Tim brushed Avi's hair back behind his ear, and leaned down to kiss his temple gently. "Avi, wake up honey."

 
Avi opened his eyes slowly, and smiled up at Tim. "Hi," he said quietly. "Is something wrong?"

Tim smiled at the sleepy man, and shook his head. "No. It's just Six o' clock. And we need to get down to the bar."

Avi sat up and rubbed his eyes. He heard the faint playing of some CD in the background. "I don't remember falling asleep?" He said, scrunching his nose up.

Tim kissed the tip of his nose, and pulled him up out of bed. "You came in here to listen to music. You must've fallen asleep." Avi nodded in response, walking to his closet.

Tim watched him put some different clothes on, and smiled as he took his hand.

"Hey guys," Avi smiled as he and Tim walked into the familiar bar. He let go of Tim, and gave his friends each a hug.

"The normal champagne, right Av?" Rob asked. Avi smiled and nodded, sitting on the stool. Tim took a seat beside him, asking Rob for the usual beer. 

Avi turned to Tim, and kissed his cheek.

"I'm going to the bathroom. Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone."

When Avi came back, there was someone else in the bar. Someone else in his seat. Someone else sitting next to Tim.

Avi walked over and sat beside Adam, eyeing the two carefully. She was pretty. A blond.

She seemed to be pretty flirtatious, which was worrying Avi. Austin must have noticed, because he leaned over and whispered into Avi's ear.

"That's Jenika. She's one of Tim's ex's," he said. He leaned back to his seat and crossed one leg over the other.

"She seems to be pretty flirty; to me."

The countdown to New Years was starting. Five minutes before .

Avi kept watching those two past lovers. He could tell Tim was really uncomfortable by it. The flirting was really awkward to him, and every time he tried to get away, she'd pull him right back.

He tried using, "I'm engaged." "I'm gay," but she really didn't believe any of it.

One minute.

Avi stood up and walked over to them, hoping to at least get her away from Tim. If it went on any longer, she might just pull Tim in for that New Years Kiss. The thought of it made Avi sick to his stomach.

He skipped over to Tim, bouncing beside him. Neither of them seemed to notice his presence, and he looked down to the floor as he backed up a little bit.

"I told you, I'm engaged to someone," Tim rolled his eyes. He knew his reasoning wouldn't do any good. He'd tried five times now.

Avi stepped forward and grabbed Tim's hand.

Tim turned his head and looked down at Avi, surprised by the sudden action.

Avi smiled up at him.

Tim smiled back.

Avi faced Jenika, mentally preparing what he was going to say.

"Avi, it's okay, I've--"

"He's engaged.. I'm sure he doesn't like that you're here flirting with him in front of his fiancé," he spoke quietly. He wasn't trying to cause any harm.

She still didn't believe it.

Avi took his left hand from Tim, and held it out towards her, showing the engagement ring.

She stared at it.

Tim watched her. Ready to do something if she tried to hurt Avi.

The chants of the count down were getting louder.

"I'm gay."

"And I'm engaged to this beautiful man right here." Tim grabbed Avi by his waist and turned him around to face him.

He smiled and stared into those green eyes. He leaned forward and pulled Avi to his lips, kissing him with such passion.

They finally pulled away, smiling at one another as she stared at them in shock.

"Happy New Years," Avi whispered.

Over all the cheering, the only thing heard was a scoff, and the slamming of the bar door.
