made somethin' for ya. I'm not the best cook or anythin' so don't judge. And... after ya eat, can we talk?"
Before I can answer, he already shuts the door and leaving me alone with a breakfast next to me. As I examine the plate, I can see that he made me a half cooked egg and some toast that's a bit too toasty for my taste. I stare at the plate for a while with a soft grin painted on my face. I can feel that my cheeks were getting warmer as the time goes.
"Shit... Why am I blushing for him?" I muttered, slapping myself in the face. "I can't be falling for him... can I?"
Suddenly, I heard the door swing open, revealing a figure. "You haven't eaten your breakfast yet? Is it that horrible-looking? Or does it taste that bad?"
"N-No!" I stuttered, scratching my head awkwardly. "I was just thinking about something and got carried away..."
"You and your thinking, man. Can you even stop for a second and just... not think?" He laughs and walks away into our little dining room.
"Douche." I said under my breath.
"I can hear that!" He shouted, still laughing and made me chuckle along.
After that, I started to eat the breakfast that Jack has made for me. It was delicious, considering I haven't eaten a homemade breakfast in a long time. We usually eat ramen or leftover pizza for breakfast or literally anything we can find in our cheap refrigerator. I finished it up quickly and took my phone. I walk towards the dining room, where Jack is waiting for me, with a headset that sticks into his ear, playing a loud metal song that I never enjoyed nor have interested in my life. His eyelids were shut, as he drifted into the song and enjoying it, nodding his head slowly and his leg are thumping onto the floor, following the beat of the song. He doesn't seem to notice my presence as I stood there, looking at his features. He was wearing a black t-shirt that slightly defined his muscles and a dark blue boxer. Usually, I was fine with that. But today, I feel... weird. I blushed at the sight, as a voice made me blush even more.
"Like what you see?" He teased, giving me a wink.
"W-What? No!" I cried, earning myself a smirk from the man with the green hair.
"I'm just messin' with ya!" He chuckled, as his eyes traveled to the plate that I was holding. "Here, let me take your plate. Just sit down, okay?"
"No... It's okay. I'm usually the one that washes the dishes anyways." I shrug, shaking my head slowly, trying to deny his offer.
"And that's why I want to help you, dumbass." He said as he took the plate away from me, walking towards the sink.
"Since when did HE became so nice?" I thought to myself.
Jack is always known to be this 'bad boy' who was a punk and a rebel around campus. He always hangs out with his friends that looked similar to him; pierced ears, ripped jeans, black boots, and colored hair. He also carries around spray can inside his backpack, always looking to find the perfect spot to make his 'art'. I was a bit shock when I found out that I was going to be living with him. I did ask for a replacement but there was none to offer. And after I thought about it, we never actually talk properly until the fight.
"Wait... why am I thinking about him, for the hundreds of times?" I shook my head, trying to get my mind straight and took a seat. Then, a tone can be heard from my phone. As I opened it, I smiled, seeing a text from Wade.
W : So, how did yesterday go? You didn't get beaten up, did you?
M : No, of course not. Besides, I'm WAY buffer than him ;P (even though I don't work out at all, lol) We got into a heated argument though... But now, he's actually being nice to me! He even made me breakfast. How crazy is that?!
W : Yeah sure Mark, you don't work out at all. That is SO believable. Wow, it sounded like stuff went down yesterday! Wait, he made breakfast for you?
M : I swear! Anyways, yeah and yeah... Btw, I need to go. We still need to talk about a few things.
W : Oh, are you going to say to him that you like him? xD
M : Ha Ha. Very funny Wade. I am gay but that doesn't mean that I like EVERY guy that I see, ya dick. And you forgot the fact that he's straight as a horizontal line.
W : But you are living with him, right? :P Besides, maybe he can change his mind. Who knows?
M : Whatever, ttyl Wade.
I then lock my phone screen, Jack walks in with a faint smile on his face. I smiled back as he sits down in front of me, looking away.
"So... What do you want to talk about?" I asked, breaking the silence that was filling up the room.
"Y-Ya know... not much—"
"Not much?" I quickly cut his words.
"Look, I'm nervous okay?" He cried, "I can't say my thought clearly right now."
"Why are you nervous? It's just me, a nerd." I grinned. He rolled his eyes, as he continues. "I just wanna talk about what happened today."
"Go on..."
"U-Um, I don't know... I just feel bad about what went down this morning... And I just wanna say that I'm... Um... Ya know..."
"Sorry?" I asked, somehow helping him with his words.
"Yeah, sorry Mark." He spoke, brushing his green hair aside. "Sorry about the shit that you need to face for the last 2 years. I was too busy being a jerk to actually consider your feelings."
Hearing that, I suddenly get this warm feeling in my chest. I never heard him said the word 'sorry' and I feel lucky that he actually said that word to me. I smiled, as I replied, "Thank you Jack, that actually means a lot to me."
"Really Mark? That short speech meant something to you?" He asked, hinting a bit of amazement and sarcasm.
"Yeah, weird isn't it?" I chuckled, causing him to chuckle as well.
After the small laughter dies down, the room became silent. Both of us now are looking away, avoiding the awkwardness that's building in the air. My eyes wanders towards the clock, making me realized that I was late.
"Shit! I have a class today! How can I forget?!" I cursed as I ran into my room, changing as quickly as possible into a pair of jeans and my lucky flannel. After finished putting my clothes on, I look around to see that my bag isn't where it used to be.
"Looking for this?" A voice came from the door. As my eyes look, I see that Jack was leaning onto the doorframe, one of his hand holding my bag, with a smirk on his face.
I sighed loudly as I took my bag from him. "Thanks, ya dick."
"You are very welcome, darlin'." He joked. The word "darlin'" made me blush as red as an apple. "W-wait, 'darlin''?"
"Jesus Mark, I'm just poking at ya. Don't take it so seriously." He huffed as he walks off towards the bathroom, waving his hand. "See ya later."
"Bye..." I waved back, even though he was facing the opposite way. After that, I quickly put on my shoes and ran outside, trying to catch the time.
I hope I'm not that late.
Jack's POV
I locked the bathroom door and feeling that my legs became wobbly as a jelly. I slowly let my body drop onto floor. As I sat down, I rubbed my head, thinking about what I just did.
Shit... Did I just really called him "darlin'? I never even called those girls that I hooked up with that nickname. Jesus, I need to get my mind straight [A/N: get it? Straight? ;D I'm (not) sorry.] I brushed my hair once more, as I unlock the door, walking towards the kitchen and search for something to eat and brushed aside what just happened.
