The eerie dreams

We had taken rest and started our journey back and according to the Beta Geordan, we will reach the pack in few minutes. As we go more forward, the forest gets thinner and thinner and I could see the roofs of houses being clear and clear.

I could feel myself getting nervous with every step I was taking closer to the town. I looked around at my townspeople. Some had smiles on their faces while some were observing the surroundings, especially kids.

And then we saw the guards standing outside the pack boundaries. Beta Geordan went towards the guard who immediately, seeing their beta, bowed down. He speaks and points his forefinger towards us. After listening, they immediately nod their head and move aside to let us enter.

"Rest of the people have already reached and settled down. I will show you your houses and you can meet the townspeople and the Alpha tomorrow." Beta Geordan shouts. We again nod our head and he tells one by one everyone where their hut is.

Soon it is our chance and Francesca hides behind me immediately, her back touching mine and her face facing my opposite direction.

"You and your sister should go in that direction and you will find your name mentioned on one wooden board." He says, pointing in the east direction. I quickly nod my head and walk with Francesca behind me.

"Wait!" Oh no! I spin around, my sister again going behind me.

"No, no!" Francesca mutters.

"Why is your sister hiding her face?" He asks, his eyes narrowing at us.

What should I say?!!!

"Tell him I'm shy." Francesca whispers

"She is shy!" I quickly say to him. My face and hands were already sweaty. My heartbeat increasing every second.

He stares at us for a few minutes and then leaves. I exhale a sigh of relief when he walks away, though I think he still doubts us.

"You can't even lie!?" My sister and my eyes widen at her accusation.

"Hey! I was in shock!" I exclaim. She scoffs at hearing my answer, and we walk to the house assigned to us.

The house was wooden, brown, and I turn the knob and enter. Someone already furnished it with a couch in the middle and it gave a cozy feeling once we entered. The entire house had light brown paint inside, and I could smell the odor of the freshly painted walls. There was a staircase and after climbing it we had two rooms up there. In the hall, we just have a living room, kitchen, and washroom.

"This is like our dream house," Francesca mutters, walking behind me and in awe of the house. Even though I don't want to agree, she was right. It was everything we imagined and wanted.

It was already night by the time we had done and settled inside the house. We both were not hungry, so we skipped dinner and directly went to bed. I make sure that all the windows are closed and the door is locked. I finally then climb up to my room and sleep.

I wake up from my dream. My face being wet with sweat, my hair was sticking to the forehead. Those eerie sounds in my dream terrified me to the core.

What was it supposed to mean? I didn't understand it a bit.

It is not even twenty-four hours in this new town, and I am already having nightmares here. My mind was restless. But tomorrow is going to be a busy day. So I try to ignore that and allow sleep to take over. Hoping that I won't hear those voices again, I doze off.
