It was the time of night, the moon was shining in the sky and a car was passing by the forest road and was moving its destination. Avni and Neil were sitting in the back seats and the driver was driving the car. Neil was sitting by side-hugging Avni and Avni’s head was on Neil’s chest. Neil smiled and he looked straight. Neil’s smile faded and he frowned.

Neil looked at his chest and Avni was not there. Neil turned his face and Avni was sitting beside him. Avni was looking out from the window. Neil was confused and he thought.

Neil in mind: Kya yeh sab meri imagination thi?

Neil thought and he got hurt. Neil looked at Avni and then he looked down. Neil looked straight and then he looked out from the window.

Avni was looking out from the window and she yawned. Avni rested her head back and closed her eyes. Neil was looking straight and he felt something on his shoulder. Neil saw Avni’s head on his shoulder. Avni tried to adjust her head. Neil smiled to see Avni. Neil slid down slightly so he could give his support to Avni. Neil gave his shoulder to Avni who adjusted her on Neil’s shoulder and slept. Neil smiled to see Avni. Neil took away the hair strand from Avni’s face and petted Avni’s face.

Neil thought something and he pinched his arm and winced. Neil looked at Avni and smiled now Neil was sure that it is reality, not his imagination like before. Neil smiled and jerked his hand. Neil rested his head and closed his eyes.

The night converted into the day. The rays of the sun scattered and the sheet of daylight covered the darkness. A car stopped outside an academy and Avni saw the academy. Avni and Neil got down from the car and they looked at the academy. They smiled. Neil looked at Avni who was looking at the academy. Avni turned her face to Neil and they passed the smile to each other. Neil asked Avni to come and they moved to the gate. Neil talked with the guard and then they got in the car and went inside.

Avni saw the academy and her eyes were twinkling to see it.

Avni and Neil attended the welcome ceremony and then they had the food. Now it was the time to say bye to Neil. Avni and Neil were present inside the premises of the academy. Avni and Neil walked to the car and they stopped a few steps away from the car. They turned to each other and looked at each other.

Both Avni and Neil were looking sad but they smiled to see each other. They were looking at each other and the tears filled in their eyes. Neil moved to Avni and cupped her face. Avni got emotional. Neil was also trying to control his emotions. Neil sighed and suppressed his lips and then Neil looked away. Neil sighed and then he looked at Avni who was looking at her.

Neil: humain humari khushiyun ki qurbani deni pare gi.

Neil looked on and then he smiled.

Neil: Han humare sapne. Humara sapna. Tumhare IPS Officer banana ka sapna.

Avni got emotional.

Neil: Jab se hum shadi ke bandhan main bandhe hain tab se tumhara har sapna sirf tumhara nahi raha woh humara sapna ban chukka hai.

Avni was just looking at Neil.

Neil: In fact us se bhi pehle se. Jab mujhe yeh ehsaas howa ke main tum se pyaar karta hun tab se.

Avni was shocked.

Neil smiled and Avni smiled to see Neil.

Neil: Avni, hum sab ki fikar mat karna bus apni training per focus karo. Ghar per main sab manage kar lunga.

Avni: Tum to khud chale jao ge na.

Neil: Mere to vacation hain abhi. Aur us ke bad bhi main aata jata rahunga. Main semester complete hone ke bad wapis ajaunga aur phir KK aur Vidyut hain na woh sab sambhal lenge.

Avni smiled.

Avni was looking at Neil.

Neil: Hum sab pakle bhichaye besabri se tumhara intazar karenge. Jis din tum IPS Officer ban kar police uniform main oath lo gi us din jo insaan sab se zyada khush hoga woh main hun ga.

Avni was just looking at Neil and she always wondered how can someone love anyone this much.

Neil: Us bheer main jo shakhs sab se proud feel kar raha hoga. Jis ki ankhon main khushi ke ansoo honge woh shakhs main hun ga, Avni.

NeiL’s words touched Avni’s heart.

Neil: us din ka mujhe besabri se intazar rahe ga. Chahe main jahan bhi hun ga us din main sab kuch chor kar tumhare pass aunga. Yeh mera wadda hai tum se.

Avni smiled with moist eyes.

Neil: Avni, humare sapne ko totne mat dena. I want to be a proud husband. Jab tum police uniform main galiyun se guzra karogi to tumhe dekh kar aur girls inspire hungi, mujrim dar kar bhagen ge us din main mera seena chora kar ke wahan ek proud husband ki tarha khara rahun ga.  Us moment ko enjoy karun ga aur sab ko yeh proudly bataun ga ke IPS Officer Avni Neil Khanna ka pati hun main.

Avni was just looking at Neil because she understood the depth of Neil’s words. Neil said that he is Avni Neil Khanna’s husband instead of saying that Avni is his wife. He showed Avni strong.

Neil smiled.

Avni: Mujhe meri Maa ko insaaf dilwana hai aur us ke liye chahe kitna hi kathin rasta kyun naa ho, chahe kanton bhara rasta hi kyun na ho, main har mushkil ko paar kar ke agaye barhun gi aur jeet kar aaungi.

Neil smiled.

Avni: Main humare sapne ko totne nahi dungi, usay pura kar ke rahun gi. Usay sach kar ke dikhaon gi.

Neil smiled.

Neil: Good.

Neil cupped Avni’s face and kissed her forehead. Avni closed her eyes and then they looked at each other.

Neil: Apna khayal rakhna.

Avni nodded.

Avni: Tum bhi apna aur family ka khayal rakhna. Bebe ko roz time se medicine dena. Papa Ji ko bhi knees main pain rehne laga hai. Un ki bhi doctor ke sath next week appointment hai unhe yaad se doctor ke pass le kar jana hai aur baki sab kuch maine list main likh diya hai usay dihan se parh lena. Waise to main sab kuch Bheema Di ko samjha ayi hun lekin phir bhi unhe samjha dena.

Neil smiled.

Avni: Aur…

Neil: Avni. Avni. Avni. Relax. Yeh sab tum pehle bhi mujhe bata chuki ho. Relax.

Avni looked at Neil innocently.

Neil: Maine kaha na main sab manage kar lunga so relax.

Avni sighed. They heard the ring and looked there.

Man: sab log andar chalen.

Avni and Neil looked at each other.

Neil: Ab mujhe chalna hoga is se pehle ke yeh log mujhe dhake maar kar bahar nikalen.

They smiled and Neil hugged Avni. They got emotional and closed their eyes. They sighed and opened their eyes. They wiped their tears and then they sighed. They smiled and broke the hug. Neil cupped Avni’s face.

Neil: Take care, bye.

Avni: You too take care of yourself. Ghar pohanch kar mujhe inform kar dena.

Neil nodded and said, ok.

Avni: Bye.

Neil: Bye.

Neil took steps back and he turned while looking at Avni and taking steps back. Avni was looking at Neil and she turned to him. Neil came to the car and he was looking at Avni. Neil turned to the car and opened the door of the car. Neil looked at Avni who was looking at him. They smiled but their eyes were moist. Avni waved her hand and Neil did the same. Neil got in the car and a tear fell from Avni’s eye. Avni wiped her tears and Neil also wiped his eyes and squeezed his nose. Neil looked at Avni who was looking at the car. Neil started the car and he gulped. Neil reversed his car and looked at Avni. Neil went from there and Avni was looking at the car. Avni’s eyes were moist.

It was the time of the night, Avni was having dinner with others in the canteen. Avni looked at the food and she thought. Avni saw the flashes of having food with the Khanna family and all were smiling and arguing on something while smiling. Avni looked at the food and his eyes got moist. Avni had a bit. On the other side, the scenario was the same. The Khanna family was sitting at the dining table and they were sad. Neil was not with them. Neil was passing by the road and he saw an ice-cream truck. Neil saw the flashes where he and Avni had the ice cream. Neil thought and sighed. Neil saw the time on his watch. Neil thought.

Later, Avni was laying on the single bed and other beds were also there. Avni was missing Neil. Avni saw the flashes where Avni and Neil were laying on the bed and they smiled to see each other. Avni saw Neil sleeping and she adored him. On the other side, Neil was laying on the bed straight in his room and he was missing Avni. Neil’s eyes were moist. Neil turned his face and he saw the flashes where Avni was laying on the bed and she smiled to see him. Avni was sleeping and Neil adored her.
Neil touched Avni’s side and a tear fell from his eye. Neil turned and he took Avni’s pillow and hugged it. Neil cried. Neil sighed and wiped his eyes.

Neil: Don’t cry, Neil, Avni hum dono ke sapne ko pura karne gai hai. Tujhe to us per proud hona chahiye. Tu ase himmat nahi haar sakta. Tujhe Avni ki himmat banana hai kamzori nahi. Ro mat.

Neil sighed and wiped his tears. Neil hugged the pillow more tightly and his eyes were moist. Neil cried.

Days passed and Avni worked hard day and night. Avni was doing push-ups and she daily go for jogging with a trainer and other cadets in the morning. Avni did exercises. One day, Avni saw an officer with his family and Avni missed her family to see them. Avni saw the flashes of her moment with Neela Maa and the Khanna family. Avni’s eyes got moist and she heard the girls. Avni wiped her tears and she turned her face. Avni smiled to see her friends.

One day, there was a marathon and Avni tried to run fast. Avni won the race. Avni was panting and she smiled. Avni and three other trainees were climbing the net. Avni lost the grip and she fell back. Avni’s hand got hurt and she jerked her hand. The trainer asked her to climb again. Avni started again and she climbed and then she came down at the second number. Avni made a face. Everyone clapped and the trainer appreciated her but Avni was not happy.

One day, Avni and the other four trainees were climbing the rope and the trainees fell back but Avni was going up. Avni was about to reach but she heard the gunshot and she flinched. Avni lost her grip and she fell back. Thankfully, there was a mattress and she fell on it but her ankle twisted. Avni’s friends were shocked. Avni fell on the mattress and she squeezed her eyes.

Neil was sleeping in his room and he woke up with a jerk.

Neil: Avni.

Neil was panting and he ran his hand through his hair. Neil licked his lips. Neil gulped.

Neil: Is sapne ka kya matlab hai. Kahin Avni kisi musibat main to nahi hai.

Neil thought. Neil took his phone from the side table and he saw the time.

Neil: Abhi to Avni field main hogi. Bad main baat karun ga. I hope, Avni theek ho. Lekin yeh bechani kyun ho rahi hai.

Neil thought.

On the other side, Avni was laying on the mattress and she was in severe pain.

Trainer: Cadet Number 20, get up and climb.

Avni was in pain.

Avni’s friends: Avni, get up. Avni, come on, jaldi utho.

Trainer: Cadet Number 20, get up and climb.

Avni didn’t get up. Another girl fell back.

Avni’s friends were shocked and they looked at the trainer.

The trainer had many expectations of Avni. He got angry.

Avni opened her eyes and she saw the rope. Avni’s ankle was paining. Avni closed her eyes and she remembered something.

Avni was lost and Avni saw a blurred image of someone. Avni blinked her eyes and tried to clear her vision. Avni saw the person and she was shocked.
