'I can do this, i can do this, i can do this...'

He looked at his shaking hands, elextricity dancing on the tips of his fingers, and sighed.

"Oh who am i kidding, i can't do this!" He groaned in frustration, messing up his hair. He flopped down onto his bed and looked defeatedly at the ceiling.

".. I can't do anything..."

His quirk is... Feisty.. And very much on the dangerous side. It was always hard controling it, as using too much will only hurt.

He couldn't exactly correct his friends on the aftermath of an overload.

He can't just go up to them and say: "Hey, did you know when overloading, i was actually in a lot of pain and i can't see or hear or feel correctly, and vulnerable to everything, not to mention my head hurts like hell afterwards and it affects my memories, making me seem dumb as fuck. Yeah, that is basically my 'wheeey' phase summed up." That would make them pity him.

They wanted their sunshine making their days fun and happy with his idiocy and dumbassery. They don't need the real him slowing them down.

He's worked so hard on controlling his quirk to catch up to them. He can't fall behind now, not when he's closer than he was before.

He wants his classmates to be happy.

He wants to be a hero more than anything.

And if he hurts himself in the process, well, he's certain no one would care enough to notice.

He wouldn't want them to.

==========================

Shizuki watched in facination and a bit of worry as the blonde boy discharged a high amount of electricity into the alley way, zapping the villains who had been cornering him before.

Based on the face the kid made after the shock, he assumed he suffered brain damage from his own quirk. He may not be a medical expert, but he know from experience those things give nasty migraines that lasts forever.

Shizuki sighed. He wished Owl were here, but alas, the group of oddballs are patroling a different part in town, and he's gotta do what he's gotta do.

Tying up the criminals with ropes he always has by his side waiting for the police to arrive because of the earlier electricity, the redhead proceed to pick up the disoriented boy -who he was sure was the Kamisomething boy Lynx sometime talks about- and carried him to the direction of Cerberus' patroling radar.

As expected, Owl notices him immediately.

"Sensei, what happened?"

The other two looked at the unconcious blonde on his back curiously.

"There were some criminals, and this boy happened. Don't want to leave him there vulnarable when he suffered like this, and the cops won't be helping when they find out he used his quirk."

Owl approached the blonde once he was set down.

"Kaminari Denki, 15, quirk: Electricity. He's in UA's Hero course, Lynx's classmate." The burgundy redhead informed. "...You were right, he did get a concusion, but that will fade soon..." Bat and Fox both cringed. "...And everlasting scars from his quirk too, it seems."He looked at the faint lightning strike scar on Denki's arms that doesn't seem new. He could barely notice it unless he looked close enough.

Fox unconciously gripped at his arm, but a pat from Bat relaxed him. He looked at her in gratitude.

"Let's cut this night short, and focus on getting Kaminari home." Bat stepped forward.

But fate seemed to be against them tonight, seeing as Denki stirred awake with a pained moan. Shizuki left as fast as he can.

"Anyone got the liscence of the car that hit me..."

The blonde openned his eyes weakly, before shutting it tight.

"Please don't kill me i'm not worth it i swear!!" He squeaked. Bat snorted.

"Why would we kill you?" Bat chuckled.

"Cerberus..?" Denki openned his eyes again, albeit hesitantly, and found himself gasping in shock.

"Why are you out on the streets at 3 am in the fucking morning?" Fox drawled boredly.

"Is it Insomnia? A nightmare? Did you spend all night playing games?" Bat leaned in worriedly.

Denki leaned away, just enough to bump into Owl.

"S-sorry!!"

"It's ok." Owl reassured. "Are you alright? Do you need us to escort you home?"

Denki shook his head furiously. "You don't need to go through all that trouble for me! I can go home myself, just tell me where we are right now-" he atempted to stand up, only to fall back down as a wave of migraine washed over him.

"Uhuh, nope, we're getting ya back home." Fox folded his arms and stared at the kid, daring him to say otherwise. Denki wisely shut up.

He told the trio his address, and before Denki could comprehend anything, Owl scooped him up bridal style, and the three began jumping on rooftops.

His awe at how Owl could hold him and jump so easily at the same time distracted Denki from the embarassment at being carried that way.

"Thanks for helping me, you didn't need to though.." He found himself telling the vigilante trio when they dropped him off on his room's balcony.

Bat shook her head lightly.

"We wanted to." She said with finality.

"Your quirk.." Denki flinched at the mention of it. "Please have more faith in it. Have more faith in yourself." Fox put a gloved hand on his shoulder.

"Huh?.."

"It's dangerous, yes. It hurts you, yes. But that doesn't make you lesser than others. If anything, It makes you better, because it took you more effort to be where you are now than most. That's not weak, it just means you're strong in your own way! So please, stop hurting yourself 'cause you if think that'll help, it won't."

And when Owl kneeled down to embrace the blonde, Denki swore he saw blue gemstones under the vigilante's goggles, filled with so much kindness and worry and compassion and understanding and Denki just can't hold back his tears.

"I'm sorry..." He sobbed into the gentle and warm embrace of the Cerberus trio.

"Don't be." Bat whispered softly, patting his back comfortingly. "You're a great person, and deserves to be treated as such."

Fox patted his head comfortingly, like his parents do when they're proud of him.

And Denki just couldn't stop brawling his eyes out. He doesn't know how Cerberus knows of his condition, he doesn't care.

He just wants to be like this forever.

--------------------------------------------------

Once the electric blonde fell asleed, Owl opened the balcony doors and carried the boy to his bed, tucking him in.

He didn't forget to leave sticky notes for Denki.

Outside, Fox's fists clenched.

"He doesn't deserve this.."

"I know.."

"He's too young to have to go through this.."

"I know.."

"It's not fair.." Fox gritted out. Bat stayed silent.

Finally, Owl got out and closed the doors silently.

"Let's go."

Their hearts were heavy that night.

----------------------------------------------------

The next morning, Denki woke up with a jolt. Last night's memories flooded back, and he believed all of it was just a dream.

'A dream..' It left a bitter taste in Denki's mouth.

He turned to his night stand, and had to double check.

He picked up the sticky note, and suddenly he felt like he's on cloude nine.

[Kaminari Denki

Sorry for last night, we didn't mean to pry, but you must know that pushing yourself too hard will not only hurt you, but your friends as well. Please care more for your own wellbeing, even if you're working hard to accomplish something, try to take breaks from time to time.]

[You could talk to us and others on our page, Gate Guardians: Cerberus and the Hell Beasts, if you like. It's private so don't worry.

P/s: please burn these notes when you're done

-CERBERUS]

Denki smiled and took out his phone.

Talking to others doesn't seem half as bad as before.
