Old Bandages
A pair of (E/c) slowly opened to the world once more. The world they opened to was a harsh and bright space, hurting the innocent eyes into submission as they slide closed once more. Scared to be alone, the eyes requested another sense to come back to life and so the nose answered. The nose took in a breath and it too was assaulted by the harshness of the world. the smell of strong chemicals and sterilization filled the nostrils as the sudden jolt brought the sense of hearing to life. The beeps and whirs of a hospital filled the male's ears as the feeling of blankets and cloth covered his skin. But the most particular feeling was on his-
???: Hey you~ Glad to see you're awake!
(E/c) eyes blinked and turned to their right to find a familiar black-haired woman with an eyepatch waiting for them with a smile spreading on her face.
(Y/n): Himeno...
The woman's smiled widened as her name escaped from your dry lips. She raised her hands and tooks your hand softly. Your body felt weak and drained but the warmth in her palm seemed to fill your with a strength o at least turn your head closer to her.
(Y/n): Where am... What happened?
Himeno: Eh... Let's just say you took a nightly tumble there, humpty dumpty~
(Y/n): What...?
The woman's smile flatered a bit before procuring a small mirror to hold in front of you. Your eyes widened softly as you were not met with your face but instead a mound covered in bandages. It vaguely held the shape of your head but the layers of bandages were many and only your nose, ears, and eyes were vaguely shaped out along with bed-mangled (H/c) locks on top of this head.
Himeno: I don't know what you did back there in that noodle shop but you did quite a number on yourself in the process.
Your eyes simply blinked at the appearance before you as your still waking mind tried to remember what had brought you hear. Energy filled your tired body as you pulled yourself into a seated position.
Himeno: You should really rest you know? Everyone else is.
(Y/n): The others are here?
Himeno nodded her head as she lowered a hand into her pocket and brought out a pack of cigarettes. Popping it open, she casually pulled one out and pressed it to her lips. The pack of cigarettes once more returned to her lips as she searched for what you guessed was a lighter or match.
(Y/n): What are... you doing?
Himeno: Hmm?
(Y/n): You can't smoke here... You will get in trouble.
Himeno gave you a weak smile as she chuckled, picking herself up out of her seat. She moved closer to the door and stopped at it with her hand resting on the handle.
Himeno: Don't you think it's kind of funny in a weird way?
(Y/n): What's funny?
Himeno: A fiend that cares about smoking in a hospital.
(Y/n): It's the rules of the hospital.
Himeno: Most fiends and devils wouldn't care... I guess that's why I like you, (Y/n)~ You're more... human~
With that the cryptic woman moved out of the door into the hall. You couldn't understand what she was trying to say but you felt a burning sensation in your legs. They wanted you to move... no demanded you follow. Weakly, your legs swung out to hover before the floor before resting on the smooth material of the hospital floor. It was so... cold... naturally cold as you stumbled forward. It felt like your body wouldn't respond to you as you slide the door open and nearly collapsed out into the corridor. Your head shifted to look down both ways of the corridor to see Himeno sliding open another door to walk in. Your legs took action for your sleep-adled mind as you moved forward, the hospital clothing hanging to your form as the banages seemed to squeeze around what was left of your face and head. Your brain was focused on a single goal. Himeno. Why did she leave so suddenly? A puff of air escaped through your nostrils as your feet managed to stumble up to the door and your pulled it open only to find yourself staring at another hospital corridor.
(Y/n): Himeno? H-Himeno where did...
You stumbled further down he hall, looking for an exit she could of used or another room she could have entered when you bumped into someone, your shoulder harshly connecting with his to the point you both nearly fell.
(Y/n):Ah I-I'm sorry I-
???: EH?! Are you cracked in the head fucker?!
The male howled in anger before walking through the door you had just come from. A chill set in your skin as you could swear that something about the male was familiar. Various people began to fill the hallway... some talking others with looks of terror or sadness on their faces. Some wore simply clothing while others looked like police officers and nurses. Hospitals were usually busy but it felt abnormal to you in your dazed state. more and more people seemed to fill the hall to the point you were pushed up against a hospital door, your arms weakly trying to push them off as your gaze shifted to inside the room. Your eyes widened in shock as it was a bloody mess. Body parts hung from the ceiling as if they were light fixtures as crimson liquid clung to the walls and floor. The bed was stained with similar sanguine liquid with a a lone hand resting on top of the blankets surrounded by shattered glass.
(Y/n): O-Oi what the fuck?! You have to get in there something is really wrong! Oi! Why aren't you listening to me?!
You tried to grip the shirt of a woman passing by you but she simply brushed your hand off. You couldn't understand what was going on as your hand raised to rest against your managed face. Why were there so many?! Your growing frustration only added to the horror of seeing the room as your fingers dug into the bandages and began to rip at them. Your nails only managed to get in a few tears before a strong grip pulled at the back of your gown, choking you out as you were pulled back and thrown through the door you had just entered through. Landing on your stomach, the breath in your lungs puffed out in a choked cough as you tried to pick yourself back up but felt even more drained than when you first woke up in that hospital bed. Your eyes lifted from the white lineoliuem floor in time to see a darkened corridor, much of the lighting snuffed out save one light fixture still flickering to life. Papers had been plastered over the viewing windows into the room and in the middle of the corridor under that lone line was a corpse face down on the hospital floor in a puddle of sanguine liquid. A burst of strength filled your body as you found yourself standing upright once more and moving closer to the corpse. A horrifying sense of nostalgia and familiarity filled you as it appeared to be a black haired woman with a lone cigarette sitting in the puddle of crimson. Carefully, your hand lowered into the hair of the woman and you began to lift her head.
???: You can't kill me...
A voice emenated from the woman's lips that seemed so gentle and quiet yet boomed in your ears, rattling your very brain as your wide-eyed bloodshot stare only seemed to pull your further into the depths as you noticed an eye patch...
A group of three men sat outside looking up at a building, various cars surrounding them in the parking lock as they were ready for any possible scenario. One man in particular seemed to be observant but disinterested as he pulled a metal flask from his pocket and began to unscrew the top. Another man walked up next to him, gazing up at the building.
???: All entrances have been sealed, Kishibe.
The taller man in question simply nodded as he lifted the flask to his lips and took a drink, his piercing eyes never leaving the building as he was waiting for any sign of trouble from within.
Kishibe: The 4th Division has already entered the building and begun sweeping. It shouldn't take them too long to handle what's inside. However, when this is all over I would avoid-
Kishibe and the attention fo the officers and officials gathered were drawn to the sound of shattering glass as a man was hurled through it. He was screaming bloody murder until he fell several stories and hitt he pavement in front of the men with a sickening thud, his body mangled beyond belief. Kishibe simply took another drink before turning to the horrified officer.
Kishibe: Avoid that floor. Division 4 will handle that floor.
The floors of the building their eyes rested on where in total chaos from top to bottom though a particular floor was being handled by a particular man. Opening the elvator doors, the room was painted a lovely shade of red, though you would have never guessed the original color was much lighter. Decaying flesh and body parts littered the floor as a gurgled scream filled the air before a meaty crack silenced it. A lone figure crawled along the floor, trying to reach the elevator as tears filled his eyes. He was in total panic, his eyes wide and bloodshot with adrenaline and fear as he glanced over his shoulder only to try and claw faster to the elevator. Footsteps followed him and before long the crawling male was overtaken by a pair of black dress shoes leading up to black dress pants. The male tried to reach out into the elevator but his hand was stepped on by the dress shoe.
???: P-Please... Please... Y-You can't kill me! I have a wife and kids-
The male was cut off as the figured crouched closer to the ground and offered him something. A handgun. A simple pistol was hovering in front of his face as the terrified male avoided looking upward. The male lifted his free hand and took the weapon into his hand, glancing down at it with an unsure expression.
???: I don't-
???: I want you to choose.
???: C-Choose what?
???: You know what you're choosing.
The terrified male took a moment to look at the weapon before... he made his choice. He lifted the barrel of it and let out a sobbing breath before pointing it upward at the male with a blistering rage, pulling the trigger... only for it to click. The gun was empty. The adrenaline in the man's body overwhelmed him as he began to sob, his body thrashing with tears as the weapon was pulled from his hand and cast aside. The male's face fell down onto the blood stained floor as he couldn't fight the need to simply cry from fear, anger, and sorrow. A hand lowered into his hair and took a firm grip of his locks before lifting him up once more to look his murderer in the eye. Two blistering red eyes on a mask of shattered concrete and blood.
???: Excellent choice.
A voice boomed out from the creature as it's hand pulled back, fist tightly pulled into a fist. Without even batting an eye the creature shot its fist forward to end the man's pitiful life.
Your eyes blinked open with tears flooding your vision as you stumbled back from the visions that flashed through your mind. Your fingers released the head of the poor woman and you glanced down at now blood stained hands. You just wanted answers for what was going on but you weren't allowed such a luxury even in this space. Something hit the back of yours nees and forced you into a seated position, wheeling forward down the corridor at a brisk pace. The wheelchair you had been forced into was being pushed but you couldn't see who was pushing you until it was too late as the wheelchair was pushed off the top of a flight of stairs sending you and the hunk of metal cascading down into darkness. Each tumble and crash against the stairs felt real, each splitting cut and bruise that seemingly had coated your body long before you woke up before finally letting you come to a stop on solid ground at the bottom of the stairs.
???: So... human...
(Y/n): Gah...
You cried out in pain as you opened your eyes to see your fingers broken upon the fall. Under you was a puddle of familiar sanguine liquid that seeped into your now open mouth. With a flourish, your fingers cracked back into position as the cuts and bruises slowly faded away.
???: Human...
(Y/n): What is this? What are you?!
You barked out in growing frustration as you pulled yourself up and glared into he darkness.
???: Why would you... be in a hospital?
???: Not human...
(Y/n): I want some fucking answers! ANSWER ME!!!
???: You...
???: Answer...
Voices filled the space around you but seemingly bounced around in the inside of your head as your gaze was directed to a now lit broken mirror. the frame only clung to a few pieces of mirror as a fist-shaped crevice had damaged the mirror beyond repair. Your weak body carried you forward as you felt nostalgia looking into the mirror only to not bandages but instead your face. Perfectly whole with not even the crevice in it. A stubbly face with (H/c).
???: Are you in control?
???: Death follows...
???: Are you even human anymore?
(Y/n): I'm... I'm not human... I'm a fiend!
???: Are you?
???: Answers...
???: You are a perfect mistake...
You lifted a hand to rest it on your faces only to be reminded you were wrapped in bandages. Frustration built up inside you as your other hand joined int to begin peeling and ripping at the banages piece by piece. You didn't care if your face fell apart because maybe you could at least be met with an end to this nightmare.
???: You don't even know your face!
???: You killed them all! They cried for help and you relished in the slaughter!
???: What is the point in humanity when you have forsaken it so happily?
Your fingers peeled at the old bandages piece by piece until your (E/c) gaze finally lifted once more to the mirror only to see a smiling Himeno. Her lone green eye meeting your emotional gaze as one of her hands somehow reached through the broken mirror to rest on your face, her finger's tracing along the crevice in your jawline.
Himeno: I always loved how human you were, (Y/n)~ Don't ever forget that for me, ok?
(Y/n): But... The blood a-and the body parts and... Himeno you are-
Himeno: Do it for me, ok?
Himeno offered you the kindest smile you had seen as she pulled her hand back only to bring it forth again to place an object between your lips. It was one of the cigarettes from her pack. In fact... it was the one she had between her lips earlier.
Himeno: There's your reward for the mission~ It may be indirect...but at least I kept my promise~
Liquid flooded your eyes as you had to close them softly only for this connection to be the one that woke you from this nightmare.
A figure sat bored in an elevator waiting to be let off on a particular floor in a particular building. As the elevator slowly came to a stop with a meldocic ping, the doors slid open to reveal a bloodbath with a figure standing in the middle of the hall, surrounded by corpses. The short figure slowly walked out of the elevator and slowly walked down the corridor, lowering to pick up a head along the way. The figure's eyes fell on the male only to see him standing in the middle of the hallway with wide eyes briming with tears, sobs escaping from his body as he clenched a cigarette between his lips. A tear-stained lighter fruitlessly attempting to light the end of the cigarette as (E/c) eyes turned to look at the figure.
The figure seemed to be a younger androgynous male, disinterested vermillion eyes meeting your gaze thought a flicker of concern seemed to trick your mind for a moment. Matching vermillion hair sat shoulder length on the male as a glowing halo rested above his head. Large white wings reset behind him as he simply waited for you. This angel must be here for some reason. Maybe it was these men... or perhaps it was you? Maybe it was a message for... Another sob wracked through your body as the shorter male spoke.
???: Are you ready to leave? The other's are waiting.
(Y/n): I'm sorry...
???: Why are you apologizing to me?
(Y/n): I'm just so sorry...
The male seemed to contemplate for a moment, looking down at the decaying head in his hand before his gaze lifted to meet your eyes once more.
???: I'll accept your apology I guess...
(Y/n): I... I'm so sorry...
He accepted your apology... but she can't... none of them can... What was the point of it all?
Looking like a human but having no humanity...?
