Al amin's P.O.V
"Thank you, i will give her a call in sha Allah." Aunty rahma said. She was my mother's elder sister, also living here in kano, I decided to pay her a visit because it had been so long since we met. I came back just some few weeks back from Canada, after bagging my bachelor's degree and MBA.
I smiled, "Alright, bye aunty."
My car was parked outside the house. As i was walked towards it, someone bumped into me and something poured on my clothes. It was a girl wearing hausa clothes, atamfa precisely and a big matching veil, probably around nineteen years old.
It was when i looked down at my kaftan, which were almost completely doused, that i noticed the thing that was spilled on me. It was fura.
Shocked and angry, before I could stop myself, I shouted, "Are you mad? Are you freaking blind? Do you realize what you've just done?"
I thought she was going to apologize but instead, "Hey! Watch your words mister, what just happened was a mistake, do you think what you've just said was a good thing? I wouldn't bump into you just like that, would i?"
Oh God! She should thank God she was a lady, I would have just punched her face right this minute.
She walked past me but I was too angry to let her go like that. I quickly blocked her way, removed her veil and cleaned my face with it, before i knew it she poured the remains of the fura on my face and clothes.
Again!!!!!!!
I didn't know what to do. I was exasperated, scratch that, I was in high dudgeon, this was the first time a lady did something like that to me.
I raised my hand to slap her, well, I wasn't really going to slap her just to intimidate her.
I don't beat women. Never.
She stepped back a little, "What the honey? Are you really going to slap me? You really mess with the wrong girl. Well.. listen I don't have your time but i'll surely give you an advice, you need it. Go and learn some manners, Okay?"
I looked at her with widened eyes, i was really shocked to stillness that I couldn't verbalize a word.
And that was how she left me there the rain beating down on me, I couldn't move, I felt as though my legs were glued to the ground.

After i got home, i saw faruq my best friend waiting for me in my parlor, i plumped down on the couch beside him, ignoring the weird look he was giving me. I was drenched and mighty cold.
When I looked up at him, I saw him still staring, "What?"
"You just came in saying nothing to me not even a salam and just look at yourself, soaked to the bone and shivering, man what exactly happened.?" He asked with raised eyebrows.
I didn't utter a word. I didn't wanna talk about this right now.
"I'll be back in a few." I managed to voice out before dashing into my bedroom.
My complete charcoal grey room that always instilled a peaceful, neutral atmosphere and gave off a masculine vibe couldn't even enliven my mood right now.
I took a quick shower before throwing on a white t shirt and a black sweatpants then walked back to the parlor.
"Hey." I mumbled, retaking my spot next to Faruq as he played Fifa.
"Now, care to explain?" He asked, pausing the game, with a serious expression.
I took in a deep breath. I really wasn't in the mood but i knew he would annoy me to death if I didn't tell him. So I explained everything.
He began laughing hysterically which earned him a deathly glare.
He playfully coughed, trying to cover up. "I think something just choked me."
I threw a pillow at him to which he skilfully dodged. Moron.
"I have to find that girl and teach her a lesson." I said through gritted teeth. I still couldn't believe that such a slip of a girl actually did that to me.
"No abokina don't say that, first of all where on earth are you going to find her? What if she doesn't live her? You both have your problems, you especially, so just take a chill pill and forget about her. My advice." He gave me pointed look and took a sip of his drink.
"Why would i do that? see, as i said earlier, i will find her and I will surely teach her a lesson."
He shrugged, resuming back to his game, "Well, good luck with that but please you might want to think about it again, before you do something you'll later regret which will be too late, please learn to forgive and control your anger."
I ignored him and snatched a control pad from the glass centre table.
I have to find whosoever that girl is, and surely she will pay for what she did..
Rukayya's P.O.V
Two weeks had gone by in a blur, i was now in katsina and already spent three days.
I was in Ihsan's bedroom, Ya husna's daughter, my one and only niece. She kept on blabbering about her school, friends and baby dolls. Of course, she was a talkative, she probably couldn't do four good minutes without talking.
"Hey guys, i want to go to the grocery shop, you want to join?" Ya husna asked as she stepped into the room, draping her big veil around her body.
"Yes" Ihsan and I yelled in excitement.
"Good heavens!" Ya husna shook her head, "Oya, lets go. And don't waste my time."
We were now in jafatu and i really couldn't stand ihsan anymore. She had been playing around, taking this, throwing that, pushing things and that made me so irked.
"Ihsan, stop that nonsense." I warned.
It was either my face didn't look that menacing or she was just too stubborn. The kid literally grinned at me, unbothered and pushed a stack of cartons.
"Run for you life." I shouted at her.
She began running here and there with me following behind steamed up, people were staring but I didn't care.
I stopped when she suddenly disappeared.
After some minutes of searching, I finally spotted her with a guy holding her hand as they walked towards me.
"Now who is that guy?" I asked no one in particular, staring at them with narrowed eyes.
As soon as they stopped in front of me, i shot her a deathly glare and quickly reached for her hand.
"Hide me, she's going to beat me" She ran behind the guy.
The guy's gaze was so piercing and intense that I had to immediately look up at him. I stepped back noticing the anger on his face. He looked scary but...
'What did i do?' I thought to myself.
But he looked vaguely familiar.
I racked my brain, trying so hard to remember where i knew him and it instantly clicked like a lightbulb.
Oh my God! Hajiya mama... Fura... Kano... OMG He's that crazy guy i fought with.
A frown slowly made its way onto my face, "What? Why are men so shameless these days? Hello! Lower your gaze."
He didn't utter a word, he only stood there staring at me, now a blank expression on his face.
I carefully moved back a little. Well, in case if the need to dodge some slaps or punches arose.
"Rukky where is ehsan? Lets go and pay..." Ya husna paused as she observed something in front of me, probably the guy, perhaps thinking what on earth her sister was doing with a nutsy man like him.
She suddenly grinned and stepped beside me, "Al amin, so you're here? My goodness, Its been so long, when did you come back from Canada?"
Wait, she knows that guy. No, no and no this is not possible.
He grinned, for the first time, "Ya husna, just two weeks back, we haven't spoken for awhile, ina yini? (Good afternoon) how have you been?"
"I have been good Alhamdulillah, what about you? and why are you here?" She asked her grin broadening, I almost grunted.
"I came here for a wedding... my friend's wedding." He said before tucking a hand into his pocket while the other one went up to the back of his neck.
I was absolutely perplexed.
"Mashaa Allah that's great, Al amin when is yours then? Ha'an bring out a wife already. I have to call sakina, we seriously need to start planning your wedding soon." She joked and turned to face me, "Ruqayyah don't you know how to greet your elders?" Her tone wasn't that serious but it wasn't soft either but I didn't care, she literally just scolded me in front of the guy.
"Um-um errr... Hey" I reluctantly spoke to avoid another embarrassment.
He shook his head, "You know, Ya husna this is just how kids are these days. Sai hakuri."
What the hell? did he just call me a kid? how dare he?
'Take a chill pill. Just leave him, act like he doesn't exist...' My inner voice consoled.
I kept on tapping my foot impatiently and after some minutes of chit chatting in the middle of the store and annoying me more, they finally said their goodbyes and I quickly made my way to the counter.
But guess what...???
She came with that guy again.. and he paid the freakin bill.
I was now fuming with anger. Why would he pay? It was not like we didn't have our money right? besides, it was really non of his business.
I angrily shot the door of Ya husna's car after settling at the passenger's seat.
I could see from the side of my eye Ya husna laughing but her hand was clasped to her mouth probably trying to mask the sound.
"Its not funny" I muttered.
"Rukky.. Subhanallah why are you so stubborn? look at how you're sulking kada kisa motana ya kama da wuta." She joked which made me more annoyed.
I rolled my eyes and took out my phone from my bag, ignoring her completely.
"Please and please learn to control your anger, you know its really bad..." She paused looking at the road and then continued, "He is Al amin, the only son of Alhaji tafida, Alhaji muhammad tafida, dad's closest friend and business partner. I'm very sure you know who sakina is, a very good friend of mine she's the eldest daughter and yasmeen is the youngest, so al amin is basically their only brother and the only son."
I gasped in shock, my eyes widened, my mouth parted, deffo like a fish out of water.
I couldn't believe my ears.
Was he really the al amin i last saw 6yrs ago? As in the al amin al amin?? How didn't I recognize him? Wow! He really changed, handsome, and....
'Shut up... Hello!!! remember what he did to you, you will never forgive him for that.. Remember remember remember dumb head' my subconscious reminded.
I looked at her, "You.. He... How?... look i don't care, whosoever he is, I don't care, I will never forgive him, he's the fura guy i told you about yesterday."
Ya husna shook her head in utter disbelieve and opened her mouth to talk when i quickly beat her to it, "Please ya husna I don't wanna hear anything, let's talk about something else please, the fact that that guy is baba's best friend child doesn't mean i will forgive him, so i will be really really really really, really really really..." The way ya husna was looking at me and giving me the are-you-okay look made me burst out laughing.
"You sure need to see a doctor immediately you get back to abuja, I will call mama and inform her that their auta has gone nuts."
