Silence. This was all that filled attic of The Nest - Huge residence placed on a cliff in the ocean. Place full of creatures that are looking for an opportunity to kill it's the smallest inhabitants.

   Even the fact how dangerous are around, there are still places that are safe from the worst monsters of old mansion, where small animals are hiding, trying to survive. The sound of cracking planks filled the void as small paws stepped on the wooden floor. The young fox in yellow raincoat was running in the attic jumping through wooden blocks that where everywhere in the abandonment room. The vixen stopped sniffing in the air perking her ears up.

   The fox heard wind whistling caused by flapping wings. Her ears turned in the direction from which the sound came out. She looked up to side of the source of the noise. The girl noticed a pigeon. The bird was in it's nest, maybe sitting on it's eggs. The fox's stomach growled. Those eggs could be perfect to feed her and her two other friends. Seeming that bird was flapping it's wings while ago, it probably came back from hunting for food to protect it's unhatched children. It wasn't the best message for a hungry fox. 

   She was searching for food too long to give up a chance for meal. She looked around to find a way to where the bird was. The fox looked on the right. There were wood pieces and planks, that fell from destroyed ceiling revealing dark blue sky with red glow on purple blue clouds. The vixen tried to climb on the old planks that could break under her paws anytime. No matter how carefully the girl took her steps wood was crackling. When she was close enough the wooden beam where the bird's nest was, the fox jumped. The vixen neatly dropped down, seeming that foxes are great jumpers.

   When fox girl was standing steadily on the beam she started slowly approach to pigeon dropping on four paws. The bird noticed her. When vixen was close enough she jumped forward trying to attack the pigeon. The bird pushed attack back pecking and scratching the girl. Stunned fox started to step back until she lost ground under her paws. Vixen was about to fall, but in the last moment she caught the edge of the wooden beam, but bird was still attacking her pecking her front paws. The fox fell on the ground.

   The girl was lying there barely alive breathing heavily. Her whole body hurt and her head was filled with noise. Someone's voice brought her back to reality

   - Five, is that you? - Mysterious person asked.

Her ears perked up. She turned her head towards the voice opening her lime green eyes. Her vision was blurry, but she could see, who it was. There was standing young tiger boy in brown coat, dark brown trousers and red scarf. Big blue wooly hat was covering his head making small shade on his face. When the boy noticed her lying on the ground quickly ran up to her.

   - Five, you're alright?! - The tiger asked the fox with worried tone crouching next to her.

Five got up shaking her head to get better vision. She sat up circling her bushy tail around her.

   - Yes I'm fine, Ten - Five answered rubbing her forehead under her long, brown bangs.

Ten handed her his right front paw to help the fox got up. Five accepted his help and tried to stand up.

   - What happened? - The boy asked again.

When the fox was stading stably she answered:

   - I fell from wooden beam - Five said while looking up pointing place where she was with her black nose. - I heard the bird on top there. It was sitting on it's nest. I thought in it's nest there are eggs, so I just climbed on the wood rubble to get there. I wanted to startle pigeon to get to it's nest, but bird attacked me back and here I am.

   - Not the best idea - Ten said twitching his nose.

   - Yeah - fox girl nodded. - But last times finding food there is getting harder day by day. I couldn't lost that chance.

   - I understand - tiger boy answered. - I also found nothing. I hope Six had better luck than us both.

   - I hope so - Five said as she looked up at gaps in the ceiling that were revealing navy blue sky with white stars glowing on it. Small sun rays were the only source of light in darkening room. - It's late. We need to go to our camp before there will be too dark.

Ten yawned then said:

   - I agree.

   The kids started to run forwards jumping through wooden blocks and other obstacles. Five quickly overtook Ten. Her small fox paws were neatly avoiding the wooden rubble. Ten tried to catch her up. His huge and wide tiger paws were awkwardly stepping between wooden blocks and planks. Five swiftly jumped onto the pile of wood rabble climbing on the top of it. Behind the pile, there was small area that was way cleaner and well-kept than other part of the attic.

   - Six, we're back! - Five shuddered at Ten's voice next to her. - Are you there?

Small fox girl in white shirt and shorts was sleeping under the plank on some cloths, tightly curled into ball with her puffy, orange tail with white tip on it circled around her. Her black-orange ears perked up at tiger's call. The vixen came out from her lair and looked at them. Five and Ten have already jumped down to her.

   - Yes, I am! - Six answered wagging her tail. - How was the food expedition?

   - Poorly - Ten said scratching back of his head. - We both found nothing. I hope you had better luck than us.

Six's ears perked down and her tail stopped.

   - No - she said looking down with her ruby red eyes. -  Because of us, the birds are looking for better places to live, without small predators messing with their lives.

Six looked towards the medium sized hole in wall. The fiery red aura was fading where sun hid behind dark waves of the ocean.

   - Great, we are going to sleep hungry - Ten said walking behind some wooden pallets towards his lair.

Five rolled her eyes at his statement and looked at Six. Smaller vixen didn't react. She was just sitting on the floor, with her tail circled around her. Six was looking down, glaring at her small black hands. Five came closer to her crouching next to her.

   - Don't worry - older fox started. - You know him. He didn't want to offend you. - Five added looking at Six. Smaller fox was still sitting glaring down.

   - I'm not sad at his small tease - Six said looking up. - I'm sad, because I'm afraid we'll need to left.

Younger's ears dropped as she looked down again. Placed placed her black front paw on Six's small shoulder.

   - Don't worry, sis - Five started smiling warmly. - If we would have to leave doesn't mean we would need to separate.

Six's ears perked up.

   - Yeah - Six mumbled looking at the white stars shining on the night sky.

She yawned then got up.

   - We'll better go to sleep - younger fox said. - Tommorow we need to find food no matter what.

Six started to walk towards some planks that were hanging from ceiling making some kind of tent under them. Five got up and followed her. Six was inside of the hole and she got out in the small area. There were some cloths folded up into three small nests. On one of them was Ten, sleeping hard like a stone snoring soundly. He was curled into a ball on his coat using his hat as a pillow. Five came out from the tunnel under the planks and walked towards her 'bed'. Older vixen sat on her nest and took her hood of revealing her long brown hair tied into braid. Six came to her bed too. She lied down and curled into a ball covering her face with her tail.

   - Goodnight - Six said before falling asleep.

   - Night - Five said back taking off her raincoat.

She stayed in her black shirt and white shorts. Five lied on her back looking up into blackness. Will they really have to leave? The fox girl shaked her head to get rid of thought and lied on her belly placing her head on her front paws. She closed her eyes and let the sleep take her.
We'll see what tommorow will bring.
