San groaned a little as he felt something vibrate next to him. It took him a second to realize it was his phone and quickly pulled it out of his pocket, hoping to not disturb Yeosang, whose head was in his lap.
It was an unknown caller, but something told San to answer it. "Hello?"
"San? It's Seonghwa."
"Oh! How..."
"Did you know that Lila is with Nate right now?" The older sounded very upset. "He just kicked me out of your condo."
San sighed and ran a hand though his hair. "Yeah I know... I asked her to call him so she wasn't alone after she told me she didn't have your number and her other coworker is out of town with her family. Trust me, he was my last option. What were you doing there?"
"He called a to go order and asked for me to deliver it. The guy gives me the creeps... But it's obvious that he really cares for her if he thought to call me..." Seonghwa sighed deeply. "So what happened with Wooyoung? Are you guys doing ok?"
"As ok as we can be... I guess..." San swallowed the lump in his throat and started to run his hand up and down Yeosang's arm. "There is a new disease going around here that is coming from a native beetle. Wooyoung must have been sleeping and was bitten... Two nights ago now? I don't even know how long I've been at the hospital. He's not in a good place right now, Hwa..."
The older cursed colorfully. "What are they doing for him?"
"Everything they can. It's a small hospital here so there's only so much that can do. We are waiting for some supplies to be delivered so we can fly him home."
"Is that safe?"
"Not completely. But he will have a better chance back in the states. Plus if he can see Lila I think that will be the best medicine for him. As silly as that sounds..."
"No." Seonghwa said quietly. "It's not silly at all. I can see it just in the small interaction I get with them in the diner. Will you keep me updated?"
"Of course. Will you check in on Lila? Like I said, Nate was my last choice... But he was better then her being alone."
Seonghwa hesitated and San knew he was trying to read into the hidden message, but he didn't say anything. "Yeah, I'll stay close by. She didn't end up eating before she fell asleep tonight, so I'll bring some fresh food in the morning."
"Thank you Hwa. I really owe you."
"Just keep taking care of my boys. I'm really happy you are there."
"Me too." San said, looking down at Yeosang.
When Seonghwa ended the call, San bit his lip and looked at the time. It was well after midnight back home. The fact that Lila didn't eat anything worried him. She tended to get into this zone where she didn't feel the need to eat... But if Seonghwa was going by in the morning, then San was confident that he would make her eat.
"San?"
He turned to see Roger walking into the room. Wooyoung's poor manager looked like he hadn't slept in months. His hair was messy, he had large bags under his eyes, and even his glasses were askew on his nose.
"Hey Rog..."
The man looked at where Wooyoung was sleeping in the hospital bed. He was still incredibly pale with the ugly red blotches, but this was the longest he had slept since being here, so San would take it.
"I just got confirmation, the get is on it's way. And it looks to be a faster one too. And the oxygen tanks should be delivered around the same time. We are hoping to be headed home in the next few hours."
San let out a long sigh of relief and sank back in his seat. Roger nodded along with him and sat down in another chair. "What a mess... All from a bug."
"But at least we are at this point. He is fighting."
"Yes..." Roger leaned forward to brace his elbows on his knees and brought his fingers to his lips. "San, can I ask you something? And it stay between us for now?"
San felt his heart sink. This could lead to anything and he knew he needed to tread carefully. But he nodded slowly.
"Who's Lila?"
Yup, he was afraid of that.
"Is it that reporter who did the interview?" Roger's tired eyes focused on him. San didn't see any anger there, so he just nodded again. "Did something happen between them there? Has Yeosang said anything about it?"
"I don't..."
"I've heard him whispering her name as he sleeps. She's who he sneaks off to see, isn't she?"
San knew he was pale by the look Roger gave him. He had no idea what to tell him...
"Just... Tell me the truth. I'm not mad. At this point, he can do whatever he wants when he's healthy because that mean he'll have survived this." Roger said, his voice broken and defeated. "I know I'm tough on him... But it's only because I want what's best for him."
"Yes, she's the one he's been sneaking out to see. It was her apartment on the cover of that magazine. They technically met before the interview when she accidentally ran into him on the street. She ended up impressing him when she helped him hide from a group of girls instead of freaking out and exposing him. And then when she showed up at the interview, I think he took it as a sign. She's my best friend, Rog, so trust me when I say that she is trustworthy. The photo of her apartment is the closest they've been to being exposed. They have always been very careful, usually meeting at her apartment and now my condo. There is one restaurant they go to, Wooyoung is friends with the owner, so he knew not to draw attention to them."
Roger nodded slowly. "I always wondered if he had met someone. Especially once he started treating Rachel like crap."
San scoffed. "Well she deserves it. Why he ever... I don't even know what to call it. They were never together, from my understanding..."
"They weren't." Yeosang's voice cut in.
San jumped and looked down at him. "I'm so sorry, Sangie, I didn't mean to wake you up." He ran his hand up and down Yeosang's arm a little faster.
"You didn't, I've been up for awhile now..." The older sat up slowly and stretched before pulling San to his chest.
San found himself smiling as he nuzzled his nose against Yeosang, loving the feeling of his arms around him.
"Wooyoung and Rachel were never a thing. I think he just put up with her affection, and kind of returned it, because he was happy to be getting it. But really it was just a few short kisses and holding hands." Yeosang grimaced. "I told him not to do anything at all, but he has a mind of his own."
Roger chuckled as the three of them looked at their sleeping friend.
Wooyoung's head was slowly rocking back and forth as he dreamed. "Li..." He whispered.
San turned his head back into Yeosang's chest, trying to ignore the aching of his heart. He missed her too... Since they had been reunited, they hadn't been apart this long. He couldn't imagine going through this alone like she was now.
"He really cares about her, doesn't he?" Roger asked, a hint of a smile on his face.
"Yeah, he does." Yeosang answered, hugging San tighter as he did. "I'm pretty sure he'd leave the business if she asked him to."
San heart Roger suck in a breath and knew he was worried he would lose his best actor, so he glanced over at him. "Lila would never do that. She's had to much pain and suffering in her own life, and the guilt would be too much for her because she'd worry he'd always resent her. No if he's going to leave, it'll be his decision."
The manager sighed, then looked down when his phone started ringing. "Oh! I think this is the crew with the supplies. Thank God. I'll be right back boys."
Yeosang and San watched him go before the older lifted San's chin so they could look at each other. "Thank you for being here with me." He whispered.
San felt himself blush a little as he just shook his head. "You don't need to thank me. I'm glad I can be here."
The older just smiled in resignation, but then leaned forward and pressed their lips together in a soft, but loving kiss. "I couldn't do this without you." He whispered against San's lips before pulling away.
Knowing he was even redder, San buried his face in his boyfriend's chest, earning a soft chuckle.
"We will get you home soon Youngie." Yeosang whispered while rubbing San's arm gently.

When Lila woke up, she was confused as to why she was in bed. She didn't remember going there last night... But when she saw Nate sleeping on the other side of it with his back to her, the events of the previous day came flooding back to her.
She scrambled to grab her phone and quickly unlocked it to check all her messages as she walked out of her bedroom.
The last one from San had her falling to her knees and sobbing into her hand.
They had gotten a jet to fly Wooyoung home.
He was coming home.
She felt overjoyed and terrified at the same time. He needed to be here, where she could figure out a way to see him, but the flight was going to be a risk.
Thinking quickly, not able to remember what time it was there, Lila sent a quick text asking if she could speak with him at some point. Just so he could hear her voice one last time...
Just in case...
She had another message waiting from her from Seonghwa, who much have broken into her phone at some point. It wasn't that hard, seeing as he knew about her secret life and she was using Wooyoung's birthday as her passcode.
He told her he would be by at eight with breakfast. She checked the time and realized it was ten till, so she hurried to the bathroom to try and freshen up a little. Not that it mattered much after the state she was in last night.
Right on time, there was a knock on her front door.
Lila made sure her hoodie was zipped up, getting an odd sensation that it had been unzipped at some point, and opened it with a smile.
"Well look at you! Up and about this morning. How are you feeling honey?" Seonghwa asked as he walked in carrying more bags from the diner. Then another boy followed him, making Lila back up a little bit. "I hope. You don't mind, but I needed help carrying the bags. I wanted to make sure you had enough food. Jongho, put those over there on the table, they don't need to go in the fridge."
"Sure thing." The boy grunted, setting the bags on the table. "Anything else boss?"
Seonghwa gave Jongho a soft smile. "No that's it. You can head back to the diner, I'll be by in a little bit to help out."
Jongho glanced at Lila quickly and pursed his lips. "No it's ok. I can handle it. Take the day off Hwa. You deserve it." And before he could get an answer, Jongho closed the front door behind him.
Lila ran to Seonghwa immediately and flung her arms around his neck. "I'm so happy you're here." She dropped her voice to a whisper. "Hwa, the jet is on the way or already here. They are on their way home."
Seonghwa pulled her into another bone crushing hug and let out a shaker sigh.
He knew the risks just as much as she did.
"Well since I have the day off, I can make sure you eat and are taken care of." He said, releasing her to turn to the food he brought.
"That's ok, I'm not really hu-"
"Nope, you're eating whether you like it or not. I doubt you ate anything yesterday. I saw all the food on the coffee table, and then you fell asleep before you ate what I brought, which is an insult to my cooking," he added in an overly sarcastic tone, making Lila laugh. "So you need to eat honey. San's ordered."
"Of course they are." Lila said, feeling tears threatening to break free. "Well... What can I do to help?"
Seonghwa smiled at her before moving behind her to tie an apron around her waist. "You can start by cracking some eggs in this pan."
Lila did her best to help him cook, but Seonghwa was such a perfectionist that he ended up kicking her out of the kitchen when she couldn't do things to her standards.
She was ok with it though, watching him cook was entertainment in itself.
Once breakfast was nearly done, Nate came shuffling out of her room rubbing his eyes. "Hey." He said, walking over and pulling Lila into a hug. "How are you doing this morning."
"I'm doing ok, I think. Seonghwa came over early and is making us breakfast, so that's helped."
Lila felt the tension rise in the room as the two men looked at each other and Nate tensed a little. "You could have woken me up."
"I wanted you to sleep. You dropped everything to come over here yesterday..." She said, looking down at her hands.
Nate just hugged her tighter in response. "And I would do it again in a heartbeat." He whispered.
"Lila can you come hand me that bowl?" Seonghwa said quickly.
Lila smiled up at Nate before walking back into the kitchen.
As breakfast finished coming together, the three of them sat around the table and at in relative silence.
Until Lila's phone rang.
She scrambled to get it, wanting to hide the caller id from Nate, and ran out the front door. "San?"
"Lila?" Wooyoung's weak voice came through and Lila collapsed in the yard in front of San's condo.
"Oh Wooyoung, it's me. I'm here baby." She said, trying to keep her voice from trembling as she spoke.
"I'm coming home." He whispered. His voice was so weak... Like he was straining to get the words out. It broke Lila's heart listening to it. "I'm coming home to you."
"And I'll be here waiting. I have something I need to tell you when you get here." She said, still not feeling right about telling him over the phone.
He chuckled. "I'm looking forward to hearing it. Don't worry, I'm not giving up yet. I need to see your beautiful face first. In person, not through some picture."
Lila's breath caught in her throat as she started to cry silently. "Well you must be ok if you can still be such a sap." She said, letting out a breathy laugh.
"Only for you. They are getting ready to move me onto the plane, so I'll see you soon. Ok?"
"I'll see you soon, baby." Lila whispered, wrapping an arm around her stomach as the fear tried to worm it's way back in.
"Lila-Lou?" San came on the line, his voice strained.
"Sannie..." Lila sobbed, finally letting herself cry.
"Is Nate still there?" He asked.
Lila could only bring herself to hum a response through her sobs.
"Good, take a deep breath and go back to him, ok? We've got a team of doctors who are going to be taking care of him the entire flight. Once we land, either I or Yeosang will call you. Wooyoung's manager knows about you, long story there, but he is going to help us get you into the hospital."
"You are?!"
"Yes. I need to go now, love. Take a deep breath." San said, and Lila could hear someone calling for him in the background.
"I will. I'll see you soon."
"Yes you will." Lila could hear the smile in San's voice before he ended the call.
She took a couple of minutes to compose herself before stepping back inside. Both Nate and Seonghwa turned to look at her, concerned looks on both their faces.
Nate stepped forward and reached for her hand, squeezing it softly. "What's the news?"
"He's coming home. They have everything they need to bring him home." She looked at Seonghwa as she said this, and started crying again when's he saw the tears in his eyes too.
"That's great, honey. That is such good news." The older placed a hand over his heart and smiled at her.
Lila didn't look away from him, even as Nate pulled her into a hug.
Wooyoung was coming home.
