NIGHT time was Jisungs least favorite part of the day. Mostly because night times in the past traumatized him, and he never goes one night without thinking about the yelling, the hitting, the insults; nothing could ever erase those memories. They were all vivid, and every time he looks out his door into the darkness, he sees him. The man he never truly recognized, but knew. The man was dangerous, and a criminal that didn't take 'no' for an answer. How Jisungs blood boiled at just thinking about him, but gave it up as he knew he could've and can't do anything about such things.
Once Jisung knew Taeyong was fast asleep, he got up from his bed and went to see where Jaehyun was suppose to be sleeping. Taeyong insisted on Jaehyun staying the night with them that night, and Jisung didn't protest knowing why. He didn't mind Jaehyun, not one bit, he just worried all the time about his father. He worries that Jaehyun may take off the mask and turn his shoulders cold like the last man did. Jisung wouldn't let that happen again, and he'll see Jaehyuns reaction when he tells him such a story. If he stays, or if he goes.
Walking into the small living room, Jisung spots Jaehyun sitting on the couch. The said male had a book in his hand, and was reading in his head. Jisung walks quietly into the room, and once Jaehyun catches notice of him he closes his book.
"Couldn't sleep?" Jaehyun asks, but Jisung shakes his head in answer.
Jaehyun raises an eyebrow, and watches as the little boy comes over and sits next to him on the couch. Jisung stares at him for awhile, blank eyes as he's always had them half way shut. Resting face as he examines the other in front of him. Jaehyun lets him, and doesn't move as he sits comfortably.
"I have a question." Jisung finally speaks up.
"Ask away." Jaehyun says, preparing himself mentally for it.
"Do you love my father?" Jisung asks in a whisper.
Jaehyun thinks about it for a moment, if it is a trick question or not. Which it wasn't, and he simply knew the answer.
"Yes, I do." Jaehyun whispers back, staring at the boy to find a reaction.
Jisung looks away, and stares at the floor for a moment.
"Would you love him if he couldn't love you back?" Jisung asks lowly, not looking at Jaehyun.
Jaehyun raises an eyebrow, thinking about the question carefully.
"Why could your father not love me back?" Jaehyun speaks his question.
Jisung looks up at him, and then frowns deeply. Jaehyun doesn't miss the dull eyes that stare into his, and the slow breathing in silence.
"If I told you our past, would you look at us the same? Would you look at my father the same?" Jisung whispers the last part, as if not even wanting to be heard.
Fortunately, Jaehyun does hear it as nothing is making noise around them but the distance cars.
"Your past doesn't define you Jisung, nor your father. I could care less what you've done." Jaehyun states.
"Or what he's done?" Jisung asks, and Jaehyun furrows his eyebrows in confusion.
Jaehyun waits for Jisung to continue, and the boy simply stares at him.
"My daddy didn't deserve it." Jisung mumbles and looks away from Jaehyun, almost in shame.
Jaehyun watches in deep confusion, as he sees the mood in Jisung swift from one to another. Jaehyun was dying to know what the boy was thinking, it was eating at him for just one answer.
"Didn't deserve what Jisung?" Jaehyun inquires.
"The abuse." Jisung says under his breath, his dull eyes staring at the floor as if nothing.
Jaehyun is taken back by the answer, and stares at the boy, hoping to find something that explained such a deep answer. All he got was dull eyes staring at the floor in shame. Could it be true? Could those scars be from the man that Jisung was talking about? Could they all be painful memories? Jaehyun didn't even want to think as he clenched his jaw.
He then heard a sniffle to his right, and looks up to see a single tear run down Jisungs cheek slowly.
"Please don't leave us, don't hurt him." Jisung throws himself into Jaehyuns arms, and Jaehyun is quick to hold the boy as he hears the quiet sobs.
Jisung then completely broke down, as if the thoughts in his head couldn't help themselves from showing. The emotion was too much for the small boy to handle, the bottle of the cap was broken off and all emotions came through. He hold the shaking boy close, and his ears ache at the noises of a crying child. He wishes he could do something, say something, but all he could do was hold him.
"I won't, I promise." Jaehyun promises, not only to Jisung, but to himself and Taeyong.
Suddenly, a light turns on in the hallway and Jaehyun looks up to find a tired looking Taeyong standing there. His eyes widened though as he saw the scene in front of him.
"What's going on? Jisung? Why are you crying? What happened?" Taeyong whispers, a confused look on his face as he sees his son crying in Jaehyuns arms.
He is quick to walk over as Jisung wipes his tears. Jisung however, gets up and runs to his room, knowing he did wrong. Taeyong was about to go after when he was quickly stopped.
"Taeyong," Jaehyun stops him, and Taeyong furrows his eyebrows in question. "I think it's time we talked." Jaehyun states.
Taeyong's mind clicks at that moment, and his face turns from question, to anxious. He curses in his mind Jisung decided to tell Jaehyun without his permission, but then again, it wouldn't have been long before the male found out.
Taeyong stays where he is, and Jaehyun frowns.
"Is it true?" Jaehyun asks quietly, and Taeyong presses his lips in a thin line, not looking at Jaehyun.
"Taeyong, it's okay— " Jaehyun stands and tries to walk over to Taeyong, but the other backs away in defense.
Jaehyun saw something in Taeyongs eyes as he did, something he's never seen before. Fear. There was pure terror in his eyes, and he didn't miss the small shaking of the body. Jaehyun reaches out to calm the other, almost trying to just get him into his grasp.
"Don't." Taeyong almost begs as he backs away, looking down at the ground submissively.
Jaehyuns heart breaks at the scene, and tone in Taeyongs voice made him want to cry. Taeyong had never looked so vulnerable in front of him, yet here he is, breaking down at the seems that hold him captive.
"Taeyong, it's okay. It wasn't your fault." Jaehyun whispers, now making small step, in fear of scaring the other.
"You don't know that, you don't know anything." Taeyong panics, and his anxiety takes over as beads of sweat is forming on his forehead and hands. His heart speeds up, and he can hear it pounding in his ears as if a loud drum.
He backs away, but his lower back hits the kitchen counter. He stares at the floor, hearing footsteps come closer and closer. A memory, a vivid image, flashes in his mind.
He was here, standing in pain and terror as his lover yelled at him with such force and anger he shook in fear. How thin he was, how broken he was, and how scared never left his emotions. Never left his mind. The fear of being asleep, the fear of speaking, the fear of walking, the fear of breathing, the fear of living. It was like a wave washing back to renew his mind. His eyes shut, in fear of such things.
Next thing he knew, he was enveloped in a strong pair of arms. Taeyong panicked for a split second, until he smelled the cologne on the others clothes. He flinched as he felt a hand caress his soft locks, and slowly leaned into the touch. Taeyongs shaking didn't stop, but his heart slowly went back to normal beats. His eyes slowly opened, and he gave a exhaled slowly. His sweaty hands shakily came up, and gripped themselves on the mans clothes. It felt like home almost, and gave him nostalgic memories when he was younger. When his mother still loved him, as he was young and innocent, and hugged him as if she meant it.
Taeyong calmed down, surely by slowly, and gained his breath back. His body still shook, as it couldn't stop for some reason. His hands were also shaking as they kept a tight grip on Jaehyuns shirt.
His hearing then came back into focus, and he heard soft shushes and comforting words. He wanted to cry, but it was as if he couldn't. His body couldn't bring itself to cry. It was almost scary, but funny as he couldn't find any tears to shed. All he could do was close his eyes and breath.
After a minute or 2, Taeyong collected himself, but didn't detach himself from Jaehyun. He didn't want to, in fear of it all being a dream. Jaehyun must've noticed the others fear, and smiled softly as he leaned down to whisper in the others ear.
"Taeyong, I'm not leaving. How about we go back to bed?" Jaehyun suggests softly.
It gives a second for Taeyong to nod slowly, and they pull away. Taeyong didn't let go of Jaehyuns shirt though, as he couldn't bring himself to.
Walking back into Taeyongs room, Jaehyun was about to walk out whenever Taeyongs grip became tighter. He turns around to see Taeyong staring down at the floor in embarrassment.
"Don't leave me alone- please." Taeyong whispers.
"I won't." Jaehyun gets the message, and joins Taeyong on the hard mattress.
The night was quiet, as if the cars had gone away from the streets and to another side. The lights were dimmed in the room, as only the moon saw the two soon to be lovers huddled close to one another. The wind picked up though, and whistles throughout the city loudly as if to be heard even in the deepest of slumber. However, the two did not mind the wind or the moons bright glow. For they had each other close, and their dreams connected to one as their lust for love became strong.
