Styrofoam Aquarium
She kept a styrofoam box
In the corner
Opened it up in the morning
After school
And before bedtime
She scattered food flakes
For the tiny orange fish to eat
The bit of company
Her house could fit
Asides from hoarded clutter
Kept together
By the narrow walls that reached up
Making more space for the inside til
Half the sky was taken
By man-made creations
All squished together
In a big small city
With so many roads that connect
As they close off the rest of the world.
Inspired by my trip to Vietnam some time ago.
