Wooyoung stood off to the side while Seonghwa unlocked the door to his small apartment right behind the diner. "This is convenient."
"Yeah, it's nice being so close so I can keep an eye on the place. Especially for when I need to leave Jongho in charge." The older chuckled and ran a hand through his hair. "That boy is going to be the death of me I swear."
"Then why do you leave him in charge?" Wooyoung asked, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. This wasn't the first time he had heard Seonghwa complain about this particular helper.
"Because he's damn good at his job, he can just get a little scatterbrained sometimes. Plus he's my cousin so it's not like I can really fire him." Seonghwa gave him a sheepish smile before stepping inside.
The younger just chuckled. He never knew that Jongho was related to Seonghwa, but it made sense. Seonghwa really only got angry at people he cared about because he just wants to see them succeed.
As he stepped into the apartment, Wooyoung looked around, keeping his lips pressed together. This was one of the few times that he felt ashamed of his job...
Seonghwa's apartment was old. It had creaky wooden floors, peeling pale yellow paint, the counters and cabinet doors were falling apart, and all of the appliances looked worn down.
Wooyoung's heart hurt when he thought about the fact that he could help Seonghwa get a much nicer place... but he also knew the cook would never accept it.
"It's not much, but it's home." Seonghwa turned around and gave Wooyoung a genuine smile. "Although it is only a one bedroom."
"I'm ok with sleeping on the couch, Hwa. Hopefully I won't have to be in your way for too long."
"Woo..." Seonghwa gave him a sad look and came over to pull him into a hug. "You won't be in the way. My door is always open to you. I think it will be nice to have some company besides my cousin, so please don't worry about it, ok?" He rubbed the back of Wooyoung's head and they stood there for a long moment. "Alright, I'll get you some sheets and we can get you situated."
Wooyoung nodded and chewed on his lip as he looked around again. Maybe he would try to fix up a few things while he was here to try and pay Seonghwa back for taking him in.
After he got situated on the couch, Seonghwa handed Wooyoung the tv remote. "I'm going to head back over for the night shift, just call the diner if you need anything and come through the back door when you get hungry ok?"
"Thanks Hwa, I will." Wooyoung watched Seonghwa leave and pulled it both his phones. With the one, he sent a text to Roger letting him know that he was settled at Seonghwa's place, and he sent one to Yeosang to let him know the same thing. His friend was at the airport waiting for San to land.
Then he went to the other phone and tried not to let himself get too disappointed when there was no text or call from Lila. He pulled up her number and tried calling her again. It was still ringing, so he was happy to see that. She hadn't blocked him yet...
But why was she still not answering? Did Nate take this phone?
Or maybe... Maybe Nate didn't know about it and that's why it hadn't been shut off. If she had tucked it in a bag somewhere then it's possible it could still be of use.
Wooyoung took his other phone and called Roger and he started speaking as soon as his manager answered. "Is it possible to track a phone?"
"What do you mean? Are you worried about Rachel finding you?" Roger sounded hesitant, as if he had thought about this too.
"No, no. I don't give two shits about her. The phone I bought for Lila. It's still on, so is it possible to track it's location?"
"Let me call the station." Roger said, an urgent tone to his voice. "Give me her phone number and I'll see what they can do. It's been long enough since any of you hav heard from her, we might even be able to file a missing person report."
"That would be good. Let them know that Nate has been stalking her, and all those things..."
"I will. I'll take care of everything. Keep your phone handy in case they need to talk to you, but don't keep calling her. Just in case he really doesn't know about the phone, you don't want to alert him to it. I'm sure the police will call it to try and trace it or something."
Wooyoung nodded. "Ok, I can do that."
"Alright, I'm going to call them. Sit tight and try to find something to do, ok?" Roger said carefully.
"I will, thank you Rog." Wooyoung said before his manager ended the called.
He let out a deep sigh and stared at the ceiling for only about a minute before he got bored. Wooyoung glanced at the kitchen again and pursed his lips before pushing himself off the couch, determined to find a toolkit or something he could use to make himself useful.

Later that evening, Lila looked up when she heard the lock click on her door. She stayed in the corner and brought her knees up to her chest.
Nate came in carrying a tray of food. He paused when he didn't see her on the bed, but he found her in the corner immediately. "What are you doing over there?" He asked, his forehead creased with concern.
Lila just glared at him and didn't say anything.
"I know you're upset with me, but I'm just trying to protect you. After seeing you with my razor back in Wyoming, trying to jump out of the car, and running into traffic earlier today? Do you really expect me to not take drastic measures?" He said, setting the tray down on the dresser and walking over to her.
She knew to some extent he was right. Her mind was not in a good place right now and if she had access to something, then there was a chanced she'd try again... But right now she was more scared of Nate than anything else.
Over the course of the day she had done her best to not think about Wooyoung or San. She had spent quite a bit of time trying to find something to pick the lock on the door. When that hand't been successful, she tried the window in her room, but it had been sealed shut.
Nate sighed and held out his hand. "Come on, I got you some shampoo and clean towels. I'm sure you'd like to clean up a little bit. It's been a long day."
Lila glanced up at him and almost declined, but a shower did sound nice. She took his hand and let him pull her onto her feet.
He led her out of the room and down the hall. "It's right in here. I've got everything set out for you." Nate whispered as he reached up and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"C-Can I have my bag please?" Lila asked, turning her head away from Nate's touch.
"I'll put it in your room for you."
Lila nodded and stepped into the bathroom. She watched as Nate closed the door, then flinched when she heard it lock.
He had switched the lock on this door too...
Feeling overwhelmed, Lila leaned against the wall for a moment before she took a look around the bathroom. The tub was larger than normal, and it looked like he had paid for a nice shower head. He had set shampoo and conditioner out for her. Lila couldn't help but be slightly impressed. He had bought a really good brand.
She slowly started to strip and set her clothes on the counter, then turned the water on and waited for it to get hot before stepping in.
It instantly soothed her muscles and she elected to just stand there for several minutes before turning to grab her shampoo.

Wooyoung had just finished fixing up the cabinet doors in the kitchen when the front door opened. He stood up to see Seonghwa walking in. "Welcome home!" He said with a bright smile.
The cook paused and arched an eye brow, "What are..." He hesitated then stepped aside. "You have visitors."
Roger walked in followed by three officers, each carrying a small box. "Thanks Seonghwa. We won't be here long. Wooyoung, come. We are going to try tracking that cell phone."
His heart skipped a beat as he followed them to the living room. He glanced over his shoulder once and saw Seonghwa looking around his kitchen with a hand over his mouth.
"Wooyoung, sit here." Roger directed.
The officers worked quickly to set up some machines. "Ok, we are going to tap into your phone and try to trace where the call goes." One man said. "I know this is going to be difficult because we don't know what her situation is, but we will keep trying until we can't get through, ok?"
"How quickly will you be able to track it when she answers?" Wooyoung asked, suddenly feeling nervous. If she answers...
"Fairly quickly. We will motion for you to keep going until we get a lock on the signal. We are ready when you are."
Wooyoung took a deep breath. He felt a hand on his shoulder and looked up to see Seonghwa standing behind him. Pulling on the cook for strength, he nodded and opened his phone.
As he dialed, he switched it so that it was on speaker per the officer's request.
There was no answer the first time.
Trying not to feel discouraged, he tried again.
And a third time.
On the fourth call, someone answered, but all they got was silence on the other end.
The officers started working to find the location while one signaled for Wooyoung to start talking.
"Lila?"
There was no answer, but he could hear shuffling on the other end.
"Lila, please answer me..." Wooyoung tried to keep his voice strong, even though he could feel tears coming to his eyes. "Ok, if you won't talk to me then at least listen. I know what you saw, and I understand why you are upset. But I need you to believe me when I saw that I didn't know. You know how Rachel is... Lila, please just talk to me. I love you."
"She doesn't want you anymore." Nate's voice came on the other line. "I should have known she would be dating someone like you. She must have been so ashamed if she couldn't tell her friends about you. What did you do, pay her for sex? Buy her things? Blackmail her to stay with you after that interview?"
Wooyoung had to cover his mouth and his lower lip trembled. "N-Nate. Where is she?" The officer motioned for Wooyoung to keep talking. "What did you do with her?"
"That's none of your business. You have have thought she loved you, be she never did. She told me so. You were just something fun for her to be able to brag about. But now she's with a real man."
"That's not true! Where is she?"
"And there's nothing you can do about it." Nate continued as if Wooyoung hadn't spoken. "I've been patient while she was trapped with you. But now she's free. And she's mine."
The officer's motioned again but made it look like they were almost there.
"Nate please, let me talk to her. I just need to know she's ok."
The other scoffed. "Like I would let you do that. You might try to trap her again in your web of lies. Get this in your head. She. Doesn't. Want. You. She hasn't even cried over this thing that you say she saw. She's moved on. Don't call again. She's mine now."
The line went dead.
Wooyoung stared at his phone and covered his mouth again. Seonghwa squeezed his shoulders. "Did you get it?" The cook asked, looked at the cops. "Did you?"

Lila slipped into her clothes after drying herself off and wrapped her hair in a second towel. She felt a little better after the hot shower.
She glanced at the handle and didn't even bother trying, knowing it was still locked.
But it didn't stay locked for long.
The door opened and Nate immediately walked down the hallway.
Lila followed him slowly and stepped inside 'her' room.
"Did you enjoy your shower?" He asked. Nate was standing by the dresser, picking at the plate of food he had prepared for her.
"Yes, thank you." She answered, moving slowly to the bed. Her bag was sitting there as promised, but all of the pockets were open...
The air felt heavy as Lila's heart started to pound. Why had he gone through her things? She didn't have anything. She...
"So." Lila closed her eyes at his tone and then she heard the lock click once again. His tone had changed from the caring Nate from before the shower. "A celebrity. I should have known that's why you wouldn't tell us about him."
Her heart dropped. He had found her second phone. Wooyoung must have tried to call her...
Then he was behind her. She could feel his hot breath on the back of her neck. "You won't have to worry about him hurting you ever again." His voice was low and husky as he lifted a hand to rub the side of her neck.
"Don't touch me!" Lila stepped aside and held her hands to her chest. "You had no right going through my things!"
Nate's eyes narrowed. "When I hear a phone buzzing over and over I assume it's an emergency. Imagine my surprise when I find out that you have a secret second phone for your celebrity boyfriend. But don't worry. Like I said he won't be hurting you ever again. I've taken care of it."
"Give me my phone, Nate. It's not yours to take. Give it back!"
"No." He growled. "I can't risk you getting out and harming yourself again. You need to stay here with me, where you will be safe, and loved." He gripped her chin and leaned closer. "You need to stay with me."
Lila whimpered when he tighter his grip. She tried to pull away, but that just inspired him to pull her lips to his. He moved his his hand to hold the bottom of her jaw.
She brought her hands up to push him away, but he squeezed her tighter, starting to cut off her air flow.
"Don't worry, I'll always love you." He whispered against her lips, then released her and backed up. "Get something to eat. You must be hungry. I'll see you in the morning."
Lila sank to her knees as he left the room and locked her in once more, the click resonating in her mind as he was locked away in her new hell.
