Chapter 6: Awakening
After taking a shower, he headed to the golden center of campus surrounded by 12 centers each with the golden center of the campus, overhearing it as the Sun of Awakening. He nodded, nice name. On the line, he charted down the list of thoughts in his mind.
Why were my parents killed?
What did they and I do to garner this much hatred?
Fake heir-need more info.
What's my powers/birthday?
Who are my guiding stars?
What else to do to earn Starlight?
More people exited the center, showcasing small bursts of fire, water, wind, and earth from their hands. There, he entered the camp for his turn, meeting a human with cat features and widely shaped eyes in similar garbs to the principal, Professor Alsci Lyncis.
"I'm guessing you can see what constellation, zodiac, and powers that I have?"
"Wise analysis, young Lord. Those inheriting the Lynx have that capability," touching his hand. Shemar's body glowed, gaining a red aura around his body.
"Sagittarius, fire. But your constellation," peering deeper, "but," his body changed to glowing blue, "no, Capricorn?"
I have two elements? Shemar noticed his body glowing green, then white: enough experience to teach him that was associated with earth and wind respectively.
All four? He closed his eyes, seeing the stars forming a constellation, but couldn't make it out as the same energy from before was about to emit.
"Stand back! Come on," sweating and clenching every part of his body, "control it!"
He imagined focusing the power behind him to not harm the staff, blowing several students away from behind the tent, thankfully just a strong wind to them.
"Oh crud."
"Eventually your constellation powers will develop. Still it is rare to have someone, even an heir to have four elements."
"What's the criteria? One's based on your zodiac sign, can people have more than one?"
"There are people born as cusps, different days between the zodiac. Certain constellations have an affinity for certain elements. And your tising and moon signs can be different elements too."
"So if someone was born between two different zodiacs, has a unique constellation, or other signs different from their sun sign, they can make a super child. Don't tell me, have people attempted that?"
"Well the ethics of that are questionable but there have been cases over the years. For now, I would suggest taking the general course or applying as a fire or water major."
He gulped. "That means I'm with Xia or Taylor. Uh, is it possible I could apply for earth and air as well?"
"You would have to decide by sophomore year, but I see no reason to not test which one you garner an affinity for. Head towards the auditorium with the other first years."
"Thanks," leaving. For now I better keep this to myself, guess I'm a fire major. Maybe this was the reason why people were trying to murder my parents and I?
Growing uncomfortable inspecting his every movement as if he were an endangered species, they spoke loud enough he could hear their curiosity, and fear of his power set.
Don't act all demon king yet, going for an amicable smile and wave that only had people flinching and stepping back. Birth dad, mom, if there's spirit magic in this world to get me to speak to you, we need to talk.
He could feel his palm getting warmer. The thought of having magic and meta human abilities was a pipe dream for him and Flint. If only they could be here together, he sighed.
The Aquarius auditorium, one of the twelve buildings around the center displayed a high number of bodies reminiscent of the college videos he was sent to watch.
Before he could question being at a college where every student had powers and more intelligence than he could, rumbling under Shemar's legs forced the ground underneath him to move.
Students stepped away from the path that dragged him until he stopped in front of Ainsley.
"Principal was waiting for you," sliding him alongside them and the other heirs. "Come with us."
The quartet walked to the stage for some time until everyone was settled in. Several individuals in less regal, yet similar attire to Principal Lumin, the last to join them on stage.
"We are pleased to have all freshmen of Celestial Academy on our campus! All of you are the next generation of fae heralds, housing the eighty eight warriors that provided our world with guardians against the Voids!"
All the constellations weren't just myths and stars in this world? That was the Great War?
"And furthermore, we have not just the elite, the Divine Heirs, but the lost prince of the Obsidian King, Sehki Shakuheld!"
That announcement commended Shemar's bombardment of pictures, some of which he noticed didn't even have actual cameras.
"And according to our own Head of Astrology, he also houses a rare ability few fae could ever achieve!"
Crap, rushing over.
"He's the first fae in years to have manifested all-"
Shemar swiped the microphone. "All forms of languages," sweating. Good morning. Buenos Dias. Ohayou Gozaimasu. Bonjour," only for gasps and conversations to amass.
"You know the lost languages?"
"Uhh, yesssss, barely, kinda?" Too much questions I need to answer. Okay, move on. "Either way, if I may speak," earning a nod from the Principal.
"I am not my parents. I understand they've have flaws in my youth, and my absence has been one of contention, trying to fly through his crowd appeal with a boost from his english courses. "But, I'm here to mend fences and not just make amends, but," gesturing to the heirs, "work with my fellow heirs to ensure Terra's has a quintet of worthy rulers, but to maintain peace rather than conflict."
He took a deep breath, noticing the silence which dashed his hopes that worked.
From the crowd, a noise caught his eyes to search for the person clapping, Calypsa. Soon, everyone else around her started as she increased the tempo, eventually spreading through the Atrium.
None of the Heirs looked pleased at the slightest as the Principal took the microphone back.
"Thank you for that marvelous speech Prince Sehki. Now, please, everyone exit, you should receive your schedules. Now, let the first day of Celestial University begin!"
