Chapter 26

Jasper had quickly left the room and brought Jack in. Jack went over next to Zane, glancing down at his wound before looking up at Zane and me.

"Good to finally see you up, Zane. I hope you don't mind if I check your injury."

Zane shook is head. "Go ahead."

Jack looked over at the others and said, "Alright, everyone out."

"Can Marlow stay?" Zane asked him.

With the others leaving the room, I questioned him, "You want me to stay?"

He flashed me a small smile. "I just woke up. I don't want you to leave me already."

I smiled and Jack replied, "She can stay if you want."

I stayed sitting next to Zane, holding his hand while Jack peeled the bandages off his wound. He examined the injury on Zane's abdomen.

"Hmm, seems it's healing quite well. I think you'll be making a full recovery. I'll just clean it up a bit and re-bandage it for now."

Zane winced as Jack began cleaning the wound. I squeezed his hand slightly and watched the pained expressions on his face. Jack then bandaged Zane's side again.

"There. And you should be able to move around a bit, just don't push yourself until you've healed more."

Zane grinned at him slightly. "I won't. Thanks."

I smiled over at Jack and said, "Thank you so much, Jack. We really appreciate it."

"It's no problem."

Jack passed Zane's shirt to him. He quickly slipped it on and I held onto him and helped him stand up. We slowly followed Jack over to the door and left the room. We went to the living room where everyone waited for us.

I slowly sat Zane down with me on the couch. I explained everything that happened while he was unconscious. He seemed surprised when I told him about how Jeff helped me out. After filling him in on everything, Ben and Paul suddenly jumped out of their seats.

"It's time for a movie night!" they yelled in unison.

I rolled my eyes and smiled. "I guess a movie would be okay. We could all use a bit of relaxation."

Ben picked out some kind of cheesy horror movie and put it in. Once the movie started, I noticed Oliver shiver and scoot closer to me. I wrapped one arm around his shoulder and let him lean against me.

Meanwhile, Zane draped an arm around me while I comforted Oliver. As the movie went on, I found my eyelids closing on their own while my head fell against Zane's shoulder.

The next time my eyes opened, the room was mostly empty. Sunlight poured in through the window, meaning that it was morning. I found myself still leaning against Zane, who peacefully slept along with Paul, Jasper, and Oliver.

I yawned and noticed Jeff coming down the stairs. I carefully got up and followed him to the kitchen. He grabbed a box of cereal and sat it on the table.

"Morning, Marlow. You're up early."

"Well I went to bed early," I said with a smile.

He chuckled. "I know. You didn't even make it halfway through the movie."

I went over to the fridge and grabbed a box of bacon, warming up the whole thing in the microwave.

"What do you expect?" I told him. "After everything that happened last night, you can't blame me for being tired."

He shrugged and started eating his cereal. "True. But even I stayed up until the movie was over."

I bit into a piece of bacon, letting it hang out of my mouth as I sent him a glare. I went back to the living room where the others still slept and leaned over Zane. The piece of bacon in my mouth hung down in front of his face.

I watched his nose twitch slightly before his eyes opened. He looked up at me as I smiled down at him. He gave a sly grin before grabbing the end of the bacon between his teeth and breaking it off.

I giggled at him and handed him a piece of bacon. I woke up each of the others with the smell of the meat, and by the time they were all up, so was everyone else who lived here. We all had breakfast together before I decided to tell Slender and the others what I planned to do.

I calmly told them, "I think it's time we head out."

Slender cocked his head to the side. "You're not staying?"

I shook my head. "No. We have a place of our own. But don't worry, we will always be like family. Feel free to stop by and visit us. And we'll be sure to come back here as well."

"If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask," he told me.

"I won't. Bye for now."

The five of us left Slender Mansion, waving back at our friends as we entered the woods. We soon made our way back home and went inside. I took a deep breath and smiled.

"Seems like ages since we've been here. It's good to be back home."

The boys all nodded in agreement. They quickly got back into their regular routine of things. That whole day I spent getting a few extra rooms set up for the boys. We went out and bought everything for them to personalize their new bedrooms.

Once night had fallen, I took a shower before checking in on each of the boys in their new rooms. Zane's was the last one I checked on. As soon as I entered, he came over to me and pulled me into a kiss.

"It's nice to finally get some alone time with you again," he said after pulling away.

I smiled and pecked his lips before going over to his bed and sitting down. "I know. It seems like forever ago."

He came over and sat beside me. "But now I can have you all to myself."

He suddenly pushed me back against the bed and hovered over me. I looked up at him with worry.

"Careful, Zane. Your injury."

He chuckled slightly and leaned down, planting gentle kisses on my neck and shoulder. "I'm fine, Marlow."

His eyes locked with mine and I softened my gaze. I wrapped my arms around his neck and carefully pulled him down so I could kiss him. I felt his tongue move past my lips and into my mouth.

We soon had to pull apart for air and Zane smiled down at me. "I love you, Marlow."

"I love you too, Zane."

Jeff's pov

I can't believe we forgot to give it to her. I made my way out of the woods and to the small mansion. I went over to the back door and knocked. It soon opened to reveal Jasper.

"Hey, Jeff. Come on in. What brings you here so soon?"

I entered the kitchen and shut the door behind me. "There was something we forgot to give Marlow."

"Oh, well she's upstairs. Want me to go get her?"

"Nah, that's alright. I'll go find her myself."

I left the kitchen and went through the living room where I saw Paul playing video games, not even noticing me. I walked up the stairs and came to a room where the door was cracked.

I peeked in to see Marlow laying on a bed with Zane on top of her. They were kissing and being all lovey dovey. I admit, I felt a little jealous of Zane. Marlow's such an amazing girl.

But I probably never had a chance. She was already so close to Zane before I'd even met her. I inwardly smiled and shook my head. I decided to leave them be and quietly went back downstairs.

I went back to the kitchen where Jasper quietly ate some slices of ham. "Did you find Marlow?"

"Yeah, but she's kind of busy with Zane right now."

"Oh, I see," he calmly stated as if unfazed by the thought.

I dug into my hoodie pocket and pulled out the envelope. I set it down on the table in front of him.

"Can you make sure she gets this?" I asked.

Jasper nodded. "Sure."

I quietly left through the back door and headed back into the woods toward home.

Marlow's pov

After spending a little while with Zane, we decided to head downstairs for a snack. Oliver came out of his room around the same time and followed us down. Paul paused his game and looked back at us.

"Are you guys getting a snack? I'm a little hungry."

Zane sighed. "Well then get something to eat."

Paul laughed and got up, following us to the kitchen. "Glad to see you're injury hasn't changed you, Zane."

Entering the kitchen, Jasper was already there snacking on ham. I noticed an envelope on the table and picked it up.

"What's this?"

Jasper swallowed his food and said, "Jeff came by. He wanted me to make sure you got that."

I took a seat and opened the envelope. The boys all gathered around me to see what it was. Inside was a small letter that I read to myself.

Dear Marlow,
Thank you for all of your help in dealing with the Nighthunter problem. We wouldn't have been able to succeed without you and your pack. And even though you don't live with us, know that you will always be welcome in our household. All of you are part of the creepypasta family now.
Yours truly, Slenderman

P.S. The others had some photos they wanted you to have.

Behind the letter was several photos. The first one showed Ben and Paul playing video games with the others cheering them on.

"Hey, I remember that," Paul said. "That was when Zane was unconscious."

I flipped to the next photo. It showed Oliver sitting uncomfortably between Masky and Hoodie while Toby peeked over the couch at him.

The next photo showed Jeff and Ben with masks on and jumping out at Paul, Jasper, and Oliver. While Paul and Oliver looked terrified, Jasper still had his neutral expression. Of course he wouldn't be scared.

Another photo showed Ben drawing on Paul's face while he slept. One showed two Jeff's standing side by side, one of them obviously one of my boys in disguise. Another had Jack, Jasper, and Slender reading books.

"I had no idea you guys did all this in the time that Zane was injured," I told them.

The last picture was of my boys and me asleep on the couch after the horror movie. I smiled as I gazed down at the picture. Though the Nighthunters are gone, there are still many dangers out there. But at least we will always have a safe haven with our creepypasta family.
