"Come on Rukky, push them back push them, don't let that tears fall" Ameela said, annoying me even more.

I closed my eyes, trying to gush back my tears "Ameela just leave me alone, that dumbo tailor hasn't finished sewing my clothes. That means i have nothing to wear for eid tomorrow" I buried my face in my hand, my blood boiling up in anger.

"Please chill, he promised to finish it today"

"How many tailors have made that kind of promise? i just hope he fulfills it" I murmured.

Today was the 29th day of Ramadan, masha Allah and Tomorrow would be Eid el fitr in sha Allah. We came back to Kano the next day after mama and baba left. Ameela decided to follow me since it was only once she did her Eid there, besides it would be great fun to have her around. Today, after we woke up, hajia mama asked us to go and buy somethings that labara hadn't bought the other day for the eid food preparations. The day was quite sunny and hunger was literally killing me. After we bought anything needed, we dropped in to the tailor's. But that niggah wasn't done with any of my clothes to which i got really pissed. I couldn't imagine myself in my room, under my puff, wearing my jimjams throughout the Eid day while people are out there having fun and whatnot. I really can't stand doing my Eid without my kayan sallah. I would probably go batty. That tailor should better fulfill his promise! Or else i'd haunt him is his dreams and squeeze his head and stab his eyes with Mileena's sharp knifes. He better do!

"The kitchen needs our attention, shall we?" Ameela spoke rubbing her palms together.

"Yeah we shall" I said wearily and followed her out of the room.

After spending 2 and half hours in the kitchen, baking some chocolate and velvet cupcakes; and frying cin cin, we finally went back to my room, tired out.

I jumped on my bed and sighed. Soon, i drifted into a deep slumber.

👑👑

"Mtsww danAllah ruqayyah change this channel, hakanan kawai ni banga amfanin bata lokaci kallon wa innan fina finan ba na turawa (I don't know why you people waste your time watching all these American movies) please change it to sunnah tv" Hajia mama ranted, removing her spectacles and keeping them on the coffee table.

I quietly and peacefully changed it to what she asked for. I was in no mood for hajia mama's endless rant and that tailor still hasn't called or brought my clothes which was the reason why i was still quiet and moody, it was already 8pm.

"Salamu alaikum" Ameela's voice interrupted my thoughts. Me and hajia mama answered before she walked inside and settled beside me. We totally forgot to buy the whip cream to put on the cupcakes, so she and laraba decided to quickly go and buy it.

"Welcome har kin dawo?" Hajia mama asked.

Ameela nodded "Yes hajia mama, but the bakery has already closed ma, we had to go to jifatu"

"Eyyah toh Sannu kinji" Hajia mama said and moved back her attention on the pantami's tafsir she was watching.

"Wata bata da kayan sallah (Someone doesn't have sallah clothes)" Ameela singsonged and chuckled, eyeing me.

I glared at her and hit her with the pillow that was on my laps. She was making me more angry and annoyed.

"You know what? Yoh should just do some combinations, put on an atamfa blouse and some normal pants then get a lace scarf and tie it on your head. Kaii Oh my God Baby you would absolutely look breathtakingly beautiful and be the latest trend in town" She blabbered and later let out a laugh.

Ya Allah! Ya Rabbi! What have i done to deserve a friend like this?

I totally ignored her and fixed my gaze straight on the tv. But ameela still didn't get the message, instead she nudged her shoulder with mine "There is something i have for you" She whispered annoyingly.

"What?" I asked plainly.

"Allah I'm serious, lemme show you" She said and pulled me up.

"What is the thing?" I asked and rolled my eyes, once we entered my room. She grinned and picked up a bag off the bed then handed it to me "Check it"

I gave her a questioning look before i did as she bade me. TA-DA it was my kayan sallah.

I didn't know when i let out a happy scream, jumping up and down like a kiddo. Well, don't blame me! Its my sallah clothes we're talking 'bout.

"What... How... Did the... Ameela how did you get them?" I said grinning from ear to ear, pulling out the clothes from the bag.

"Didn't he tell you that he would finish them today? Well, i went and thankfully he was almost through, so i waited until he was done, I couldn't stand seeing your face scrunched up as if ready to attack an enemy"

I gave her a side hug "Thank you my halimatus sa'adiya, You're a darling"

"I know i am" She said proudly and brushed her shoulders.

XXXXXXXX

"You can now look at yourself" Ameela uttered and handed me a mirror.

"Wow!" I cooed "I love the make up, thank you habeebty"

After we came back from the Eid prayer, ameela decided to glam my face up. This girl has make up skills I'm telling you. She did it just the way i told her to do, it wasn't heavy nor was it simple. She did me a smokey eyeshadow, contoured my face and highlighted the places that needed to be.

It was on point!

I stood in front of my vanity table, looking closely at the mirror, trying hard to fix my head tie. After 4mins of hissing and growling and whinging, I finally got it. I grinned at myself, pleased.

(Ameela)

Me and Ameela took some selfies before i started sending Eid messages to my friends and family.

"Ina 'yan matan gidan nan?" I heard a voice. Yasmeen's voice.

Seconds later, Yasmeen, Aseeya, Zahra and Islah walked into my room, all dolled up masha Allah.

"My babies are looking so beautiful masha Allah" I gushed and hugged each and every one of them. Ameela did the same before everyone found a place to sit while i walked out of the room, to get them something to eat.

"We can't possibly be indoor for the whole day, i think we should go and watch the hawan sallah, what do you think?" Aseeya was saying when i came in, with a tray full of drinks and snacks.

"Oh yes yes please, i'd love that" Ameela chirped and took a donut from the tray.

"Yes wallah, besides Baba garo, abdullah, ya usman, ya faruq and ya Al amin are going to do the hawa" Aseeya put in, munching on her second cupcake.

Yasmeen nodded, unable to talk because of the cupcake she was chewing.

"What are we waiting for then? Lets hit the road" Zahra said and we all stood to leave.

Me and zahra entered Aseeya's car while Ameela and islah entered Yasmeen's. Once we reached our destination, we parked and hopped out. Even though my head was ducked down, i could feel the eyes of people on us and it rattles me like hell. The place was really crowded. Thankfully, Aseeya had already spoke with one of her uncles and asked him to reserve some seats for us under a tent.

It took us almost 7mins to walk there. We settled in the front seats, the sun was blazing on us, thank God we all had our shades on. I watched the beautiful horses and their riders in awe. The riders were mostly wearing a zabbuni and a babbar riga on top then a rawani (turban). It was so masha Allah. Some people were chatting, laughing and some were jubilating because of the joy that comes when seeing your old friends. The ganga and the algaita people were playing continuously. That made me grin from ear to ear.

I took out my cannon camera and started to shoot. I have to take these special moments. Even to see a smile on a person's face is overwhelming.

I heard the girls laugh to which i turned and asked them what they were laughing at. "Look at that guy, wai son of the soil, babu na biyun shi, gaskia he has stole the show of this year's hawan sallah" Yasmeen said and laughed. I looked at the guy and burst into a series of laughter.

Without wasting time, i gave him one amazing shoot. I need a minute of silence for this guy, He killed it!

"Go Baba garo" Aseeya shouted and we all looked to the place.

It was now the tawaga of Alhaji abdullahi Muhammad Garo. The hakimin kano. Faruq's father, which they usually call Baba garo. He looked breathtaking in his blue and grey babban riga while all his companion were wearing only blue and a white turban.

Faruq, al amin and their ya usman were moving together in a horizontal line, you could barely recognize them because they all drew the hem of their rawanis up to their noses and were all wearing dark glasses. Nevertheless, they looked dashing as ever. I spotted their little 8year old brother, Abdullah. He was right between faruq and al amin.

Cute; it was the only word that could describe him.

They men waved at us and we did the same.

"Oh my God!" Zahra screamed and gripped on my arm. "This man is crazy" Islah yelled.

I too was gripping on zahra's arm tightly, telling the man in front of us to get out of our sight. He was holding a freakn snake.

He refused to go until aseeya's uncle, uncle bulama gave him some money. I swear I almost lost my breath. Why the hell would he bring a big snake like that around thousands of people? What if it mistakenly break free from his hold? He definitely was nuts.

After i composed my racing heart, i snapped the man. For memory purpose!

After four more tawagas, HRH Mai martaba Sanusi Lamido Sanusi came. The Emir of kano. He was dressed elegantly and looking breathtaking. People were cheering loudly as the ganga and algaita men played harder than before. I couldn't miss the moment.

I kept on capturing amazing shoots before we decided to leave for yasmeen's house.

Some one us splayed on yasmeen's bed while some splayed on the floor, exhausted. It was quite a sunny day!

We prayed asr and ate before the chatter break loose.

"Yoo y'll should get ready, Ya faruq just told me they're preparing a barbecue in baba garo's guest house and we are all invited, lets get going" Yasmeen informed and we all sat up from our respective positions.

"The struggle is real" I laughed at Aseeya that was trying to fix her gele in front of the mirror.

"I hate you" She whined "And i hate this thing"

Zahra helped her in fixing it because i suck at that. Thank God, I didn't waste much time doing mine. Soon, everybody was good to go.

✨✨✨

"Sorry, We can't let you enter not until you people show us your gate passes" One of the huge intimidating security men that we met at the gate spoke. They were wearing black suits and some dark glasses.

"Oh please" Yasmeen rolled her eyes "We don't have any gate pass"

"Then get lost" The other man said solemnly.

"Excuse me mister, we are not going anywhere" It was Aseeya's turn to speak. The first security man sighed obviously tired of the argument "Why did you come when you don't have any gate pass? You better go back from where you came"

"Who do you think you...." Aseeya started but I quickly cut her off "Chill out, why don't we call any of the men to take us in?"

"Let me try ya faruq's number" Islah said and brought out her phone from her satchel.

Much later, Faruq and Al amin emerged from the gate. Faruq ushered us in as al amin stood behind, talking to the security men.

"Aseeya and Yasmeen daman you guys are the ones that always start a fight" Faruq said, laughing at the expression on their faces. They were still angry at the security men.

The place was quite full with both genders. Some were already eating while some were even dancing, some were only sitting and some were chatting.

Aseeya introduced us to some of her female friends. Ammah (Aisha), sadeeqa (Deeqa), Firdausi (Fifido) and Jasmine. They were all friendly and pretty.

"Oh my God! Chief obi is here" Yasmeen said and we all looked to the direction. It really was him. "They are walking towards us" Ameela spoke with a grin. She is Chief obi's freak. One of the funniest comedian I know.

"Hey girls, meet Obi" Faruq said. "'Yan mata sannun ku, barka da sallah" Chief obi spoke in his crappy hausa and waved.

"Ohh! So You can speak hausa" Islah said and laughed. "Kamar jakin kano" He replied to which we all laughed.

"Are you guys friends?" Aseeya asked.

Al amin nodded "We started the same school before he transferred back to Uk"

"Wow! You guys never mentioned that" Yasmeen said and we all chuckled.

"Kunyi kyau, what are your names?" Chief Obi questioned. We told him our names before we all took a selfie with him.

"Ameenu i heard you getting hitched, is that so?" He asked al amin with a wide grin.

"Yep he is, the amarya is here sef" Faruq said pointing at me.

"Ah ah ah ah Amarya, Rukaya right?" Chief obi asked making me blush a little "Hmm Amarya tasha kamshi, Thats how you guys say it right?".

We laughed and chatted a little before the boys excused themselves.

"Mtsew" I heard Yasmeen hissed and murmured something that I couldn't make out. I could tell she was pretty angry. She kept tapping her foot, hissing and looking at a particular direction. I trailed her gaze and immediately understood 'everything'.

It was faruq and a girl which I remembered quite well was Jasmine. They were chatting and laughing, clearly having fun.

I smiled. Yasmeen was jealous!

"Yasmii" I nudged my shoulder with hers "What's up with you two?"

She furrowed her eyebrows obviously confused, so I pointed at faruq with my head. "Ohh" Her mouth formed an 'O' before she sheepishly blushed.

"Are you two...?" I asked dragging the 'two'.

"Well not really, we both actually haven't confessed but..." She paused "You know what i mean right?"

I nodded. They both love each other and they know quite well but haven't confessed yet.

"Do you think he loves me?" She asked as if there was 0% possibility.

"Of course Yasmeen, who wouldn't love a beautiful lady like you? Who indeed? You know when i saw your closeness I actually thought you people were dating" I shot her a reassuring smile and placed a hand on her shoulder "Trust me, i know he do, come on its even obvious"

She chuckled as her eyes lit up like the radiant sun up in the sky "But what is he doing with her?" She pouted a little. It was cute!

I shrugged "We'll get to know that"

"Salamu alaikum" It was a good looking bloke who said that.

"Wa alaikumussalam" I and Yasmeen replied simultaneously.

"How are you? Ya sallah?" He asked with a smile.

"Fine Alhamdulillah"

"Can i talk to you for a minute Yasmeen?" He asked scratching the back of his head. She eyed me obviously contemplating whether to go or not. I nodded and winked hoping she got the message 'Lets get faruq jealous'.

She nodded too and stood.

My eyes kept darting from where Yasmeen and that guy stood to where Faruq and jasmine were. Finally, after some minute faruq's eyes captured Yasmeen. I swear I didn't miss the frown that rolled over his face but he quickly replaced it with a small smile.

He told Jasmine something before moving to where Yasmeen stood. Boys!

She smirked when she saw him coming but continued talking with the other guy. His face was cold when he shook hand with the guy. Yasmeen totally ignored him and glued her gaze on the guy. Faruq must have noticed that because he was now talking to her. She kept shrugging and answering his questions briefly.

"Hey" Someone said from behind me making me quake a little.

"Al amin" I murmured and he smiled "I saw you sitting alone from the window upstairs, what are you doing?"

He now had his shades on, he was wearing a grey levels caftan. I had to admit, he looked snazzy.

"Ahh just watching those love birds" I smiled and moved my gaze to them. The guy was now gone. I guess Faruq had finally shooed him away. I just realized how the two of the match, they're perfect together masha Allah. I silently prayed to Al muhaymin, to protect them from any evil.

"Them?" He asked.

I nodded slightly "You know right?"

"Of course" He grinned "I'm not stupid, I know, the proximity wasn't just like that, there has to be something"

I smiled "Okay i just hope you don't have any hard feelings"

He chuckled "No, no big bro doesn't have any hard feelings, I'm absolutely supporting the relationship"

I sighed in a dramatic way "Thank God"

We drifted into another topic, walking aimlessly around the area. Until Aseeya texted me that it was time to go. We went back to Yasmeen's house and prayed magrib. Ameela suggested we should put on music and sway a little. It was fun fun fun fun.

It was around 9pm when everybody decided to leave.

Alhamdulillah.. I had to say it was such a memorable day as well as the best Eid ever.
