Crying Wolf
CHAPTER 28: CRYING WOLF
Forbes House
The next morning, somehow Caroline, Elena, Bonnie and Natalie all fit into Caroline's bed, although some of them may wake up with feet by their face (meaning Bonnie). And one of them (meaning Elena) may have woken up on the floor as her phone rang. The other girls groaned at the sound.
"Go away!" Caroline complained.
"Throw it in the toilet!" Natalie demanded as she groaned and lifted her arm, accidentally hitting Caroline's face.
"Ow!" Caroline complained as she threw Natalie's hand of With her superior strenght.
"Love you too, Care." Natalie muttered as she opened her eyes fully.
"Shut up and let me sleep." Bonnie simply said.

The Mystic Grill
After Elena announced that she was leaving for the weekend to the Gilbert family lakehouse With Stefan she told the other girls that if they weren't up in the next five minutes she'd set fire to all their clothes. And the best friend of the year award goes to... But in all seriousness, the three girls who were left decided that it was time to get answers from the warlock Luka Martin (who weirdly enough had the same last name as Natalie's old best friend) so they had decided that they had to discuss what they were going to do.
"Okay. So tell us about this big, witchy plan you've been cooking up." Caroline demanded as she looked at the Bennett witch.
"We still don't know the extent of what Elijah's up to." Bonnie started but was cut off by Natalie.
"No, we don't." she agreed, nodding along with Bonnie's words.
Bonnie gave the other brunette a look as she continued. "So, I'm gonna ask Luka to tell me what he knows."
"And he's not going to tell you anything." Natalie said in the same tone of voice as she used previously and nodding with.
"I didn't say he was gonna have a choice." Bonnie smirked at the huntress, who raised her eyebrows in acknowledgement.
But then the two realized how uncharacteristically quiet Caroline had been and turned to the blonde who was staring at something absentmindedly. Bonnie and Natalie both turned around to see what she was staring at and it was her ex-boyfriend, the ever so amazing Matt Donovan who walked past the girls with a stony facial expression.
"What was that about?" Natalie asked, as she thought that the two had reconciled.
"Uh, I don't know. I thought that we were...I don't know." Caroline shook her head sadly as she looked down at the ground.

And whilst Caroline and Matt had an incredibly awkward conversation, Bonnie was talking to Luka to get out whatever she wanted from him, and it may have had some flirting involved. Something that one of the people who walked into the Grill didn't enjoy.
"Hey. How's it going?" Jeremy greeted as he sat down next to Natalie.
"Now what are you doing here, Jer?" Natalie asked her cousin/brother as she rested her chin in her hands.
"Bonnie called. I wanted to help," Jeremy explained shortly. "How's it going?"
The two looked over at the flirting pair (although Bonnie was doing it just for show) and as Jeremy looked at them jealously (something Natalie noticed amusedly) and she was trying to suppress the laughs at the obviousness of how he was feeling.
So she decided to tease him a bit.
"She's selling it and he's buying it. She's totally giving him the sex smile." Natalie teased him without showing it.
And she got just the reaction she was aiming for. "Alright, Natalie, I get it." he said jealously.
Natalie wanted to laugh so bad.

The Forbes House
Bonnie's genius plan included her drugging Luka and Jeremy dragging him out of the grill, which made it miraculous that no one noticed. Natalie and Caroline soon saw what happened and the blonde offered the two the opportunity of doing whatever they needed back at her house as her mother wouldn't be home in a while. Natalie just tagged along because she wanted to tease Jeremy.
Caroline walked in with some candles as Bonnie, Jeremy and Natalie sat on the ground, around Luka. "We only have, like, an hour or two before my mom gets home, and these are all I could find."
She gave Jeremy a good amount of the candles before handing the rest over to Bonnie.
"Place these evenly around the room." Bonnie commanded Jeremy and he did what he told her, and placed them around the room.
"How does this even work?" Natalie asked the witch.
"Um, I'll put him in a trance and ask him questions. It's like hypnosis." Bonnie explained to the other brunette.
"You sure you're strong enough for this?" Jeremy broke into the conversation as his worry for the Bennett witch grew as he knew that if she used to much it wouldn't go well for her, and she hasn't had as much practise as most witches and he basically worried that it wouldn't work and Luka would bash their heads in with his superior practise of magic.
Bonnie gave the younger boy an annoyed look at his obvious doubt. "That's what the candles are for. I'll draw power from the flames."
"I'll get the matches." Caroline offered.
But as soon she was about to leave the room, Bonnie stopped her. "I got it."
And a second later, the candles were lit and Caroline, Natalie and Jeremy all exchanged impressed smiles.
"Never gonna get used to that." Jeremy stated in amazement.
And teasing Natalie was back in action as she smirked at his reaction. "Oh, come on. That's pretty hot, and you know it."
Jeremy turned to her with a large smile at the truth that he felt that the words held for him, as he found everything Bonnie did extremely hot.
Bonnie, on the other hand, wasn't so pleased. She gave Natalie an incredulous look before turning to Jeremy. "I need a bowl of water."
Jeremy quickly took the hint. "Yeah, yeah. I'll- I'll go get it."
As soon as he was out of the room, Bonnie turned to Natalie with wide eyes, Caroline was staring out at the air in shock as she was wondering how she never put two and two together and realized in what way Jeremy Gilbert liked Bonnie Bennett.
"Okay. What was that? "It's hot"?" Bonnie asked the brunette incredulously.
"That was me expressing my knowledge on the fact that Jeremy is totally crushing on you." Natalie commented nonchalantly.
"So?" Bonnie asked, being a little too bitchy in Natalie's opinon.
Caroline then got over the shock and realization and sat down on the floor next to the brunettes. "So... What, you'd rather be with traitor warlock over here?" she asked, reffering to Luka who was still passed out.
Bonnie almost looked offended for a moment by Caroline's words. "I'm not into Luka. It's just, you know, he understood me, and he was new and different."
"And you've known Jeremy since forever, and you only see him one way, as Elena's brother and now maybe as Natalie's cousin slash brother thingy, but you're a witch, Natalie's a hunter, and I'm a vampire. You know, it's not like we're in any position-" "To be picky." Bonnie cut Caroline off.
Natalie and Caroline soon started laughing at Bonnie's misinterpretation. "No, to judge. We can still be picky." Natalie corrected.
The three Girls smiled at each other for a moment and Bonnie may have had a slight change of heart.
And the person that change of heart revolved around soon walked into the room holding a bowl of water as Bonnie requested and Bonnie gave him a heartwarming (if not flirty) smile as she took the bowl out of his hands and placed it on the floor, right by Luka's head.
And then Luka's eyes began to flutter, and Jeremy was the first one who noticed.
"Looks like he's waking up." he commented sourly, expressing his dislike for the other male.
No one answered and Bonnie dipped her fingers into the water, then put her fingers on each side of Luka's head her witchiness coming out as she performed a non-verbal spell which was seen to be working at the change of the flame's size and the change of Luka's breathing pattern.
"How long is this going to take?" Caroline asked curiously as she looked at the witch, expecting an answer.
"I don't know. He's fighting me." Bonnie muttered annoyedly.
And he did. He was wriggling on the ground uncomfortably as he fought Bonnie's spell, but after being weakened he couldn't. "Please stop. Please."
But only seconds later, Bonnie closed her eyes and Luka followed suit, showing that he was in the intended trance.
"There. All right," Bonnie confirmed that she was successfull before starting to ask questions. "Why are you working with Elijah?"
"Klaus. We both want him dead." Luka answered monotonously.
Bonnie frowned at the reveal. "You want to kill Klaus too. Why?"
"Because he has her and we have to get her away from him."
"Who- who are you talking about?" Bonnie asked once again.
"My sister." Luka revealed sadly, emotion shining through his trance.
"His sister?" Natalie whispered sympathetically as she stared down at the dark skinned male.
"Why does he have her?" Bonnie kept asking, ignoring the sad thing that Luka revealed.
Luka had no choice but to answer. "He's searching for a way to undo the curse without the doppelgänger. He's forced generations of witches to help him for centuries."
"What has Elijah promised you?"
"If we help Elijah kill Klaus, he's promised to return her to us."
"And how do you kill Klaus? How do you kill an Original vampire?"
And that was the question that made Luka's need to fight grow stronger as he started wriggling on the floor almost angrily as he tried to resist Bonnie's spell. "He'll kill me if I tell you. Don't make me."
Jeremy, although disliking Luka, didn't want to see him like that anymore and decided that it was time to confront Bonnie about what she was doing, and hopefully stop her. "It's okay, Bonnie. We can find another way."
"No," Bonnie said sternly, her determination growing as she was able to put Luka back in the trance and asked him once again the same question. "How will you kill Klaus?"
And this time, Luka had no choice but to answer. "After the sacrifice, Klaus will be vulnerable, weak. It's our only chance."
The room was completely quiet for a moment as everyone took in what Luka just said, what it meant.
"After the sacrifice?" Caroline was the first one to speak up.
"What do you mean, after?" Bonnie hissed at the boy who was in a trance.
"Klaus will be vulnerable." Luka repeated.
"But Elena will be dead." Bonnie protested against the facts.
"Yes. Elena has to die."

The Salvatore Boarding House
Natalie was done with hearing Elena's death sentence and decided that it was time to see Damon, and probably tell him that the girl he was in love with was going to die. She didn't know how. She couldn't really say "I just found out that Elena has to die even if we kill Klaus. Wanna go bowling?" Yeah, she couldn'y say that.
But when she finally reached the boarding house, she heard some disturbing noises known as moans that certainly wasn't from pleasure and the Heavy footsteps of men walking around in the parlor. Her ears eagerly picked up the sounds they could and she recognized what they were saying as talk about the moonstone. She didn't have it, but she needed some way to save Damon (again) and luckily Natalie never left home without a weapon (something not appreciated by the airport security) and this time she brought a solid chain whip which she had in her bag and she quietly took out and placed it in her hands in a way that would help her save the day (again).
"Get over it, honey. You're never gonna get it." she heard Damon groan, and she decided that it was now or never.
"He's right, you know. It's hidden a place where you will never find it." Natalie smirked as she twirled the chain whip around.
The werewolves that stood around Damon (who had a weird torture device around his neck) turned to look at the brunette huntress who was just standing there smugly.
"Go on then, attack me." Natalie riled them up.
And they followed her command.
One of the werewolves used his supernaturally enhanced speed to run towards Natalie, who just wrapped it around his neck in a swift move and with the strenght of the material the chain whip was made of, she was able to snap his neck (quite easily might I add).
Two other werewolves were suddenly very angry at the loss of their friend/pack member and ran at Natalie simultaneously as they were sure that she couldn't take on both of them at the same time.
They were wrong.
As one got his leg snapped first, Natalie punched the other one in his stomach before wrapping it around his neck and killing him. Then she did the same thing with the other one.
She didn't notice Jules fleeing however as she was busy with the attack of another werewolf named Stevie. She tried to punch him in the face, but he was obviously stronger and more strategic as he noticed how she fought the others as he was determined to not only survive, but also avenge his friends so he grabbed her wrist before she was able to, and slammed her against his chest, about to wrap his arm around her neck and suffocate her but she elbowed him in his stomach before using the chain to snap his neck like she did with the others.
Damon was looking up at her, looking very impressed.
"I know, I'm badass. Let's get you out of this... thing."
▹▹▹
"So he planned to kill her all along." Damon concluded as he finished listening to Natalie's explanation of what was going on and what they got out of their interrogation with Luka.
"Yep, Elijah lied. The sacrifice was a part of his plan." Natalie added.
"Got it loud and clear." Damon commented annoyedly.
Natalie was about to answer with some sassy remark when they heard a gasp from the other side of the room, where a previously dead Alaric was.
He was confused when he saw Natalie who was holding one of her weapons, and Damon, who still had traces of blood on his shirt.
"Finally. You missed all the fun."

A/N: Yay! A medium lenght chapter where Jeremy finally appeared because I have no idea why Natalie hasn't been talking to him lately. It's like he doesn't even exist. But now he's back! And he will probably be more involved with Natalie's life from now on because I love Jeremy and I want him to have more scenes with Natalie.
And no Statalie this chapter, which I'm sorry about but he was at the lakehouse with Elena the whole episode so there wasn't really anything I could do about that. But I'll try to make it up to you next chapter because Natalie will finally officially meet Elijah.
Votes and comments are greatly appreciated.
