Eyes clashing

Our eyes clashed even in this crowd. I couldn't see his eye color because we were a bit far away.

I didn't know what to do but I felt captivated and held by his eyes. I couldn't just look away. Something told me he might be my mate, I couldn't just trust that baseless and stupid thought. I somehow remove my eyes and focus on the wolves. From every area, we are surrounded by his wolves.

"CELINE! CELINE!" I hear someone shouting my name. I turn around and see that it is Francesca. I run towards her and hug her tightly. Fear and nervousness are all I could feel at the moment. I gripped Francesca hard, not wanting to let her go.

"Shh... I'm here... Nothing will happen...We will all be safe." she consoles me and some of my fear disappears.

"PEOPLE OF GRADEA, I'M ALPHA DRAKE AND I AM HERE TO TAKE YOUR LAND. WE DO NOT NEED BLOODSHED. WE CAN SILENTLY LET EVERYTHING HAPPEN AND YOU WILL BE UNHARMED!" The leader, Alpha Drake shouted. His words were not consoling nor considerate.

What will happen if someone disagrees? Will we be harmed then?

I could still imagine a war taking place and that scared me way too much.

I didn't want this beautiful town to be in the hands of such a guy but I can't do anything. Gradea is not the huts and shops but instead, it's these people that make this piece of land call Gradea. Harming them means as much as putting fire on the whole town.

The only one who could speak is our Alpha and Beta but they are nowhere to be found. By now they must have been here.

Where are they?! We need them!

Soon a werewolf comes near Alpha Drake and whispers something to his right ear. Alpha Drake smirks after he finishes.

"People, Are you still waiting for that worthless Alpha and Beta to come and save you?! Then let me free you from your worries. Your coward Alpha and his so-called Beta have escaped leaving you all to our mercy!" he says having a cruel smirk.

I could feel the dread and anger coursing through my body as the news settled in my head.

"They left! What do you mean by they left!?" My sister asks her eyes wide and frantically looking at others.

Soon he moves his index finger toward our direction and all the wolves come at once and we all run away.

Me and my sister run as fast as possible and we come into a small forest and we hide there for how long I have no clue.

Soon after hours when the darkness blankets the sky we come back to the town to see it in ruins. The roofs were broken, it was a mess.

The peaceful town this morning was like a forbidden place now. People were crying.

The whole town was destroyed because of him.

We had nothing now. Nowhere to live and nothing to eat. Nothing.

Alpha and Beta were still missing.

I can't understand why would they do that! Everyone respected them both. No one dared to go against and we all followed them and still!

I am furious at them. If I had them now I would have choked them to death.

Men were building shelters for tonight as staying outside was not safe. Rogues could be anywhere. Women were trying to find food as much as possible. The destruction they had done was unbelievable for a pack of wolves to do.

At last, we somehow found a bit of food. Mothers gave their food to their children.

Francesca was boiling beside me in rage. I tried my best to calm her, I don't think it was working.

I slept in one of the tent and a part of the roof was torn. I slept staring at the night sky, stars shining and a single thought lingering in my mind.

He could never be my mate.
