*No one's POV*

The entire car ride was silent as the talk before was till hanging in the air. Yami was in the front while Yugi, Heba and Kaiba were in the back. Kaiba had to sit in the middle due to the attitude of Yugi's look-alike. Atem took a different car because he had to collect his thoughts.

He had heard the talk between his brother and Takashi this morning, fuming that the fact his brother could be feeling something for another male. Which his father has threatened them both not to do. 

Heba has always been the person to listen to listen to EVERYTHING he was told. So his father hated people who liked the same gender. So he was sure to keep his brother away from Yugi.

"Man isn't there supposed to be a test or some sort today?" Kaiba asked and Yugi sighed out loud. 

"Yes, and I haven't managed to study at all. I'm gonna cram some studying in when we get there," Yugi said and Heba scoffed. He wanted to say something but a death glare from his brother shut him up.

They arrived at the school and Heba jumped out running away from the group. "Welp, he'll take same time to hang with us," Kaiba said and wrapped his arm around Yugi. "Perhaps we should all study together?"

"I don't believe in last minute studying, I'll wait in the classroom," Yami said and walked off. Even though he wanted to stay near Yugi and protect him, he still felt uneasy being around Kaiba.

So he too took of and planted himself in the room. A new teacher was there, but Yami paid not much attention. Instead of any sort of studying, he pulled out a blank piece of paper and started to jot down the layout of Yugi's house. 

Yugi said since they will be sharing the room, he had a spare open door closet Yami could do whatever he wanted with. So he decided to change it into his own room to where he can man stuff, have hidden weapons inside the house and set up cameras. He had an idea in his head and wanted to ask if Yugi would learn how to use a gun.

Soon enough time caught up with Yami and the bell went, students started to pile in and Yugi wondered in sitting beside Yami. "Our teacher told us we would just merge class, so guess who you will be sitting with for a while," Yugi beamed and Yami had to stop the smile creeping up on him.

"Guess that's good. What about Heba though?" Yami asked and looked around worried for his little brother. He has never joined or talked to someone outside the mansion, so his social skills were worse than Yami's.

Yugi didn't have time to answer before the teacher had walked in and told everyone to sit down. Each person was given the test and told they had an hour to complete it. And this was the moment you saw multiple different types of people.

Some, like Yami, were confident about it. Some were not really caring, like Kaiba and now Joey had endered. No and just answering not thinking about the questions. A few, were cheating. Having notes tucked under their sleeves. Then you had people like Yugi, who was freaking out because all the notes he looked at vanished from his head.

Half an hour in and some of the people that picked on Yugi before looked between him and Yami. One smirked and while the teacher had their back turned, managed to slip an answer sheet into Yugi's desk without him noticing. 

The time was finished and the teacher walked around and gathered everyone's paper, but their face turned when they saw a corner of a paper at Yugi's desk. She sighed and asked him to stand up, everyone's gaze turned to him. 

Yami saw to two of them giggling at each other and he was ready to throw fists. "Mr Muto, what is this? I thought better of you than cheating," she said and had disapproval on her face. 

"W-What no! They're not mine! I don't even know why they're in there..." Yugi mumbled and held his head down. He was ashamed even though he didn't do anything wrong.

"I'm sorry but you're going to have to stay behind after school..." the teacher said and Yugi sat down keeping his eyes on the floor. The teacher left the room and the students all started to talk, Joey walking over to Yami. 

"Dude I feel kinda bad for that Muto person," Joey said and looked over at the group of three. "His friend is cute though, I'll give him that."

Yami wasn't listening to his best friend go on about some boy crush, he was looking at the guys that got Yugi into trouble. His motto was, if you're going to get someone into trouble, you need to be prepared to get into trouble yourself right?

He got up from his seat and walked over, the two looking up and feeling nervous at the sight of Yami. "What's up Sennen?" they asked and he smirked. Yami grabbed one of them by their collar and brought them up from their chair. "Dude what the fu-"

"You know what I can do to you, so if I were you, I'd own up to wait I did right fucking now," Yami growled and tighten his grip on the collar. "DO IT!!"

The teacher walked back in and saw the comotion, jumping to them and placing a hand on Yami's shoulder.

"M-Mr Sennen, please let him go. I don't want to have to report you as well..." the teacher mumbled and Yami glared at her. 

"Expel these assholes and I will put them down," Yami demanded and the teacher looked lost in thought. "Are you really trying to think this through. Are you going to allow cheaters in this school and troublemakers?"

"Alright alright, I will send them to the principal's office but Mr Sennen you will have to stay behind today due to violence," she said and Yami smiled putting the guy down. He returned to his seat where Joey was confused out of his mind.

The rest of the day was boring for Yami, not a single class with Yugi. He had one with his brother and Kaiba in as well but nothing happened of interest. The final bell went and Yami was making his way to the detention room until a female stopped him. 

"Hello Yami, detention this time?" she asked and Yami went to walk past her but she put a arm against the locker. "Don't ignore me."

"What do you want Anzu?" Yami asked and she smiled. Using her free hand, she placed it on his stomach and started to move down. "Sorry, don't think I can give you my abbs."

"No, I want us to be in a be-"

"Mr Sennen, this way please," a new teacher said and Yami smiled moving from Anzu and entering the room. This room was clearly not used very often as it looked dull. "Now I will return shortly, both of you stay in here and don't leave."

They left the room and Yami heard Yugi sigh, placing his head down on the desk. 

"I'm getting a drink for us, might as well have something while we're gonna be here right?" Yami said and went to leave. "Have anything you want over something?"

"O-Orange juice I guess?" Yugi asked with a shy smile and a taint of red on his checks. Yami nodded his head and walked the empty corridor to the vending machines and put two coins in. With two cans in hand he made his way back and saw Yugi in the same place he left him.

He knocked on the door not to startle him but saw no movement. Yami let himself in and whistled but still nothing came from the smaller. So he went to the front of Yugi, blocking the sun from getting to him and saw he fell asleep.

Yami couldn't stop the smile creeping up on him and moved a strand of hair out of Yugi's face. He felt himself getting warm inside looking at the other, not wanting anything else but to protect him from anything.

Which brought him back to this mornings talk with Takashi. 

"Number one to know you're in love, you have this desire to protect them at all times."

Yami didn't want to accept that he loved him, he will never feel love for another man. But there was....something there....

Alright a new chapter down, also I have found a new love. Well I still love Yu-Gi-Oh, but this is something I should of gotten into a while ago. Detroit become Human. I love the pairing of Connor and Hank and am really debating in doing a story of them. What do you guys think?
