29 | DEAD AGAIN
The next morning, the group was still surrounded. One man didn't make it through the cold night, thinning the group number to seven. "We have to burn his body." Jon told.
One make lit his sword on fire and touched the dead man's body with it. The flames engulfed the body and released him from the consequence of having to come back with blue eyes. Jon walked to the other side of the tiny island and sat with Reyanna. "We'll all freeze soon. And so will the water. There's a raven flying for Dragonstone now. Sofina is our only chance." Jon informed her.
Reyanna looked up at the top of one of the nearby mountains and saw the Night King sitting tall and proud upon his black horse. He looked unreal. "He turned them all. If we kill him. They all disappear like the one you killed and his followers." Reyanna noted.

A couple of hours later, the Hound thought it'd be a good idea to throw rocks at the walkers. He threw one and it hit a walker right in the face. Then, he threw another and it landed in the middle of the lake... on the now solidified ice. Only giving the walkers the confirmation that the lake was fine to walk on now. Jon and Reyanna stood up. "Dumb cunt." Reyanna hissed at the Hound, his eyes growing wide in fear.
He had just initiated the attack of thousands of walkers onto them. The army began walking on the ice toward them. Everyone readied themselves to fight back, but there were so many of them beginning to come it was nearly impossible. Reyanna threw the first punch when she charged at a nearing walker and stabbed it in the throat. She turned to her another, but it managed to grab her by the collar. It's prying jaws reached for her neck, but her forearm held the walker away. She used her free hand to gore the white in its gut then turned to face the next incoming walker.
She swung, kicked and stabbed at the overwhelming amount of walkers, getting close to death when a few of them managed to surround her. But she always managed to fight her way out of them with out a few scratches. When the walker crowd became far too dense, Jon began to shout: "fall back!" over and over to get the small group to defend themselves in a tactical way.
Walkers began to pile on Tormund but Reyanna hurried over quickly enough to yank them off of him and kill them efficiently. She pulled Tormund up to his feet and hurried with him to fall back. They all did what they could to thin out the herd and keep themselves from getting killed. Reyanna couldn't tell if anyone else had fallen yet. She knew Jon was still alive and fine because she constantly checked every few seconds.
Falling back did nothing. More walkers came from the opposite side and the endless sea of them would only replace the ones the small group managed to defeat. It was a never ending cycle and just when Reyanna thought to give up, a blazing hot fire came from the sky. It was a black dragon, Drogon. With Sofina accompanying him on his back.
Sofina flew high and well over the walkers and yelled at her three dragons "Dracarys!" for them to burn all the walkers to the ground. It certainly eliminated many of the walkers and helped the small group, of now six, survive.
Sofina looked down, worriedly upon her sister to make sure she was still alive. And when she knew she was well, she landed and screamed at her to get on. "Get on!" Reyanna obliged and hurried on the dragon.
"Jon!" Reyanna screamed for him to get on, the other four were already mounted behind Reyanna. They took no time to waste to escape.
But, to no avail, Jon couldn't hear her screams. And a few seconds later, Viserion fell from the sky. An icy spear had pierced him and he had taken a great fall. Sofina gasped in terror, but she knew if she wanted her other two dragons to survive, she had to flee. Viserion was dead. He went crashing to the ground with blood seeping everywhere.
Sofina was in shock and her breaths became shaky. She wanted to scream and cry, but she still hadn't processed what had just happened. It was the Night King. He had taken down one of her dragons. Sofina cued for Dragon to hurry and leave, and Rhaegal followed quickly. Sofina took everyone even the captured walker, except for Jon who ended up staying on the ground, to safety away from the tundra. Reyanna screamed in horror. "You left him! He's going to die!" She screamed so loud she felt her throat vibrate.
She wanted to jump off the flying dragon, but he was far too high for her to make it down alive. She knew none of them would have made it if they had waited for Jon, but it didn't hurt any less leaving him behind. She felt responsible for leaving him alone out in that cold to die. She knew he'd never make it. Even if the walkers didn't kill him, he'd freeze to death before he'd even make it back on foot to Castle Black.

Sofina stopped at the Wall. She had hopes that Viserion pulled through and would fly back to her even though she knew he was dead. And Reyanna stood right beside her, silently hoping that Jon's silhouette would appear amongst the line of trees past the wall. Many horrors came from that tree line. Many battles. But, maybe, there could have been a miracle come from those trees. Specifically, the miracle that Jon made it out alive. "It is time, we must leave for Dragonstone." Sofina spoke emotionlessly as she stared at the sky hoping for Viserion to appear. Her heart was truly broken. That dragon was her child. And any mother knew how much it hurt to lose a child. It shredded her heart into pieces and she felt like she just wanted to curl up and die. She felt like she failed as a mother. She overestimated his ability and got him killed. She should've known from when she fought the Lannister army and Drogon got hurt. But now, it was too late.
Reyanna allowed a few tears to fall down her cheeks. "I never thought I'd have to grieve over Jon again." Reyanna spoke quietly.
Sofina turned her head in confusion at her sister. "He was murdered. He had died. I was devastated. He was resurrected by the Lord of Light. But this time, I think he's gone again and I don't even get to say goodbye. No body to burn. To face to grieve. Not even his sword or coat." Reyanna sucked in a shaky breath, trying so hard to not cry. She was so stoic and expressionless because she really couldn't believe he could be dead again.
They were supposed to be together forever. It felt like prophecy. "We must go." Sofina told her sister.
"Just a little—" Reyanna was prepared to ask for a bit more time until she was interrupted by Castle Black's warning horn of an incoming rider.
She glanced down to the grown below the tall wall and noticed a body slumped over a dark horse that had trotted all the way back to Castle Black. Reyanna's breath got caught in her throat. She bolted down to the ground and when she got there, she sighed out in relief. Tears of joy began pouring down her face as she recognized Jon's face. She pulled him off the horse and he fell to the snowy ground. She dropped to her knees and held him close to her chest. She began to sob uncontrollably and she rocked back and forth. She looked up to the clear blue sky and cried to the gods. "Thank you." She whispered between her sobs, then reached down to kiss Jon's head, taking in that miraculous moment.

Jon was wrapped up and tucked in bed on the ship heading back to Dragonstone. Reyanna made sure he was layered in so many blankets that he'd begin to sweat to bring his body temperature up. He seemed to have fallen into a deep sleep, a light coma perhaps, since he had returned barely conscious to Castle Black. So, Reyanna took that time to meet with maester on board the ship. It was the same one she had met back in Dragonstone. "Ah, you've come back to see me." The old maester smiled.
Reyanna smiled and nodded. She allowed the maester to analyze and treat her cuts, but then he looked at her with a happy visage. "Have you decided on a name for your son, Your Grace? Your much farther along than before. A few months perhaps." He asked.
Reyanna furrowed her brows at him and he lifted her shirt to show her stiff belly off. She noticed the small bump beginning to grow and realized, he had been right all along. She was with child. "After all the fighting—" she began to speak.
"You and the baby are still in perfect health. I only suggest you to eat well on your voyage since you hadn't much to eat on your travels." The maester told, then allowed Reyanna to return to her room where Jon remained.
She was practically skipping down to her room. And when she reached her room, she sat next to Jon's dormant body and watched him breathe deeply. "This is the most relaxed I've ever seen you." Reyanna spoke to him, knowing he wasn't able to answer.
