As the three were following Shinichi, Kurisu and Okabe, they have noticed that three were talking about something so strange that they do not understand if they are talking science fiction or not at the night streets of Beika District. "World Lines? Butterfly Effect? LHC?" Mitsuhiko asked. 

"I think its wrong to follow them, Mitsuhiko," Ayumi told him but Mitsuhiko answered her, "If you want to go home, go on home. I want to follow them."

"Can I, too?" Genta asked until Shinichi and his companions went inside a large building where Ayumi and Genta decided to part ways from Mitsuhiko. 

"You too, Genta?" Mitsuhiko was so disappointed.

"Yes. I am a bit scared of what Shinichi-neechan has told us before and they're talking about something really dangerous!' then, Genta held Ayumi's hand and they both left while Mitsuhiko stayed to follow. 

Not long after, Mitsuhiko saw the three were waiting for the elevator's door to open at the ground floor of the hotel. He was hiding at the back of the white, angel fountain inside but then, he was surprised when Kurisu found him snooping around the place. He tried running but Shinichi and Okabe caught him.

"I told you not to follow us!" Shinichi angrily told him.

"B-But..." Mitsuhiko was about to cry when Okabe interrupted. "He had heard enough. Let's bring him along."

"Are you sure, Okabe?"

"Yes, Cristina, my loyal assistant!"

"I told you long ago! There's no -tina and I'm not your assistant!"

Shinichi just sweatdropped. Their tsundere actions are showing up again. "Can we just go? She's waiting for us."

"Not us. Just you," answered Makise.

Shinichi's eyes widened in surprise. He couldn't believe that Vermouth just wanted to meet her, now that he is back in his original body form. 

"We have other business at that party. Most of all, we will just look after you there."

"I understand."

When they were finally at the party, the conference hall were all filled with known men and women all over the world. Mitsuhiko looked over at them and he felt that they were all serious. Okabe lead the group at the back and looked all over the place and motioned for Kurisu to stay focused as they wait for the person that they will meet at the time. Shinichi will meet Vermouth while them would meet an unknown inventor but they needed to take it secretly to him or else, Shinichi would lose their trust to them. 

That is also the reason why they made Mitsuhiko come with them. When Shinichi already saw Vermouth near the bar, Shinichi quickly sat beside her to talk about things she wanted to know.

When Shinichi was already immersed in talking to her, Kurisu and Okabe told Mitsuhiko to keep his eyes on Shinichi and Vermouth. "Where would you go?" asked Mitsuhiko.

"Just outside. We will just be away for a while. Stay focused and don't make Vermouth know someone is guarding him," Okabe told him.

"Right!" Mitsuhiko told him. Then, Okabe and Kurisu quickly meet up with the inventor which Shinichi knows best. Yes. That is Professor Agasa.

Professor Agasa actually do not know anything about what had happened to Conan after leaving but he just came up at that hotel in her worry for Ai Haibara who seemed quite depressed and when he knew that Ai had helped them make a stronger antidote for Shinichi, he knew that to track down Shinichi, he has to make interactions to two of known Japanese scientists. Yes, they were already known even though they were still students of Tokyo University. 

Most of all, his father is also returning from Geneva, Switzerland to check his studies while helping out Shinichi. 

"Professor Agasa... Is my father, Okabe Hikaru... truly is coming back?"

"Yes, he did tell me that he wants you to know that he is returning to help you with something which he entrusted to you. He said that you are busy about helping a man currently."

"Professor Agasa, I do think we have to go back to the party already. Someone is waiting for us inside," Okabe told him.

"Rintarou, there's only one question I actually want to know," Okabe looked at him confusedly and he continued talking, "Do you know Yusaku Kudo?"

Okabe sighed in relief. He thought that he'll be asking about Shinichi. "He's my father's friend, yes."

Agasa smiled and looked happy at him, "Then I know now that everything is fine..."

What the two do not know was that, Mitsuhiko hasn't done his job right. His eyes didn't follow where Vermouth lead Shinichi and so, when Rintarou and Kurisu returned inside, he doesn't know what he will tell the two and so, he thought that he must quickly make an excuse but when he finally saw where Shinichi and Vermouth were, he felt relieved until the two reunite to him.

"How is it?" asked Okabe.

"Just fine," Mitsuhiko told them.

"Where are they?" asked Kurisu.

He pointed where the two were seating but, what Mitsuhiko doesn't know was that, Vermouth had just seen them making Vermouth angry at Shinichi for lying that he hadn't brought others but still, Vermouth sighed and told Shinichi, "If you don't want them to be in danger and make other members know that you are Kudo, leave at once before they even see you."

"What about you?" asked Kudo.

"I'm fine. Just leave at once," Vermouth told him. 

Shinichi quickly went beside them but what he doesn't know was that, most Black Organization agents saw him and knew that he is Kudo Shinichi.  The men in black quickly followed them and fired a bullet at them in the party and so, Okabe quickly held Kurisus's left hand and rushed Shinichi Kudo to run away. 

With his cellphone, he quickly called Jodie Starling and explained the situation. As they wait for the FBI to come and help them, Okabe did his best to protect all of his current companions at that time and even pulled a gun to fight against those people who wanted them dead. Of course, that surprised Kurisu but Okabe told him, "I'm a man, I asked the FBI to train me so that I can protect you against them when necessary."

"Okabe!" screamed Kurisu with full of worry as Okabe kept firing bullets against their enemies. Okabe was able to strike some enemies who kept following them at that floor but, he was suddenly struck with it on his right arm which caused him to bleed seriously which saddened Kurisu so much and Mitsuhiko blame himself for following them. He didn't know that what Shinichi warned them was true.. The hotel's security was also alerted and even some Japanese Police. began going up at that floor to fight those agents

They were able to get inside an elevator as their enemies still kept running and firing at them. Of course, Okabe still kept fighting them even though he is wounded. He was the last to get inside the elevator. 

When he is already in, Okabe quickly pushed the G button to run away from their perpetrators. When the door finally closed, a bullet still entered. Okabe was able to see who will be struck with it and so, Okabe quickly made Kurisu duck with his left hand at her shoulders until the elevator's door was the one struck with it. Kurisu screamed and as the elevator go down, Kurisu quickly saw Okabe bleeding so much.

"OKABE!" cried Kurisu. Okabe held on his wounded arm and saw blood dripping hard. The wound was really painful that it makes him dizzy and so, Kurisu told him to take off his black coat for a while to use it as a towel to help stop the bleeding. Kurisu also asked him to seat for a while. 

Shinichi clutched his fists and  punched Mitsuhiko's face. "If you hadn't followed us, this wouldn't have happened!"

His words quickly made the two surprised. "Don't blame him for what happened. If there's someone whom you have to be angry with, then that is me. I dragged him along to us. He's innocent and most of all, he doesn't understand what is happening and why they are chasing you."

"But... I know for sure that it all began when he told you where we are!"

"Its all because I asked him where you are!" screamed Okabe. Then, he suddenly felt ill all over a sudden.

Kurisu quickly tried to stop Shinichi's angry outbursts until they reach the ground floor. 

Jodie quickly called Okabe's phone while the FBI finally took place over the Japanese Police to capture some Black Org agents  and told him that they have already reached the hotel where they are. Okabe reported it to them and felt relieved. "We're saved. The FBI is already here. Also, she's waiting for us outside the hotel." 

The door finally opened when they reached the ground floor. Okabe Rintarou stood up and of course, Shinichi carried him as they walk out of the hotel. 

Jodie was ,of course, shocked to see a wounded Okabe. She quickly asked all of them to get inside her car so that they could bring Okabe to a doctor but when she saw Mitsuhiko standing, Jodie asked them, "Who is he? Why is a junior high school student here?"

Okabe opened his eyes inside the light green car and answered her, "I dragged him along to our mess."

Jodie faced him and her face is evidently angry. She was about to lecture them but Mitsuhiko told him, "I... I followed them!" cried Mitsuhiko. Mitsuhiko hugged himself with full of guilt and sadness but Jodie embraced him instead and said to him, "Brave, young boy... don't cry!"
