The Last Dance

CHAPTER 32: THE LAST DANCE

The Saltzman Apartment

Klaus was in Mystic Falls.

Well, not Klaus Klaus but his essence was there as he was currently inhabiting the body of Alaric Saltzman. And he got Isobel to kidnap Katherine, and she'd give him all the information he needed. Basically, everything was going exactly how he wanted it. He had a list of things he needed done.

1. Take over a random body
2. Kidnap/get revenge over Katerina
3. Drink all of Alaric's bourbon
4. Find Elena and Natalia
5. Have his minions pick up dry-cleaning

And since he was only on number 3 or number 4 his minions haven't picked up his drycleaning so he was looking through Alaric's shirts for something to wear. "Oh! Who is this guy, Safari Sam?"

He finally found two shirts he didn't find completely revolting and held them up in front of Katherine. "Okay, bad, or badder?

"The dark colors suit you better." Katherine answered reluctantly.

"Oh, thank you, honey," Alariklaus said in a sickly sweet voice. "Okay, pop quiz. The dagger and white ash are in the Salvatores' possession, correct?"

Katherine's fright mixed with Klaus's compulsion gave her no choice but to answer. "The dagger was used to kill Elijah. You'll find him in the basement of the Salvatore house."

"Okay, that dagger needs to stay exactly where it is. The last thing I need to do is resurrect Elijah. Oh, that guy is a buzzkill." Alariklaus groaned,

"Don't forget you're on the outs with your girlfriend Jenna." Katherine reminded him.

"Right. Elena's aunt. For all the lies about Isobel. What else?" Alariklaus asked.

"Ehm, about Natalie... you and her, you've been alone for a few years so you're very close and so be very protective over her." Katherine said, her gaze trained on the floor.

Alariklaus smirked at her. "I've always been protective of Natalia. I doubt that will be the hardest part of this. Is that it?"

"That's it." Katherine confirmed.

Alariklaus smirked again as he walked closer to the brunette and touched her face. She flinched, of course, knowing that even though that was Alaric's hands, that was still Klaus in there.

"Oh, so jumpy." Alariklaus commented amusedly.

"Please, just...kill me. I've told you everything that I know." Katherine pleaded uncharacteristically.

Alariklaus put his hands on the armrests of the chair Katherine was forced to sit on as he smirked menacingly. "You see, I believe that you believe that, but what would you not know? What could they be keeping from you? Hmm? Anything? Tell me." he, of course, compelled her.

"They were trying to see if Bonnie could find a way to kill an Original without a dagger." Katherine revealed reluctantly.

"Bonnie the best friend? I thought you said she didn't have her powers anymore." Alariklaus said, him thinking that his hostage may have lied to him.

Katherine recognized the look in his eyes and was quick to defend herself against the one person she truy feared. "She doesn't or didn't. I don't know. You kidnapped me, remember? I'm kinda out of the loop."

Alariklaus gave her a look to let her know that he was not amused. " Well, we'll have to get to the bottom of that."

"Please, just kill me, Klaus, and be done with it." Katherine pleaded once again.

"And show you kindness?" Alariklaus asked as if the thought amused him. "I've searched for you for over 500 years. Your death is going to last at least half that long, plus, don't think that I didn't hear what you did to Natalia," he grabbed a single-blade pocketknife from his pocket and opened it and held it before Katherine. "I want you to take this knife... And stab yourself."

Katherine did just what he told her to and she shoved the pocket knife in her thigh, hissing in pain as the blade penetrated her flesh.

"Now take it out." Alariklaus commanded, and the 500 year old vampire followed his command and her wound healed. "Now while I'm gone, I want you to do that over and over and over again and if you get bored, switch legs."

"Where are you going?" Katherine asked, trying to hide the relief she had from him not being around her.

"I'm gonna lay eyes on my precious doppelganger and finally see Natalia face to face for the first time in a thousand years." Alariklaus smirked before leaning forward and kissing Katherine's forehead bitterly. "Oh, don't look so glum, Katerina. The fun is just beginning. Again."

The Salvatore Boarding House

The night before, when Elena, Stefan and Damon talked whilst Natalie was wallowing in her own grief, they all decided that it was best to make the boarding house their own personal safe house as Elena would officially be the sole owner (seeing as Damon refused to let Natalie have that much control over his house seeing as she would rub it in by saying stuff like: "My house, my rules" or something), Natalie wasn't pleased with her not having her own house but Elena just said "I'm older so I should have my own house before you." That night Natalie had a great dream about punching her in the face.

But, back to the story, where Elena, Bonnie and Natalie were standing together as Elena signed the papers and Natalie was subtly glaring at her.

"Please sign here and here." the lawyer instructed the eldest Gilbert twin.

"Okay." Elena said. She took his pen and signed where he told her to.

"So this place is all yours? They just gave it to you?" Bonnie asked her best friend.

"For now. As sole owner, I'm the only one who can invite a certain type of person in here, if you know what I mean." Elena explained, ignoring Natalie's annoyed look.

"You guys' own personal safe house." Bonie commented.

"Well, not both of ours because Damon thought I shouldn't get a house. That son of a bitch." Natalie sighed, crossing her arms over her chest.

Bonnie smiled at the huntress amusedly. "We all know you'd use it against him."

"Now I'll never get the chance!" Natalie complained. "But yeah, basically our safe house."

"Wouldn't want to clean it." Bonnie joked, making the girls laugh.

Elena was soon finished with the documents and the three girls walked inside, Bonnie leaving for another room as she was getting their jackets. The lawyer left the girls alone as he was done with his job and he didn't want to stay longer then necessary.

"Thank you Mr. Henry!" Elena called out to the man, who jus grunted in response.

Elena feigned not remembering having to invite Stefan and Damon in, and they were stuck at the treshold.

"I'm sorry. I completely forgot," Elena lied before turning to her boyfriend. "Stefan. Would you like to come inside my house?"

"I would love to. Thank you." Stefan smiled at her as he walked into the house, placing himself between Elena and Natalie.

The three looked over at Damon who was staring at Elena annoyedly. "What are we, twelve?"

"One of us is." Natalie stated dryly as she was picking at her nails.

Elena, of course, ignored Natalie as usual. "If I let you in, do you promise to obey the owner of this house?"

Natalie finally stopped picking at her nails as she turned to Stefan. "Look! She's using it against him! I could have had the house because Elena is doing the exact same thing." she whispered to him.

"No." Damonn responded to Elena.

"And who do you think would have used it against him more?" Stefan smiled as he whispered into Natalie's ear.

"That's not the point." Natalie grumbled annoyedly.

"Seriously, Damon. My way," that made Natalie cough, but Elena didn't listen. "You promised. I call the shots. No lies, no secret agendas. Remember?"

Damon rolled his eyes. "Yes, Elena. Sure."

"Then please, come in." Elena smiled sweetly at him.

Damon walked into the house, Elena closing the door after him. "Shut up." he grumbled as he saw the looks on Stefan and Natalie's faces.

Bonnie, somehow, spent five minutes to pick up Natalie and Elena's jackets and just returned. She gave the twins their jackets and offered their thanks.

"Wait, where are you going?" Stefan asked them.

"Jupiter, I hear it's nice this time of year." Natalie answered sarcastically.

Elena rolled her eyes at the shorter while younger brunette and decided to go with the more serious approach. "To school."

"No, no, no. We didn't create a safe house for you guys to leave it." Damon protested.

"Yeah, guys, Klaus is out there. We know that. " Stefan added.

"But where?" Natalie asked the brothers, and she got no response. "See, no one knows. And as much as we appreciate you guys doing this we're not going to be prisoners. Because we still need to go to school so that if Elena survives she has a future to return to."

"Your way, Natalie." Damon agreed.

"Thank you for acknowledging me as opposed to a few others." Natalie glared at Elena and Stefan.

Bonnie still saw the resistance on Stefan's facial expression. "Don't worry, I'm ready. If he shows his face, I can take him. Know how."

"The way I see it, next to Bonnie is the safest place that we can be." Elena smiled at the brothers.

"Plus, if he shows his face, I'm gonna kick his ass." Natalie smirked. "Come on guys."

The girls left, Stefan not far behind.

▹▹▹

Mystic Falls High School

Elena was definitely trying to get Stefan with her as her date to the decade dance, to which declined. It was more of her holding up a sixties dance poster and him shaking his head. Elena decided that she needed some support and turned to Natalie with the poster, who nodded in agreement with two thumbs up, and Stefan glared at her to which she blew him a kiss.

But then Alariklaus made his appearance as he tried to do his best as a convincing history teacher. He already knew he was going to fail, but he had no other choice if he was going to see Natalia and his precious doppelganger.

"Hello, class. What are we learning today?" Alariklaus said doing his best at acting, although painting was more of his area in art, but he did his best and he had to ignore knowing that the two people he's been wanting to see for so long was in that same room.

"With the decade dance tonight, we've been covering the sixties all week." Natalie reminded who she thought was her father, and his gaze turned to her, resting on her for a little longer then normal.

"Right, thank you... Natalie." Alariklaus responded, having to force himself to exchange the usual A with an E.

"The, ah, uhm," he said, starting to write on the board. "The sixties. I wish there was something good I could say about the sixties, but...Actually, they kind of sucked. Except for the Beatles, of course. They made it bearable. Uh, what else was there? The Cuban missile thing, the... we walked on the moon. There was Watergate."

"Watergate was the seventies, Ric," Elena corrected the original vampire in a human history teacher's body. But then she noticed all the weird looks she got from her fellow students. "I-I mean, Mr. Saltzman."

Alariklaus's attention was then seized by her as he stared at her for a second too long. "Right. It all kind of mushes together up here, the sixties, seventies. Thank you, Elena."

▹▹▹

After "Alaric" acted weird during class, Natalie decided that she had to ask him about it, her worry for him being abnormally large as he still didn't know of Isobel's death, seeing as he disappeared before Natalie and Elena were picked up by the Salvatore brothers.

"Hey, Dad, you okay?" the brunette asked her father as she walked into the classroom he was all alone in.

"Yeah, Nat, of course. What is it?" he asked, smiling softly at the huntress.

Natalie shrugged. "I don't know. You were acting weird. Maybe it's because you heard about Mom's death or... I don't know."

Alariklaus sighed as he looked up at her. "Yeah, I heard about that. Are you okay?"

Natalie shrugged, placing herself on the edge of his desk. "It's not easy. But... I'll get through it. I always do."

Alariklaus frowned as he noticed the sadness in her eyes. A sadness he caused. "Yeah, Klaus is some bastard."

Natalie chuckled at her 'father's words, a smile gracing her face. "Yeah, I can agree with that."

"He won't get to you, you know that, right?" he lied, seeing as he had already gotten to her but he wanted to calm her down a little with all the stress that she had lately.

Natalie's eyes widened, her not having told Alaric. "Who told you? Damon?"

He smiled softly at the awkward teenager in front of him. "He may have squealed."

"I should stake him again." Natalie groaned.

Alariklaus's eyes widened at the revelation, his sources not having told him about her having any kind of antagonistic relations with the elder Salvatore brother. "Again?"

Natalie narrowed her eyes at him. "Yeah, remember? When I told you that he killed me and you said you should kill him and I said I already staked him and I later explained that it was when he tried to kill Caroline after she just turned and stuff." she shrugged nonchalantly.

Alariklaus did not expect that. "Wait, when did this happen again?"

Natalie quickly looked weirded out. "Are you suffering from amnesia or is it that easy to forget the day your daughter died and came back to life because of a magic ring?"

"No, just... it hasn't been the first thing on my mind with everything happening. But trust me, nothing bad is going to happen to you while I'm here." he reassured the seventeen year old.

"Thanks Dad. Love you." Natalie smiled at the man she believed to be her father before pushing herself off of his desk and walked out the door.

"I love you too." Alariklaus called after her, a smirk gracing his face as he was sure she could no longer see his face.

▹▹▹

Not long after the conversation between Alariklaus and Natalie, the huntress decided to meet up with her twin, the two went to eat lunch with Bonnie, who happened to be talking to her new boyfriend, AKA Jeremy.

"Hey, Jer. How you doing? Are you okay at the house alone with John?" Elena asked her little brother worriedly, her not having seen him for a few days as she's been staying with the Salvatores with Natalie.

"It's not ideal." Jeremy responded, getting up, his conversation with Bonnie clearly having upset him.

"Have you heard from Jenna?" Natalie asked, suddenly feeling guilty as she remembered her kind of aunt and the lies that she herself helped supply.

"It looks like she's staying on campus," Jeremy answered, before looking slightly awkward. "Look I'm...I'm late for class." he then quickly left without a simple goodbye.

Natalie and Elena looked surprised at his slightly cold attitude and sat down next to the Bennett witch. "Trouble in paradise?" Natalie asked.

"I told him he had to dress up tonight and he got all uptight." Bonnie answered, lying of course.

"Oh." Elena laughed.

Just then, a girl named Dana from Natalie and Elena's history class walked up to their table, holding big news. "Hey, Natalie, there you are. Okay. This is going to sound freaky, but this totally hot guy just asked me to ask you if you're going to the dance tonight."

"Tell him I don't go out with random dudes that sends girls to ask me out." Natalie answered casually.

Dana kept doing what she was told to do, no questions asked. "You could at least meet him. He'll be at the dance tonight. Look for him. His name is Klaus."

The three brunettes who were sitting by the table quickly realized just what name she said. "I'm sorry, what did you just say?" Elena asked, exchanging glances with the witch and the huntress.

"His name's Klaus," Dana repeated as if Elena was stupid. "I know the name's stupid, but I swear he's hot."

"Where is he? Is he here?" Bonnie asked worriedly, glancing around the room.

Dana's facial expression quickly grew confused. "I don't know."

"She's been compelled." Natalie informed the others, recognizing the far away look in the regular human's eyes.

"But he wants to know if you'll save him the last dance. How cute is that?"

▹▹▹

The Salvatore Boarding House

Of course, Elena ran and squealed to Stefan, who squealed to Damon, who called for a meeting with his brother, the girl he was in love with, his best friend and Bonnie. The five was currently trying to think of what the Mystic Falls gang was going to do about Klaus actually being able to reach Natalie and Elena so easily.

"So we go to the dance, we find him." Damon said as if it was the simplest thing in the whole wide world.

Stefan wasn't really happy with the simplicity of Damon's plan. "Really? How are we going to do that? We don't even know what he looks like."

"Something tells me he's not going to be sixteen and pimply." Damon retorted.

"He could be anywhere at any time. He compelled somebody at school," Stefan said, narrowing his eyes at his older brother before his gaze went to the three females in the room. "I guess it's not as safe as you guys thought, huh?"

Natalie responded with a mocking grimace to which Stefan gave her a blank look.

Then, someone who they wanted to appear but not really seeing that person wasn't really who they thought they were seeing as that body was currently occupied by the person that they least wanted to be around them. In case you didn't guess, it was Alariklaus

"Dad, you're finally here. I texted you, like, 30 minutes ago." Natalie said in relief, smiling at her 'father'.

"Sorry I'm late." Alariklaus apologized, though not sincerely.

"Hey, I need you to put me down as a chaperone at the dance tonight. Klaus made his first move." Damon told his second best friend, or at least who he thought was his second best friend.

But Elena wasn't really happy with the lack of explanation she got for their plan, even thought it was kinda obvious. "Okay, so we find him and then what, hmm? What's our plan of attack?"

"Me," Bonnie told her best friend, even though it was obvious with all the power she channeled from her ancestors. "I'm the plan. He has no idea how much power I can channel. If you can find him, I can kill him."

Alariklaus wasn't pleased to hear this, of course. "That's not going to be that easy. I mean, he is the biggest, baddest vampire around."

"Alaric has a point. I mean, what if he-" Damon cut himself off, rushing at Bonnie with his vampire speed before Bonnie threw him across the room, not even touching him.

"That was great! But can you do it again so I can film it?" Natalie asked the witch excitedly.

Bonnie ignored the other girl. "It doesn't matter if he's an Original. I can take down anyone who comes at me. I can kill him, Elena. I know I can."

▹▹▹

Mystic Falls High School

Unlike Bonnie, who was dressed as a hippy, Elena who was dressed as a twiggy and Caroline who was dressed as Jackie O, Natalie was wearing a black and white checkered dress as it was obvious that everyone needed to dress a way that was appropriate for the 60's fashion for a 60's decade dance.

"Thanks for being here, everybody. We have a special shout-out tonight," Dana said as she stood on top of the stage, a microphone in hand as she spoke to the students and adults alike. "This is for Natalie and Elena. From Klaus."

A song started playing, and that song happened to be one Natalie despised but she had to ignore that to focus on the conversation that was bound to happen between her, Elena, Stefan, Damon, Bonnie and Jeremy.

"That was a lame, cheap shot. He's just trying to bait us." Damon snapped, angry at the fact that Klaus could be able to deceive them so easily.

"I know everyone here." Elena said, confused of where Klaus might be.

"I know no one here. That's sad." Natalie sighed, scouring the room for a familar face since she couldn't really be much help with finding an unfamiliar face.

"Maybe he's not here. Just wants us to believe that he is." Stefan suggested, maybe more optimistically then realistically.

"It's a party, people. Blend. Let him come to us." Damon said, not having any other ideas.

Bonnie was able to drag Jeremy with her to the dance floor, Damon walked over to talk to Alariklaus and Elena was going to talk to Caroline about the possibility of Klaus being in the same room as them.

That left Stefan and Natalie.

Alone.

Stefan scoured the people around them, trying to find anyone he couldn't remember seeing before. But after a few seconds, he only found Damon glaring at him, making him frown in confusion.

The older Salvatore brother looked at him as if he was an idiot, waving his hands and moving his lips, making Stefan decide to listen in to what he was saying. "Dance with her. You have to dance with her."

His mouth opened as if he was finally understanding the mystical properties of dancing. He looked over at the shorter brunette next to him, who had done her best not to look at him because it would be awkward to stare at him when he didn't do it back.

But when Natalie felt his gaze on her, she finally turned and ran her teeth over her lip for a moment. She smiled shortly at him, not sure what she would say if she found a reason to speak.

Stefan chuckled for a moment. But he quickly held a hand out in front of himself, out to her. She smiled again as she saw it, slowly putting her hand in his.

The breath was knocked out of her as she spinned around until she hit his chest. At the laugh coming from her grinning lips, Stefan couldn't help but smile a bit.

He spinned her back out, keeping her laughing the entire time. He usually hated dancing, but with her, her laugh, her smile, her lack of ability to dance and everything else, it wasn't half bad.

▹▹▹

It wasn't much later that Stefan snuck away to meet Damon at some secret mission that Natalie had no idea what was so she followed them, of course, only to hear something immensely shocking.

"Please tell me you didn't know that Bonnie was on a suicide mission." Stefan pleaded with his brother, Natalie standing wide eyed behind the wall.

"What?" she exclaimed, the brothers' gazes turning to her at once as she walked out from behind the wall.

Damon groaned at her sudden appearance. "Oh, great. Jeremy told you and of course you told Elena and now Natalie knows."

"You said no more lies!" Natalie snapped, glaring at the eldest vampire.

"I changed my mind."

▹▹▹

Right after that short conversation, Natalie ran to find Bonnie, as she was not about to let her second best friend die for her or her sister, something she was sure Elena would agree with whole-heartedly.

But as she got there, Alariklaus happened to get there at the same time, planning to lure Bonnie into his little trap.

"He has Jeremy." Alariklaus lied, looking between the twins and the witch, knowing those words would have an affect on all of them.

"What?" "What?" "What?" All three of them said at completely different times.

"Yeah, Klaus has Jeremy. Come on." Alariklaus repeated, before running off, the girls following him just as he wanted.

They followed him deep into the school, none of them questioning where he was taking them, seeing as it was Alaric. If you can't trust Alaric, you can't trust anyone.

But Elena had just about enough of not knowing where they were going. "Okay, so where are you taking us?"

"Just a little further." Alariklaus assured the doppelganger.

"Something's not right here." Natalie said, stopping, making the others follow her lead, knowing that survival would always be a little bit harder without Natalie as their back-up.

"Where's Jeremy?" Bonnie frowned, not seeing the Gilbert boy anywhere.

Unexpectedly, Alariklaus started laughing. He actually laughed at their lack of understanding that it was a trap. "I just had to get away from that dance. The sixties, ugh. Not my decade.I mean, whose call was that, anyway? I much prefer the twenties. The style, the parties, the jazz."

"Alaric, are you on vervain?" Elena asked the male.

Alariklaus was very amused at Elena's lack of ability of putting two and two together. "Now why would you ask me that question, Elena?"

"You're not my dad, are you?" Natalie asked, Alariklaus turning to her in confusion about how she figured it out since her other friends weren't able to. "When you're compelled, it's not like your whole personality changes. And the way you acted in history class... you're Klaus!"

Alariklaus smiled at the brunette who was all too familiar for him. "Lovely to see you again, Natalia."

"Again?" Natalie frowned, not breaking eye-contact with him for a second.

"Your lack of knowledge on the subject is almost amusing," Alariklaus smirked, before the expression became much more serious. "Almost."

"Oh, no. No, it's not possible." Elena shook her head in disbelief, Klaus couldn't be in Alaric's body. He just couldn't.

"Just relax, Elena. I'm not here to hurt you. And definitely not your sister. You're not on my hit list tonight," Alariklaus assured the doppelganger, but then he turned to Bonnie with a sinister smirk. "But you are."

Alariklaus took a step forwards, only for Bonnie to throw him into a wall with her witchy powers without even saying some kind of spell. But before he came here, Klaus had a witch put a spell on Alaric's body to keep it more durable.

"Now, did I mention that I knew a witch? You're gonna have to hit me a lot harder than that." Alariklaus smirked.

And Bonnie did. She used her powers which was granted upon her and used it to throw him into a display case (honestly, Natalie was wondering who was going to pay for that) and smashed the glass with Alaric's body. But it didn't hurt him in the slightest. He just simply laughed.

"By all means...Fire away! If you kill this body, I'll just get a new one. Maybe Jeremy." Alariklaus threatened, getting up from the floor.

And as the name of her boyfriend passed the lips of an evil villain, Bonnie sprung to life once again. "Go. Run. Run!"

And Natalie and Elena started running, and Bonnie wasn't far behind.

▹▹▹

As the three brunettes ran from Klaus, they bumped into another centuries old vampire, AKA Damon who looked between the three girls, panic being evident on all their faces. "What happened?"

"Klaus is in Alaric's body." Elena explained hurriedly.

"What?" Damon asked, eyes wide as he had no idea what it might mean, but at the same time he knew exactly what Elena meant.

"He's possessing it or something." Natalie elaborated as shortly as she could, glancing behind her shoulder at the fear of Klaus not being far behind.

Damon turned to look at both Elena and Natalie, as he needed to talk to Bonnie in private for the plan to start. "Go find Stefan. Now."

"Okay." Elena nodded quickly, although not moving an inch.

"Now." Damon commanded sternly.

The twins then sprinted to find the younger Salvatore. But not knowing that it would end in the death of one of their best friends.

▹▹▹

It didn't take long for the twins to locate the younger Salvatore, seeing as he was looking for them as they were looking for him. And then they quickly explained to him what was happening, and Stefan was definitely more worried for Natalie then Elena. Maybe it's because she just lost one of the people who raised her and she shouldn't lose another one so quickly after, or maybe it was because they had no idea what Klaus wanted from her, and that was even worse then knowing what was going to happen to her if they didn't succeed. Anything could happen.

But they were running through the school, trying to locate Bonnie and Damon, but once they finally did find one of them, the other one was missing.

"What are you doing? Where's Bonnie?" Elena asked desperately, her worry for her best friend being the only thing on her mind.

"She's doing what she has to do." Damon answered vaguely.

"What?" "Where is she?" and "Please tell me you didn't send her on a suicide mission." were all phrases coming from Elena, Stefan and Natalie's mouths.

"Stefan, let her do this." Damon said without any emotion showing in his tone of voice.

"Damn it, Damon, where is she?!"

▹▹▹

Stefan, Natalie and Elena was able to get through Damon. But they were too late. By the time they reached the cafeteria, Bonnie and Alariklaus were fighting for their lives. And Bonnie did notice their coming there, and she magically locked the door, draining her of more power that she could have used against Alariklaus, who currently had no supernaturally enhanced abilities.

"Bonnie, no!" Elena screamed, tears in her eyes as Stefan tried to get the door open. But it was no use.

Natalie stared at the witch, who had blood running from her nose, and the huntress's eyesight was clouded from the tears in her eyes at the realization that one of the greatest people in her life was probably going to die. Her hand went up to cover her mouth, muffling a scream that wanted to come out.

And as that happened, light began bursting, sending sparks down from them as they were raining down, around the fight that was going on. Bonnie turned to the Gilbert twins with a reassuring smile as Klaus got up. But, sadly enough, that was the moment her body couldn't take it anymore, and she twisted and turned before falling to the ground. Dead.

The door finally opened, as the person who cast the spell to keep it closed was now dead, and she was unable to keep it up anymore. Alariklaus escaped, none of them seeing him anymore.

"No! Oh! Bonnie! Bonnie, Bonnie! Bonnie! Hey, hey. Stefan, she's not breathing! Stefan! Stefan, I can't find her pulse! Stefan! Do something, please! Stefan, please! Just give her blood, do something, please!" Elena pleaded, sobbing her heart out at the fact that her best friend is dead.

Natalie fought her own sadness, knowing that Elena was there for her when Isobel died (again) so she had to be there for Elena now in the same way that it was the other way around, so Natalie wrapped her arms around the other brunette, who sobbed into her dress.

"It's too late. I'm sorry." Stefan said sadly, looking at the two crying girls apologetically.

"No! No. No, no, no, no, no! Bonnie! Bonnie, please, no! No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!" Elena sobbed, Natalie holding her tightly as she let her sister grip onto her for comfort.

Then the one who encouraged it all walked through the door. Damon was there. "Stefan, get Elena and Natalie out of here. I'll deal with the body."

"What do you mean, deal with it?" Natalie asked, stroking Elena's hair, the older twin seemingly unable to form real words.

"The sheriff can't know about this. Last thing we need's another mysterious death." Damon responded insensitively.

"This is Bonnie!" Elena was finally able to yell at Damon.

"Get them home. Now. So I can clean this up." Damon commanded his younger brother.

And after a lot of resistance, he was able to drag the sisters to the Salvatore boarding house.

▹▹▹

The Salvatore Boarding House

Damon was an idiot.

That was all Natalie had to say about the vampire at the moment. Probably because after she shut herself into Stefan's room (and he let her by the way) she got a text from Damon saying BonBon dead jk, she witchy she live.

He was a goddamn idiot.

But Natalie might kind of be an idiot too. That idiocy that led her for a quest for answers. Answers she could only get from two people. Klaus and Elijah.

And Klaus was kind of evil, even more so then Elijah.

And what Natalie chose became obvious as she pulled a dagger out of the chest of a suit-wearing original vampire with great hair.

A/N: When you update so much as I've done lately, five days without updating starts to feel like five months without updating but, oh well.

I'm really happy with this chapter actually, and it's the longest I've ever written (at about 5400 words) which is amazing. And I'm really excited for next chapter when you'll learn more about the Natalie/Natalia and the originals thing.

Votes and comments are greatly appreciated.
