"Hmm... You seem to be getting better, albeit in a weaker state."

I don't remember falling asleep...
My arms are heavier than usual....
"We'll just move this dog over...."
Something was moving me.
It didn't feel right.
Something was in my territory.
Get out of my territory.
I jumped up from my spot, ignoring the invisible heavy weight on me.
There was a human male kneeling next to Raven.
Another male, in my territory?
He was too close to her.
On pure instinct I growled.
He looked shocked, but remained his ground.
"Well, hello there." He gave me a friendly smile, but that still didn't ease the tension in the room.
"Who are you?" I growled out.
"Oh yeah, I guess we never properly met, huh?" He put his hand out.
"I'm Deric, Raven's boyfriend." He had this sickly sweet smile. He was testing me.
I only glared at him and his hand.
He awkwardly put his hand away, placing it on top of Raven's sleeping body.
I didn't like that.
"Calm down I'm not going to hurt her. I'm her boyfriend, after all. What kind of boyfriend would hurt their significant other?"
Saying that still won't make me trust you...
"...How did you even get in?" I asked, eyeing his every move.
"Well she gave me a key, obviously!" And sure enough he produced a small, silver key from his pocket.
"We've been together for quite awhile that it would practically be a crime for me not to have this! We've been together since high school." He dangled that key around, purposely making it emit the most obnoxious noise.
"I didn't hear you come in..."
"Well you were pretty knocked out! I assumed you stayed up late or something for you to be in a state like that!"
I had been worrying about her for awhile so it wouldn't be entirely odd to have been tired, but something still seems off...
"Also I heard you called me a dog...!" This wasn't as important as other red flags that were popping up, but I was offended nonetheless.
"Oh my!  I thought you were a dog considering you were in your animal form! I should've been more careful with my words! My apologies."
"Animal form...?"
"Yes. When I got here you were in your animal form and I assumed that Raven had just gotten a new dog, I didn't realize you were actually....human? Is that the right way to put it?"
"....Alright." He seemed reasonable enough, so I decided to put my guard down a little.
"So.....why are you here?" I asked.
"Well, I wanted to check on my wonderful girlfriend! She hasn't been answering my calls so I got kind of worried and thought she may have been in trouble or something." He looked sadly at Raven.
"I guess I wasn't too far off....." He sighed.
He then got up and turned towards me, hands in his pockets, leaning back into the nearest wall.
"If I may ask, what are you doing here? I've never seen you around her before..." He mumbled the last part in confusion.
Was it confusion?
I looked back at him.
Of course he would be concerned about me considering he's never seen me, and all of a sudden I'm next to his girlfriend, while she's sleeping!
It would be best to tell him about my current whole situation.
"I'm just a friend." I spat out.
Wait. I didn't mean to say that. What happened to the whole "explaining the situation"? And why do I feel so angry?
"A friend? Hmmmm....." He closed his eyes, his breaths becoming slower and quieter by each passing second.
"...Alright. Then why are you at her house? And don't say because you're her friend." He asked.
"Well... Her other friends wanted me to watch her while they went out and do some things." I was slowly putting my guard back up.
He closed his eyes again, once again back in deep thought.
"Okay, alright. I believe you." He started to shimmy his way out of the door.
"I have some things to do. Tell her that I love her whenever she wakes up. Later." And with that he left.
".....will do." I bitterly mumbled.

"Mmmmgggghhhh........hhh....."

I rushed over to Raven, kneeling by her bed.
It's been an hour since that Deric guy left and I still have yet to leave her side. If anything that encounter made me more focused on Raven.
She slowly sat up, rubbing the sleep out from her eyes while yawning a very cute yawn.
"Mmgggppphhhh.....what time....is it?" She sleepily asked me.
"It's 8:27."
"8:27? Uhghhhh....." She started to get up.
"I gotta make dinner.... Anything you want specifically?"
"Maybe you should stay in bed and get more rest?"
"I've been resting way too long for comfort. I'll be making burgers tonight, by the way. Have the gang come back yet?"
"No they haven't."
There was an awkward silence.
"So..... I, uh, never knew you had a boyfriend." Where did this come from? What is going on with me???
"......" She was silent.
".....How...." Her voice was oddly quiet.
"How did you know....?" She asked, stopping dead in her tracks.
"He, uh, came in to see if you were alright."
"Did you let him in?" Her tone was getting more and more anxious?
"No he, um, uh, let himself in. He said you gave him a key or something along those lines..." There was this bad sensation stirring deep within my chest.
"A key...Okay. Yeah." She took a deep breath and then resumed back to whatever she was doing.
"....Is there something wrong, Raven?" I cautiously asked.
There was no answer.
I decided to just drop it and turned in early for the night.
The crew came back several hours later, judging by the sudden loud chatter and laughter emitting from outside my room.
No...this isn't my room. It's just a guest room. But I was currently using it, so it would be my room...?
My head felt like it was splitting in two.
Everything felt weird.
The warmth that I had once felt had been replaced by a cold and eerie sensation, heavily weighing down on me.
It was a sensation of foreboding. Terrible foreboding.
The air felt dryer than usual.
I suddenly felt chills run down my spine and I quickly ducked under the covers.
I don't know why, but I felt as if there was something very wrong.
That something was watching me in the shadows.
Also, when did I have a hole in the back of my neck....?
