Lila hummed to herself as she set down another box in her room. She never realized how much stuff she had until she tried to cram it into boxes.

But somehow she had managed to pack up her apartment and get it moved to San's condo.

Nate had been a lifesaver too. He didn't judge her abundance of chick flicks, nor did he complain about taking the heavy boxes.

The only issue they ran into was trying to figure out what to do with her furniture. Lila had paid to break her lease, so she had no intention of coming back here, and San already had a couch and bed for her.

So on their last trip there, after stopping to get a slushy as a refreshing way to cool down, they moved the couch from her apartment, down the few flights of stairs, and left them by the dumpster for anyone to take.

It was nothing special so Lila didn't mind getting rid of it.

"Man that thing is heavy." She said, sighing heavily as she flopped down on the cushions. Then she glanced over at Nate and noticed him suck his lips and then cover his mouth. "What?"

His shoulders started to shake before he leaned back, laughing deeply. "I'm-m s-sorry, but your m-mouth is bright red."

Lila's eyes grew wide as she slapped her hand over her mouth and groaned. "This is why I don't get slushies!" She fell to the side and buried her face in the cushion of her couch while furiously running her tongue over her teeth.

"Oh stop, it's cute." Nate said which chuckling.

Then she cried out when his hands attacked her sides and she squirmed to get away from him. "Nate! Cut it out!" She yelled as a few tears rolled down her cheeks from laughing so hard.

When she managed to get free, she booked it for her stairs and ran up them quickly.

She turned just in time to see a couple walking toward her and she had to skid to a stop.

"Hi there! Do you mind if we ask you a few questions?" The woman said, flipping her curly black hair over her shoulder.

Lila let out a little yelp when Nate slid to a stop behind her and placed a hand on her waist to catch himself. "Who are you?" He asked.

"My name is Chelsea and I work for I.E. News. I recently heard a story about one of the international stars and wanted to do a little digging now that the craze has died down a little."

Lila's heart stopped as she realized what the woman was talking about.

"What?" Nate asked, his voice getting a little deeper. He pulled Lila closer to him. She went to move his hand off her waist, but the woman started speaking again, capturing her attention.

"Have you seen this picture before?" She held up the magazine that featured Wooyoung on the cover walking out of her apartment building.

"Yes." Lila said, knowing she needed to keep her answers short in order to cover the fact that he was leaving her apartment.

"Are you seriously bringing this up again? You people are sick." Nate snapped.

Chelsea didn't even flinch. "I've seen a list of the people who have been interviewed in this building. Strangely enough, you aren't on it."

Lila was shocked. "And how would you know that?"

"I saw the apartment you're moving out of. Lila James, right? I know the managers here and he may have helped me connect a few dots."

"That's illegal!" Nate said. "Come on, we're leaving." He huffed turning both of them around and leading Lila to the stairs.

"So was it you that Wooyoung was here to see?" Chelsea asked, following after them with the man next to her turning on a camera.

"Back off, lady." Nate growled, placing himself between her and Lila.

"If you need your body guard to speak for you I'll be forced to jump to conclusions." Chelsea said. Lila could hear the smirk in her voice as she reached up to hold onto her compass pendant. "I know you interviewed him. Did something more come of that interview?"

Lila's heart stopped and she took a deep breath. "You're sick, you know that? You should be ashamed of yourself, trying to force your way into someone's personal life." She held her head high and stepped around Nate. "Yes I interviewed Jung Wooyoung and Kang Yeosang. It was my job. Any other correlation is pure coincidence."

"So the fact that he was seen leaving this place after you interviewed him has nothing to do with you." Chelsea said, raising an eyebrow as her eyes travelled up and down Lila's body.

"That's what I said."

"Fuck off lady." Nate said. "I'm not going to tell you again."

Chelsea's eyes flashed to him as they narrowed. "I'm not talking to you kid. Why don't you just cool it? Now Lila, what was it like getting to interview him? Rumors say he has quite the different personality off camera, if you know what I mean."

"Excuse me?!" Lila screeched. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. How dare she talk about her Wooyoung that way!

"Why don't I have you arrested along with the manager for this place for invading privacy?" Nate stood straighter, towering over the reporter before pulling out his phone, showing he had been recording the conversation.

Chelsea took a step back and her jaw dropped. Then she smirked and looked at Lila. "This isn't over. I'll get my story." She spun around and walked over to the other staircase, her heels clacking on the hard floor as the cameraman followed her.

"I'm going to text this to you so you have a copy, but I say we go get the money back that you just had to pay for breaking least." Nate said, chuckling slightly as they walked to her apartment.

"Thank you for that." Lila said after closing the door.

Nate paused and turned around, giving her a soft smile. "It was no big deal. People like that make me sick. I can't believe she got a list of everyone who was interviewed."

"Yeah me neither." Lila whispered as she walked back to her room. Just then her pocket buzzed and she went to pull out her phone.

Her heart skipped a beat but dropped at the same time.

Wooyoung was calling. This was horrible timing but she knew if she didn't take it she might not get to talk to him again for some time.

So she spun around and yelled, "I need to take this, I'll be back!" As she ran out her door.

As soon as she was outside, she pressed answer and pressed her phone to her ear. "Hello?"

"I was beginning to think you weren't going to answer." Wooyoung said quietly on the other side.

"Sorry, I'm still moving a few things and I needed to step out of my old apartment." Lila huffed as she trotted down the stairs and over to a little sitting area that had been set up for residents.

There was on old iron bench tucked away under a tree that she sat on, pulling her knees to her chest so she could rest her head on it.

"That's ok, are you almost done?" He asked. It sounded like he was walking somewhere too.

"Yes. Really it's just emptying out the apartment now and getting rid of the furniture I don't need. I need to tell you something though." Lila said, hating that she had to do this, but she didn't want to hide it from him.

"What's wrong?"

"There was a reporter waiting for me today. She ambushed me in the hallway asking about that article. She knew I hadn't been interviewed yet."

Wooyoung must have taken the phone away from his ear because she could hear him muttering something in the distance before he came back. "Are you ok? What happened?"

"I didn't tell her anything, other than she's a disgusting human being. Nate is still with me so he helped, thankfully. If he hadn't been there, I don't know what I would have done or said. I felt so cornered. I can't imagine what you must go through on a daily basis."

He sighed and she knew he was running his hand through his hair. It brought a smile to her face as she imagined it as she started to chew on her thumbnail. "You get used to it after a while, but it's not something that you should have to deal with. I'm so sorry."

"Please don't go there. We knew this was a possibility. She didn't get what she was looking for, that's the most important thing. How are things there? I miss you."

"God I miss you to Lila. Things have been ok for the most part. Rachel has been... Rachel and I'm getting tired of it. I hate that I have to pretend to like her on camera." He groaned, making Lila smile again.

"You're so cute." She whispered, and his silence indicated he was probably blushing heavily. "How are San and Yeosang?"

"All cute and couplie." Wooyoung chuckled. "They said to tell you hello and San said he would try to call you soon."

"He doesn't need to worry about it. I know I've taken a back seat now." Lila sighed dramatically, making Wooyoung laugh. The sound sent her heart racing.

"Well you're still first in my book."

Lila bit her lip and buried her face in her knees. It was so hard not to tell him how she felt, but she wanted to do it in person. The words hung on her lips though, so she started to play with her pendant to try and distract herself. "How long until you can come home?"

"I'm hoping in a couple of weeks. This seem to be going smoothly, for the most part, so we will see. As long they don't decide to add another random dance number. Then it'll take time to learn the dance moves, especially Rachel. I still wonder sometimes if she slept with the director to get the part."

Lila burst out laughing, rocking back in her seat. She had to cover her mouth to try and muffle the sound so she didn't disturb anyone nearby as she tried to force herself to take deep breaths. It definitely sound like something Rachel would try to do with how forward she was.

"I miss you laugh so much." Wooyoung said softly, making Lila stop laughing but she still had a wide smile on her face.

"I miss yours too. Make sure they don't add anything to the filming so you can hurry up and come home."

"Trust me, I will. So I have to ask, what was with you letting Seonghwa put his grimy hands all over you yesterday, hm?"

Lila laughed again. "I needed to give you a reason to come back, right? I figured if," Lila added another dramatic note to her voice to make it sound like she was swooning, "I let some extremely attractive man give me some attention, well...  At least I have some options."

"Now that's not fair!" Wooyoung exclaimed loud enough that, while she chuckled, Lila had to pull the phone away from her ear. "If he touches you again I'm going to kick his ass."

"I guess I better go warn him then."

"Now you're just being mean." He huffed. Lila could picture his lower lip sticking out in his adorable pout. "I hope you know you're not leaving my arms once I get home. I don't care who sees."

Lila's heart started to pound. Oh how she wished that could be true. With all her being. But if having a secret relationship meant she could still be with and love Wooyoung, then she would do it. For him. She would give him the world if she could.

Movement in front of her caused her to look up and she saw Nate waving at her. He had a concerned look on his face, then his eyes narrowed a little bit.

Lila felt her smile disappear as she sighed.

"What's wrong?" Wooyoung asked, a sad tone coming to his voice.

"Nate is looking for me..."

"Please don't go."

Now the tears started to come as Lila placed her forehead on her knees again. "Ok. I'll stay." She covered her mouth to try and hide the fact that her voice was shaking.

"Lila?"

"Yes?"

"I-" Noise came from the background and Lila closed her eyes, trying to force down the sob that threatened to escape her.

She wanted to tell him not to go too, but she knew she couldn't. She didn't want to hold him back...

"Do you need to get back?" She whispered.

Wooyoung was silent on the other end.

"It's ok baby. I understand."

She heard Wooyoung suck in a breath, and then she realized what she said and felt herself blushing. "Call me that again, just one more time." He whispered.

Lila smiled and glanced up at where Nate was kicking at the rocks in front of her building, wearing a small scowl.

"Call you what, baby?" She said, looking back down at her knees.

Someone called for Wooyoung again and he sighed. "I'm so sorry."

"No it's ok, I understand. Have a good time and I'll talk to you soon?" Lila bit her lip, feeling the tears come back. She hated saying goodbye.

"Yes. I'll talk to you soon. I promise."

The line went dead. It was the one thing they had decided on. They would never end the call with goodbye.

But Lila still couldn't help the sob that eventually tore from her throat as she wrapped her arms around her legs and shoved her face against her knees. "I love you so much..." She whispered as she tried to calm herself down. "Please come home to me."

Suddenly there was an arm wrapped around her. It scared her for a moment because she had forgotten that Nate was there. But she relaxed a little when she was pulled into his embrace. "What's wrong?" He asked, holding her tight.

Lilla just shook her head to give her time to think of something. "It was j-just San. I'm sorry, this is so silly of me." She said, trying to force out a laugh.

"It's not silly at all. You miss your friend. I know you guys are close. I think this is the first time I've seen you upset about it, so I don't blame you for having all of these emotions come forward so suddenly." He pressed his lips against the top of her head as he whispered to her.

He had no idea how true those words actually were. And she really did miss San. That was part of it. She felt so alone all of the sudden even though Nate was right next to her. It just wasn't the same...

After a few minutes, she calmed herself down and pushed herself away from his touch. "Thanks." She muttered quickly as she started walking to her apartment again.

As she did, she pressed the power button on the side of her phone to look at the picture of Wooyoung she had there.

She had to stay strong for him. She could do this. "I love you." She whispered again before slipping the phone into her pocket and stepping into her apartment with Nate close behind.
