Tim tosses and turns all night, unable to sleep on the lumpy sleeper couch. His back was beginning to really hurt. He sighs as he hears Avery, as she starts to whine.

He quickly turns off the monitor so that it wouldn't wake Avi. He quietly gets up and goes to the kitchen to fix their daughter a bottle.

"You want something?" Tim says softly when he sees his daughter standing up in the crib. "You need a diaper changed first. You're soaking wet."

He lays her back down and changes her diaper and then puts a dry tee shirt on her.

He yawns as he picks up Avery and sits down in the rocker and gives her the bottle.

"Can daddy sleep with you?" He whispers with a smile as he begins to rock. "I bet your bed is a lot more comfortable than that couch.

~~

Shelley gets up quietly to go use the bathroom. She smiles at her son who was sleeping soundly. His mouth was open and was snoring lightly. Tim's side of the bed was empty.

As she makes her way to the bathroom, she can see inside the nursery. She giggles slightly at the sight of Tim sitting in the rocker holding Avery.

Tim has his arms wrapped around his sleeping daughter. He also was asleep, his head leaned over in a very uncomfortable position.

She reaches down and starts to pick up the sleeping little girl. Tim jumps, his eyes popping wide open and he tightens his grip on Avery.

"Oh my gosh." Shelley smiles. "Honey, I didn't mean to startle you."

"I thought she was falling." Tim says in a gravelly voice, rubbing his sore neck.

"I'll put her back in her crib. You go back to bed, you look exhausted." Shelley says as she takes Avery from him.

"Probably because I am." He says with a tired smile. He stands up from the rocker and stretches, trying to make his back feel better. "Good night, Angel. (kissing Avery on the head) Good night, Shelly."

"Good night, Tim." She whispers.

Tim lays back down on the sleeper couch and closes his eyes until he hears Shelley tip toe back to their room.

Once he hears the door close he gets up, grabbing his pillow and one of the blankets and lays down on the floor.

At least there was no lumps or springs poking him.

A few hours later he is awaken by someone brushing his hair out of his face. He opens his eyes to see the worried green eyes of his husband staring down at him.

"What are you doing on the floor?" Avi asks with a soft quiet voice. "Are you alright?"

"I just can't sleep on that sofa sleeper, it hurts my back." Tim moans as he rolls over on his back.

"Baby, you can't sleep on the floor. Maybe we both can sleep on the couch and not worry about pulling the sleeper out."

"It'll be crowded." Tim says.

"No, not crowed. Cozy." Avi smiles as he leans down and kisses Tim on the cheek. "I'll get you something for your back."

"What time is it?" Tim asks as he slowly raises up.

"It's still early, maybe 4:30." Avi answers before heading to the kitchen for some pain reliever.

They quietly push the sleep back into the couch and return the cushions.

Tim lays down with his back against the back of the couch. Avi lays with his back to Tim, forming a spoon.

"You're right. This is cozy." Tim whispers as he lays his cheek on the back of Avi's head. "And it's a lot more comfortable." He slips his arm around Avi's waist.

"Told you." Avi smiles as he reaches back and rubs Tim on the hip. "Get some sleep."

Avi chuckles softly as he hears the steady breathing of his husband, who had already gone to sleep.

~~~
Avi awakes to the smell of bacon cooking, causing his stomach to growl. He looks over his shoulder at Tim who was sleeping soundly.
Carefully, he slips out of Tim's arms and follows the aroma to the kitchen.
"Good morning, Sweetie." Shelley smiles as she sees her son walk into the kitchen trying to brush back his unruly hair.
Good morning, mom." Avi says through a yawn then kissing her on the cheek.
"Good morning, son." Michael says from the table.
"Morning, Papa." Avi smiles as he joins his dad at the table.
"What were you guys doing on the couch this morning? I thought you had the sleeper pulled out?" Michael asks as he sips his coffee.
"Well, we did but Tim has sort of a bad back and he wasn't sleeping that well." Avi says as he gets up to get him a glass of orange juice.
"I knew we shouldn't have taken your bed." Shelly says as she gets a carton of eggs out of the refrigerator.
"No, he slept fine once we got on the couch." Avi says.
"Isn't it a little cramped?" His mom asks.
"No." Avi smiles. "It's very cozy."
Michael chuckles and shakes his head.
"Morning, ya'll." Tim says as he stumbles into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes.
"Good morning, Baby." Avi says giving him a quick kiss. "You sleep better?"
"Much better." Tim nods as he fixes himself a cup of coffee.
"Let me ask you boys something." Michael says as Tim sits down at the table beside Avi.
"Okay?" Tim says as he takes a sip of his coffee.
"When was the last time you two just went out to spend time together without your daughter?" Michael asks as Shelley puts the breakfast on the table.
"Honestly? I don't remember." Tim chuckles as he puts some bacon on his and Avi's plates.
"I really don't think we have since we got her." Avi says as he takes a bite of his bacon.
"A couple needs intimate time together. And it's hard to do with a baby. A baby always knows when to interrupt." Michael chuckles and Shelley blushes.
"Papa." Avi warns. He definitely didn't want the image of his parents getting it on stuck in his head.
"What I'm saying is, I want you two to have a date night tonight. Go out to eat, maybe go dancing, then get you a hotel room where you can spend some quality time together." Michael smiles as he winks at Tim.
"That sounds awesome. But what about Avery?" Avi asks.
"We'll watch her." Shelley answers. "It'll give us time to get to know our grand daughter."
"Are you sure ya'll don't mind?" Tim asks, liking the idea of spending some alone time with his husband.
"Honey, I don't know." Avi says shaking his head. "We haven't been separated from her since the day we got her."
"Baby, this might be our only chance for a night out." Tim says as he looks at Avi with pleading eyes. "At least till she moves out to go to college and then I'll be too old to even think about going to a hotel room."
