It was the time of the morning, the vehicles were moving to their destination and the sun was shining over the college building. In the classroom, the principal and sir were standing. Avni and Neil were sitting on their seats and other students were present there.

A boy came inside. He was tall and of course handsome. His hair was curl and was perfectly suiting his looks. He smiled to see the class. Everyone smiled and whispered to see his hair and some girls found him cute. Neil looked at him and Avni too looked at the boy. Avni and Neil were looking at the boy.

Principle: He is Ali. Ali Haider. He came from another branch of our college.

DD: sir, yeh to noddle hai.

Ali looked at him and DD hid. Everyone laughed except Avni. Neil was also laughing by looking at his phone.

Principal: behave, boys. So, it is his introduction, the rest he will tell you.

The principal turned to Ali and kept his hand on his upper arm.

Principle: ok, Ali, you join them and start your studies. All the best.

Ali: thank you, Sir.

Ali whispered: sir.

Principal: Yes.

Ali talked in his ear: Sir, I am new here and I don't know anyone here so, make me sit with the sharp student who helps me in my studies.

The principal nodded.

Principle: that's it. Avni is here.

Avni looked at the principal and Neil too looked up at the principal from the phone.

Principle: She is a bright student. She will help you in your studies.

Avni and Neil were shocked.

The principal turned to the students and then he looked at Avni.

Principle: there she is.

Ali looked at Avni and smiled.

Principal: Go and sit with her.

Neil was shocked.

Principal: Avni.

Avni got up.

Avni: yes, sir.

Principal: now Ali is your responsibility. Help him to cover the syllabus.

Avni nodded.

Avni: Sure, sir.

Neil was shocked and he got angry.

Neil whispered: Ali is your responsibility as if he is a kid.

His friends heard him and they looked at his statement then they looked at each other.

Principal: Ali, go and sit with her.

Ali nodded and Neil was shocked.

Ali: ok, sir, thank you.

Ali was going to Avni and Neil was angrily looking at him. Neil's friends were looking at Neil and they were surprised.

Ali sat with Avni and they smiled to see each other. Neil was burning in jealousy and he clenched his fist.

Principal: now, you all carry on, I am going, all the best.

The principal looked at the sir and thanked him then he went.

Sir: Welcome, Ali.

Ali: Thank you, Sir.

Sir: OK, guys, let's resume our lecture.

Ali looked at Avni.

Ali forwards his hand: Hi, Ali, Ali Haider.

Avni smiled. Avni shook her hand with him. Neil was shocked to see them and got angry.

Avni: Avni, Avni Mehta.

They smiled.

Ali: nice to meet you.

Avni: same here.

They smiled.

Avni and Ali were smiling but Neil was looking at them angrily. Neil never saw Avni talking to any boy and today she was sitting with a boy. Neil was not liking that at all but he didn't know that it was just the beginning.

It was the time of morning, the birds were hovering in the sky and were enjoying the cold breeze of the morning. The sun was shining in the sky over the building of the college where the students were getting ready for their future. In one of the classes, Neil and Avni were also sitting where Avni's focus was on the board but Neil's focus was on Avni because Ali was sitting with her. The lecturer saw Neil who was looking at Avni. The professor looked in the direction where Neil was looking and then he looked at Neil.

Lecturer: Neil Khanna.

Neil looked at the lecturer. Avni and other students also looked at the Lecturer and then they looked at Neil.

Lecturer: what I was saying?

Neil got up and he was clueless. He looked at Avni who was looking at him then Neil looked down and turned his face.

Lecturer: hmm. Answer me.

No answer.

Lecturer: If your attention was on board instead of girls, then you would have an idea about what we were studying.

The girls smiled and some felt lucky that maybe Neil was looking at them but the girl, he was actually looking at she had no idea about it. Avni was looking at Neil who looked at her and again he looked down. Neil's friends looked at each other. Neil felt embarrassed and thought about his image what the class was thinking about him but he was not much bothered about other students. He was concerned about what Avni would think about him.

Lecturer: your father is a respectable citizen of our country. The whole city knows him and you... shame on you, Neil.

Avni looked down then she again looked at Neil.

Neil: Sorry, sir.

Everyone was shocked that the great Neil Khanna said sorry. The Lecturer was also shocked because Neil whom they know would have left the class till now instead of saying sorry.

Sir: It's ok. Sit down and now concentrate on the board.

Neil nodded while looking down.

Lecturer: sit.

Neil: Thank you, sir.

It was the second shock in the morning. Everyone looked at each other and Neil sat. Avni turned her face and Neil looked at her then he thought. Neil looked at Vidyut who signed what happened and Neil shook his head not looking at him. Neil's friends were also confused. Neil looked at Avni and then he looked away. Avni looked at him. Avni thought and she again looked at Neil then she turned and concentrated on the board and lecture.

Soon, the lecture ended.

Lecturer: This is just for your reminder that I will check the assignment next week so complete it as soon as you can.

The students made a face and Neil was sitting silently.

Lecturer: Ali, you are new so, Avni will help you with it. Avni.

Avni got up. Neil was shocked and he looked at Avni.

Lecturer: help him.

Avni nodded and Neil was looking at her. Neil got angry. The lecturer went from there and Avni sat. The students started to go.

Ali: canteen chalen?

Neil was shocked. Avni was paused.

Avni: Ab, Ali, I am sorry but main canteen nahi jati.

Neil smiled slightly.

Ali: Kyun?

Avni: Ase hi.

Ali: come on, Avni, chalo na.

Avni: parhai nahi karni. Already late aye ho ab canteen sab choro aur chalo library.

Ali was shocked. Neil was more shocked than him.

Vidyut: chal, Neil.

Ali: Abhi to lecture khatam howa hai aur phir se parhai. I understand that hum knowledge gain karne yahan aate hain lekin mind ko bhi to thora rest milna chahiye na. It needs entertainment to get fresh.

Avni smiled.

Avni: to theek hai, tum jao canteen. Mujhe library jana hai.

Ali: Avni.

Neil grinned his teeth.

Neil in mind: jab woh nahi jana chahti to force kyun kar raha hai. Idiot, chipku kahin ka.

Avni: ek kaam karte hain. Ek jaga hai asi jahan tum kha bhi sakte ho aur phir hum assignment bhi discuss kar sakte hain.

Neil frowned.

Ali: really?

Avni nodded.

Ali: konsi?

Avni: bahar garden area. Wahan greenery bhi hogi, tumhe jo khana hai who kha bhi lena aur phir hum assignment bhi discuss kar lenge.

Ali: great idea.

Avni smiled and Neil clenched his fist.

KK: chal na, Neil.

Neil said looking at Avni: tum log jao, main aata hun.

Avni looked at Neil who was already looking at her.

Ali: Avni?

Avni and Neil looked at Ali who was standing beside Avni.

Ali: apna cellphone number dena.

Avni was surprised and Neil was shocked.

Ali: I hope, you don't mind. Ab woh kya hai na agar mujhe kisi cheeze main help ki zarorat hoi ya koi doubt howa to contact karne main asani hogi.

Avni thought.

Avni: Ab, ok.

Neil was shocked and Ali smiled. Avni gave her number to Ali and Neil clenched his fist more tightly so that it turned red even his face was red. He was trying to control his anger.

Ali: thanks. Ab chalen.

Avni got up.

Avni: ab, tum canteen jao, main tab tak library se ek book issue karwa kar aati hun.

Ali: OK.

They went and Neil's eyes were at Avni. Neil and his friends were looking at them. Neil got up.

Neil: let's go.

Neil grabbed his bag and he went. Vidyut and KK were looking at him. They were surprised by Neil's behavior.

Avni and Ali were sitting on the stairs. There were a few stairs. Ali passed a packet to Avni who saw that then she looked at Ali. Neil was looking at them from away. Avni smiled and she shook her head.

Avni: no, thanks, Ali.

Ali: shut up and have it. Main yeh tumhare liye laya hun.

Avni smiled and she took the packet from him. Neil was shocked and he got angry. Avni picked up a French fries and Ali had the bite of a burger.

Neil: see, how he is eating like a hungry bull.

His friends chuckled and Neil turned his face slightly. Neil's friends stopped and then Neil looked at Avni.

Vidyut: Neil, kya howa hai tujhe? Tujhe is noodle se itna fark kyun par raha hai? Why are you getting affected by his presence?

Neil got angry and he looked back without turning to his friends.

Neil: I am not getting affected by his presence.

KK: tu ho raha hai.

Neil shouted: I said, I am not affected by his presence.

They were shocked. Neil looked at Avni and Ali then he went from there.

Ali and Avni had french fries and burger and then they discussed the topic of the assignment.

It was the time of night and Neil was standing near the window. Neil was looking at the moon and stars. He thought about Avni and Ali and saw the flashes where Avni and Ali were sitting in the class, they shook hands and then they were sitting on the stairs and were eating and studying.

Neil: Am I really getting affected by Ali's presence near Avni?

Neil thought.

Neil: Nahi, asa kuch nahi hai. Yeh Vidyut and KK kuch bhi bakwas karte rehte hain.

Neil thought and he looked at the sky. Neil looked down and then he turned. Neil came to his bed and sat. Neil was feeling restless. Neil lay on the bed but sleep was far away from his eyes. Neil closed his eyes but no use. Neil turned his side but still, it didn't make any difference. Neil didn't want to think about Avni but his heart and mind both were standing on the page and were not letting him sleep. They were thinking about Avni. Neil sat on the bed.

Neil: yeh garmi ki waja se nend bhi nahi arahi... Idiot to AC kyun nahi on kar raha. Mom ne aaj AC bhi nahi on kiya.

Neil got irritated. Neil got up.

Neil said while getting up and going to the window: Yeh mom bhi na. Pata nahi kahan dihan rehta hai un ka aaj kal.

Neil was about to close the window and he saw the moon. Neil once again got lost in the moon because he felt that it is connecting him with someone. This time, his feelings were different.

On the other side, Avni was also looking at the moon and she was smiling to see it. She also felt the same. She also felt a connection. Avni was smiling to see it.

The next day, the vehicles were flowing on the roads. Avni was standing at the bus stop and she was waiting for the bus. A car passed from there and it stopped then it came back and Avni saw it with a frown. She was looking at the car then the person got down from the car and Avni was surprised to see the person.
