Real Talk
So this has nothing to do with fanfiction but it needs to be said.
There is such a thing called oppression. It exists in this world. Millions of people around the globe are forced to do work, to have their property taken from them, and are denied natural rights based on their religion, skin color, sexuality, and (strikingly often) political viewpoints.
However, if someone calls you a dirty name, insults you to your face, or refuses to bake you a cake, that's not oppression. They're not taking anything away from you. They're not forcing you to do anything. That's not "systematic oppression", that's just someone being a bigoted asshole.
I like and respect the rights of all people, and their differences, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, and (though it pains me sometimes) political viewpoints. But please, stop painting youselves as the victims of institutional oppression because it violates the mystical and imaginary "social contract." You're taking away and insulting the fact that there are real human people in North Korea, in Vietnam, in Russia, Venezuela, Argentina, and in places like Sudan who are oppressed, forcefully, into conforming to the wishes of their rulers, governments, and dictators.
If someone won't bake you a cake, don't give that asshole your money. Let someone who isn't a bigot earn the money to bake you your cake. #FreeMarket
