"So I know some of these questions are going to be redundant for you, but-"
"That's ok," Yeosang said with a smile. "Ask away."
Lila bit her lip and looked down at her notecards. She had to take a couple of deep breaths to calm her racing heart.
"What made you decide to come to L.A. to film movies?" She looked up and immediately found her eyes drifting to Wooyoung. His blonde hair was ruffled, he had obviously just ran his hand through it. A habit she knew about all too well. He seemed to be calming down a little bit, but his eyes were still a little wide.
"Well, I have a brother who moved over here." Yeosang said, taking over the conversation. Lila looked at him and he was tapping his chin as he spoke. "I came to visit and fell in love with the city to be honest. I ended up getting scouted by a talent agent and that's how I got my start."
Lila mumbled to herself as she took notes. She liked having both hand written and the recording so she knew she wouldn't miss anything. "And what about you Mr. Jung?" She asked, trying to be polite.
Yeosang ended up snickering as Wooyoung's eyes appeared to get even wider. He cleared his throat and ran his hand through his hair again. "W-Wooyoung, please. And, well, I... Yeosang and I have been friends since we were kids. When he came back and told me he was moving, I decided I wanted to go with him."
"Just like that?" Lila leaned forward, interested in learning more about him.
"Yeah. Yeosang is my best friend. We both grew up dancing together and I wanted to continue working with him." The pair looked at each other and smiled.
"I didn't expect it would actually happen and we'd be working together like this, but we are thrilled we are." Yeosang added.
Lila felt the corner of her mouth lift in a half smile as they continued to talk about their past and current experiences. It was obvious that they both had a passion for dancing, and being in movies was just an added bonus.
When she made it through her standard questions, Lila checked her watch and felt her heart sink a little. She was almost out of time. "I have one more question for you."
They gestured for her to continue.
"You are gaining a nice following of fans. If you could tell them on thing, what would it be?"
Yeosang raised his eyebrows and tilted his head. "Huh, I don't know if we've been asked that before." He glanced at Wooyoung, who hadn't looked away from Lila.
She squirmed under his gaze.
"I guess, I'd want to tell them to never give up on their dreams. I didn't know that this would be my dream, but I gave it a chance and I fell in love with it." Yeosang said.
Wooyoung hesitated and chewed on his bottom lip. His deep brown eyes met hers. "I'd want to tell them thank you." He paused, and Lila couldn't help but feel like there was another meaning behind it. "Thank you for your support. If you didn't keep watching our movies, then we wouldn't be here right now. We will keep working harder for you and keep improving to bring you more in the future."
Lila swallowed and looked down to finish her notes. Man his gaze was intense. She didn't know if she'd be able to make eye contact with him again without dropping her professional demeanor.
She grabbed her recorder and turned it off, slipped in in her bag, and then stood. "Thank you so much for having me today. It's really been an honor."
Both actors stood and smiled. "No thank you! It's always a pleasure getting to do interview. It keeps us on our toes." Yeosang winked.
"Do you know the way out?" Wooyoung asked, sticking his hands in his pockets.
"Y-Yes. I believe so. I look forward to seeing your movie. Thank you again." Lila bowed to them and watched as they walked out of the room. She could have sworn she saw Wooyoung glance back at her one more time before walking through the door, but she shook her head. "Don't be silly." She muttered to herself.
Then she exhaled sharply and released all the tension she had been holding. Normally she didn't get so nervous when doing interviews, but this one...
Lila glanced at the door again, almost wishing he would come back and say he forgot something.
"No. Stop. You're being a silly fangirl." She said, scolding herself as she tucked everything away in her bag. "You got your moment. Now move on."
But she didn't want to. She liked the way her heart raced when he looked at her, and the way his hair framed his face when he styled his hair, and the way he-
The door opened in front of her, making her jump. It was the security guard. He motioned for her to follow and he led her out of the studio.
Lila glanced back at the building she was in and felt a tinge of regret. She should have asked him more, tried to interact a little more. Why had she been so damn nervous?
"Because you're a fool." She sighed and pulled out her phone so give San a call.
She had to call him three times before he answered. "Hello?"
"My interview is over."
"Oh! Hey Lila-lou! So how did it go?" His tone completely changed once he realized who she was. Lila couldn't help but smile.
"I told you not to call me that." She rolled her eyes. "It was fine. Are you almost done?"
"Yeah, can you give me like, five more minutes?"
"Sure, I'm just waiting out front." Lila hung up the phone and found a bench to sit on. She pulled out her notes and started reading through them, trying to decide what she wanted to have in her article and what she could leave out.
She jumped when her phone rang. Expecting it to be San, she answered it without looking at the screen. "Hello?"
"Well?"
Lila blanched. It was her boss... "Oh! Mr. Evans. I was just about to call you." She said, thinking quickly.
"Yeah, sure. How did it go? This had better not have been a waste of the companies dime." He said.
"The interview went great, I'm going over my notes now and I should have it on your desk by the end of next week." She heard him muttering something about wasting time on unknown actors and that this was a ridiculous idea.
"Fine." Mr. Evans snapped finally and hung up.
Lila stared at her phone for a long time, a sinking feeling filling the pit of her stomach.
Fifteen minutes later, San came running over to her. "Lila! Sorry I'm late!" He was holding a dress bag in his arms and had a grin going from ear to ear. "But I found you the perfect dress for tomorrow!"
"San, I don't think I'm going to go."
He stopped mid-step and his mouth dropped open. "Excuse me?"
Lila hated that she got like this. She had started to get into her own head after the interview, thinking about everything she wished would have gone different. Her article wasn't going to be that good. The questions were so bland and generic... she wasn't a good writer either. Her boss was going to hate it. It would never get published and she would probably lose her job...
She just wanted to go curl up in a ball in her bed and never leave it.
San ran to her side immediately and set the dress down before kneeling in front of her. "What happened?"
Lila just shook her head, feeling her lower lip trembling. She was just a weakling. Why did she have to be like this?
Her breathing sped up and became shallow.
San brought his hands to the side of her face. "Lila. Lila I need you to breath. Look at me." His tone was harsh and demanding, but it worked. Her eyes flicked up to his and he gave her a soft smile. "There's my Lila-lou. What happened?"
She shook her head and then wrapped her arms around him, sniffling into his shoulder.
"It's ok. Let's get you home."
Lila nodded into his shoulder and let him help her off the bench. She really didn't understand why he was still her friend when she put him through shit like this, but she was so grateful.
San ended up staying the night with her. They ordered pizza and he raided her movie collection, picking out the cheesiest ones he could find, knowing it would cheer her up instantly.
As they evening was dying down and they were curled up in her bed, San shifted so he could look at her. "So you never told me how it went today."
Lila sighed and tried to fight her inner demons. "It went fine. Just a standard interview. Nothing exciting. They were really nice though."
"Really? That's all I get?" He sounded appalled and Lila flinched. "I get you the interview you've been dying to have, with the guy you've been obsessing over for months, no years, and all I get was 'it went fine'?" He reached down and pinched her sides, making her squeal and push him away.
"What is it that you want to hear?!" Lila asked, trying to contain her laughter as he went for her side again.
"Oh I don't know. Maybe just how gorgeous he is. And how dreamy his eyes are. And how he just couldn't take them off you!" San jumped on her and continued his assault.
"San! How old are you! G-Get off me!" Lila couldn't stop laughing now.
He just giggled in response. "Tell me! Tell me!"
"Ok yes! He is gorgeous!" Lila finally managed to push him off and placed a hand on her chest as she tried to catch her breath. "He really is. He took my breath away when he stepped in the room I'm not going to lie. But it wasn't like that San."
He just gave her a crooked smile and pulled her in for a hug. "Come one. We should get some rest. We have a busy day of pampering tomorrow."
"I told you I'm not going."
"Yeah, nice try."
Lila rolled her eyes and settled into bed next to her best friend.
As always, San got his way.
They spent the entire morning and early afternoon pampering themselves with facials. He gave her both a manicure and pedicure, painting her nails a deep shade of purple. It was a special style too, so it seemed to sparkle in the right light.
When things got closer, he curled her hair and added curls to his own, giving it a wavy texture.
Then he shocked her with the dress he found. "San, there's no way I can wear that! I'll ruin it!"
"Oh hush. You'll be fine! I won't make you wear heels, that's my compromise."
Lila beamed. She had never seen a more beautiful dress. She could already tell it was going to be skin tight until her hips. It was a black, almost velvety texture at the top with straps that were meant to hug the sides of her shoulders. The further down it went, layers of purple showed, giving it a colored accent.
They both changed and San put the finishing touches on her makeup, and his. She almost didn't recognize herself as she played with the end of her curled hair.
"Stop fidgeting." He said, smacking her hand as he fussed over her. "You look beautiful."
"You look rather dashing yourself Mr. Choi."
San smiled and gave her an over exaggerated bow. "Why thank you, Ms. James. Shall we?"
The premier was packed. Photographers were everywhere, hoping to capture every moment of the night. None of them were overly concerned with her and San, thankfully, seeing as they weren't a major part of the cast or crew. Although Lila would argue differently for his sake.
They walked down the carpet and San would greet a few people he knew and introduce Lila to them. Several of them were happy to meet her, saying they had heard a lot about her from San. One kind lady said, "It's about time! He will not shut up about you sometimes. For the longest time I thought you were his girlfriend."
Both San and Lila burst out laughing at the ridiculous idea, but at the same time it was really flattering for her to hear that. It was nice knowing that someone cared about her.
Cheers erupted from behind them and they turned as a limousine pulled up.
Lila's heart started to pound again as Yeosang stepped out first, holding out his hand to escort his on screen girlfriend. Lila couldn't even remember the girl's name right now.
Hell, she couldn't even remember her own name as she watched Wooyoung step out next. He mirrored his friends' action, reaching back to help the other lead actress out.
He was stunning in his dark burgundy suit. Someone had styled his hair so it was slicked back on one side, allowing his bangs on the other side to hang down in his face. Several earrings adorned each ear and he sported several rings as well.
San took her hand and squeezed it, but Lila couldn't bring herself to look away as she watched the four of them pose for pictures.
They turned to face another camera.
Wooyoung hesitated, then tilted his head slightly. His mouth opened just a little as he met Lila's gaze.
"Looks like someone remembers you." San whispered into her ear.
Lila knew she had to be bright red right now. But she swallowed and tore her gaze away. "Don't be silly. Let's go inside. I'm famished."
San just chuckled. "That's going to have to wait. We get to watch the movie first, and then there is the after party."
"What? Oh come on. You didn't saw I was going to have to wait for food!" Lila whined as he pulled her inside.
"Yeah, you're going to forget all about food once the movie starts." He smirked as they took their seats near the back of the theater.
Lila soon figured out what he meant when the curtains at the front of the room were pulled back, revealing the largest movie screen she had ever seen.
The lights dimmed once everyone was seated. The movie started with applause.
As soon as the first dance scene started, Lila knew she was screwed.
