Lila woke up when the bed next to her shifted and a soft hand brushing against her cheek. She let out a soft moan and opened her eyes to see the best sight she could have ever asked for.

"Hello love." Wooyoung whispered, leaning forward to give her a gentle kiss. He was in a pair of San's sweatpants but had yet to put a shirt on.

The memories of last night came flooding into her mind and Lila felt herself grow warm with a blush.

Wooyoung chuckled and brushed the hair out of her face. "How are you feeling?"

"Amazing." Lila pushed herself up, bringing the sheets with her to keep herself covered. A twinge shot through her lower back and she let out a sharp breath. "And a little sore."

"Sorry." Wooyoung rubbed the back of his head and bit his lip.

"I'm not."

The smile that crossed Wooyoung's face lit up the room as he leaned forward and kissed her one more time. "I made breakfast."

Lila leaned over to see the tray of pancakes, fruit, and orange juice. "That looks amazing. Thank you."

Wooyoung beamed and moved on the bed so they could sit together. She leaned into his side and watched as he carefully set the tray down on their laps.

They were just about to start eating when a cry came from the living room. "What the hell happened out here?! Lila?!"

"Oops..." Wooyoung said, flinching as the bedroom door was thrown open.

"Lila are you-" San hopped a couple of times to catch his balanced and looked at them both with wide eyes. Then they seemed to get even wider as he processed what was going on.

"San someone was in your room!" Yeosang called, then he too was in the doorway to Lila's room.

The couple in bed were both bright red as a heavy silence fell over them.

"Are you just going to stand there all day?" Wooyoung finally said.

San shook his head quickly as if snapping himself out of his stupor and then turned around quickly, shoving Yeosang out of the room. The door was slammed closed and Lila covered her face with her hands when both San and Yeosang could be heard giggling from the living room.

"That was my fault, I totally forgot you knocked over that end table." Wooyoung murmured.

Lila just turned to him and leaned her head against his shoulder. "They were going to find out eventually. It's ok." She picked up the fork and dug into the pancakes, humming happily in approval. "These turned out great."

Wooyoung laughed and lifted a thumb to brush the side of her lip, cleaning off some syrup. He sucked on his finger, then leaned in to kiss her forehead.

Lila felt like her heart was going to burst with how happy she was right now. She never wanted any of this to end.

But she almost never got her way...

Two months later, Lila was sitting at her desk at work listening to Abby talk about her newest potential boyfriend when her phone rang.

Normally she would ignore numbers that she didn't know, but it was her office phone, so she figured it must have been something important.

"This is Lila James." She said, wedging the phone between her ear and her shoulder.

"Ms. James, my name is Doctor Kim. Do you have a moment?"

Her heart started to pound. She knew that name.

"Y-Yes."

Abby poked her head over their divider and gave her a concerned look at the tone of Lila's voice.

"Ms. James, I have been taking care of your father for a couple of years now. I used to be an assistant to Ms. McFee."

That's how she knew him...

"I really hate to bring you this news over the phone, but your father isn't doing well. I know it's been a while since you've been by to visit, so you haven't gotten an update."

Lila suddenly felt incredibly guilty. It had been almost two years since she had seen her dad. The exact amount of time since she had left home and moved to L.A.

No... Ran away from home...

"Ms. James?"

"Um. What... What's going on?" She asked as her hands started to shake.

A hand squeezed her shoulder and she saw Abby standing there out of the corner of her eye.

"Your father is really sick, and... I'm afraid he's not going to be able to recover. You should come see him..."

A couple of tears ran down Lila's cheeks as she nodded. "Y-Yeah. I'll see what I can do."

"Ok, please call if you need anything."

"Thank you." Lila whispered before hanging up her phone.

"What's the matter honey? What happened?" Abby asked, moving to kneel in front of her.

Lila took a moment to collect her self. She had yet to full on cry, and she didn't know if she actually would. Right now she just felt... Numb.

"It's my dad... The doctors taking care of him think he doesn't have much longer..."

Abby pulled her into a tight hug. "I'm so sorry. What can I do?"

"Um. I don't know. I... I need..." Lila couldn't focus. Her head felt heavy as she tried to wrap her head around what she was feeling.

"Lila, honey, is there someone I can call for you?"

"Woo-" She paused and sucked in a breath. "Would... San..." She shook her head, trying to keep it clear.

Abby nodded and reached for Lila's phone. She had to make Lila put her thumbprint on it to unlock it and pulled up her contacts. "San? It's Abby."

There was a knock on the side of her cubicle and Nate's fuzzy voice hit her ears. "Hey what are you... Is everything ok?" He knelt next to Abby and took Lila's hand.

"I need you to come get her. She got a call from her dad's doctor... Yeah. I don't know. Ok we will meet you out front." Abby ended the call and looked back at Lila. "Alright honey, let's get your things. San is coming to get you."

"San?" Lila said, trying to focus on her friend.

"Abby, what the fuck happened?" Nate growled, reaching up to cup Lila's cheek.

She pulled her head away in response and held her hands up. "San... I want... I want W-San." Lila reached up to grab her necklace.

Abby packed up Lila's purse and helped her stand. "Nate go tell Mr. Evans that Lila has a family emergency and has to go home." She said as she guided Lila toward the elevator.

"But-"

"Now Nate!"

Lila swayed and leaned heavily against Abby. She closed her eyes, hoping it would relieve some of the pressure in her head.

It didn't.

Her dad was... Dying... That meant she had to go home... She had to...

She needed Wooyoung...

Wooyoung chewed on his lip as he sat across from Roger waiting to find out his schedule for the next couple of months.

The film was close to being done so the interview and promotion schedule was right around the corner.

Yeosang was there as well, having hired Roger as his new manager.

And now they were just waiting for Rachel to get there with her manager. Yeosang's one screen partner was already off filming something else so she couldn't make it to this meeting.

The door opened behind them and Wooyoung flinched when he felt a hand tease his hair. "Wooyoungie! It's so nice to see you back on your feet and in the office." Rachel said, pulling up her chair to sit closer to him.

Wooyoung groaned and leaned away from her. Roger sent him a an 'I'm sorry' look before he got into the schedule for the next few months. It was going to be busy, but Wooyoung noticed slight changes, like more morning interviews and he hardly ever had anything on Saturdays.

He needed to remember to tell Roger thank you when Rachel wasn't in the room.

As they were getting into the premier schedule, Wooyoung's phone went off. He had left it sitting on the desk in front of him so they were all able to see that San was calling.

"Sorry." He muttered, leaning forward to ignore his call.

Roger just waved him off. "So the premier, it's-"

Wooyoung's phone vibrated again. He grabbed it and ignored San's call for the second time. Just as he was about to set it down, he got a text.

San

SOS

Lila needs you.

Pick up.

SOS

Wooyoung paled as his stomach flipped. It had to be bad if San was sending him a call for help.

"Roger, can I-" He pointed at his phone.

His manager sighed. "Make it quick."

"Wooyoungie, we are working right now." Rachel said, grabbing on to his wrist.

"It's an emergency." He growled, ripping his hand away before going and stepping out of the room and going down the hall.

He quickly dialed San.

"Finally!" San answered, already sounding stressed.

"Sorry, film stuff. What's going on?"

"I need you to get to my condo ASAP. I'm going to pick up Lila from work now. Abigail called me in a panic."

Wooyoung felt like he was going to feint as he leaned against the wall. "San, what happened?"

"Fuck... There's still so much you don't know Youngie. Lila's father is dying. She's going to be in bad shape. I can explain everything later, but the sooner you can see her, the better."

"What?" Wooyoung didn't know what to say... Lila had never spoken about her father before. "I'll do what I can. "

"Hurry." San ended the call and Wooyoung was left staring at the wall.

He walked on shaky legs back to Roger's office, and his manager stood up. "What's wrong?"

Wooyoung didn't even know how to say what needed to happen. He placed a hand over his heart and gave Roger a panicked look.

"Alright, we can continue this later. I will send you the premier schedule." Roger said to Rachel's manager.

"Wait!" Rachel said, looking upset as she glared at Wooyoung's phone. "Who is Lila?"

Wooyoung's heart stopped. Had she read his texts?

Yeosang jumped up and glared at her. "What are you talking about?"

"I saw on his phone! Who is Lila? Why are you ditching out on our work?" She stormed over to Wooyoung and crossed her arms.

"Rachel, you're crazy. Seriously. I can't do this right now, I need to go." Wooyoung growled, storming away from her before he said something he would regret.

He was going to have to come up with an excuse at some point, but for now he needed to go.

Yeosang caught up with him after a minute and they ran to his car. "Did San say what is going on?"

"Something to do with Lila's dad." Wooyoung said as he got into the passenger seat.

"What?" Yeosang turned to him with a surprised look.

"I know. But the tone of his voice told me it's going to be bad, so we need to hurry." Wooyoung glanced down at his phone, hoping to see an update from San, but there was nothing.

Yeosang sped away from Roger's office.

When they got to San's condo, they ran inside and straight for the living room.

Lila and San were sitting on the couch, San had an arm around her shoulder and it was obvious that Lila was shaking.

Wooyoung ran to her immediately and pulled her into his lap. "I'm here, love, I'm here."

Lila pressed her face into his neck and closed her eyes.

"Lila, what's going on?" Wooyoung whispered, running his hand through her hair.

San sighed and rubbed his face with his hand. "This is a delicate subject... But, remember when you were told that Lila's dad left and that's when her mom started getting abusive?"

Wooyoung nodded, scared about where this was going.

"Well, he contacted her when she was in high school, he left because... Lila's mom tried to kill him."
