Chapter 10: Choose Your Fate, Fae, or Frat
"Whoa," about to roll over from being stomped.
"Please relax, young Prince!"
Okay, time to play fear, cocking up his throat. "Step back or face the wrath of the demon king!"
A feminine scream and the shadow of the person backed away from him as he heard a large thud on the floor. He leaned over to see a four legged beast picking up her glasses with a brown bud for hair and wearing a doctor's coat.
"I am so sorry! My um, place of vacation didn't have talking four legged creatures."
He tried helping her up but winched from the pain in his leg.
"Don't worry," gleefully rising up, with medical equipment across her hooves. "I'm just about done," lightly lowering her limbs to inject him, massage, and painfully remodel the outside of his legs. After a few minutes of wishing for death, he found his leg able and mobile.
"What did you do?"
"Our kingdom works well with agriculture. Usually we'd used the cures to have your Zodiac powers heal you, but the effects for Sagittarius only had a temporary solution. You're pretty fragile for a fae."
"My powers never fully kicked in. Can my physical abilities build up with more training?"
"Yeah, basic hour long exercises a day can help a lot. In a few minutes you'll be as strong as normal. Still, those burns inflicted,"
"It was from the course."
She shook her head. "No, those flames weren't part of the course."
She showed him a monitor of the events, claiming health professors on campus had access in emergency cases, zooming in. The flames that hit him were sped up more than usual.
"Wait, was that from the professor or," raising his head. "Xia! They're really trying to kill me?"
"Ainsley said you were all friends at one point."
"You two are close?"
"I, uh," sweating, "worked well with their family," twiddling her thumbs. "Their recommendation allowed me to be here after the last head physician quit."
"Why are they such massive douches?"
"Please don't fight. You've all been under such pressure since you were kids."
"We were? My memory's a little foggy."
"Their parents and the divine four agreed after the incident at your castle that they needed to start training the heirs at a younger age. You're going to be the generation that puts an end to the Voids after all," adjusting her glasses.
"But," looking back, "it took them some effort to just beat one of them. How many of them are there?"
"We don't know, but sometimes it feels like the threat is endless."
"That's way too much pressure to put on all four or five of us!" Explains the attitude. "Sigh, this is too much stress."
She came super close up to him. "Ahh, your phallus is sensitive to stress too," pointing to his erection, as he realized his head was hurting. "It's okay, mine is the same," getting him to see her own phallus from her pants scrubs. "And the semester just started too," rambling about all the potential injuries and paperwork she had to deal with.
"Well I'll leave you to it, Doctor, um."
"Bethany Chiron. Call me Beth for short. Before you go, please do me a favor, Prince Sehki.," bowing to him.
"Sure?"
"They can be rough around the edges, but deep down the other heirs aren't that bad. They just need more real life experience. I hope you can all get along like you used to."
She really wants me to befriend these feces pieces? Well she healed my leg. "I'll think about it. Oh crud, I have my Selective Major course."
"As an heir to the throne, you don't have to worry about that. Your parents already taught you-oh, OH MY STARS I AM SO-"
"It's okay," sighing, seeing how many hours have passed. "I'll look up a guide or something. Anything interesting happening tonight?"
"I believe everyone's picking which fraternities to enter. You'll be entering the House of Prometheus?"
"I think I'd rather go with Gaia for now until my house is repaired."
"Great, tell Ainsley I said they can come over anytime."
More thoughts plagued his mind as he ventured out the health center and the outskirts of all of the education centers as fellow students set out to the other four houses, already regretting the sight of their "initiation," rushing to House Poseidon.
"Alright recruits, you've gotta hold it for one more minute," Taylor yelled as Sehki had a close view of their heads trapped in prisons of water, forced to hold it. He could hear some of them choking, bleeding, while the ones who were done were coughing out the water.
"You've got to be kidding me," emitting the heat from his arms to burn away the water, one of whom pushed him aside.
"Stop! I'm going to get into Taylor's Inner Circle!"
From his view, Taylor already had his choices, three young women around their age apathetic to the others. One with a briefcase and barely any water on her skin caught his eye.
To the south, he spotted Xia, Vana, and Vital raining down fire bullets at people forced to run and dodge from their attacks for what looked like the same amount of time.
To the east, Rigal was forcing his recruits to climb through hoops strings along balloons, running on floating gym equipment, while others were being trapped within a small tornado, trying to break free.
To the north, Ainsley seemed to be the most normal, drawing in front of the mud swamps to their audience using sculptures. As Sehki got closer, Ainsley weaved their hand: lifting another student out of the mud, unveiling humans under their muse, and dragging people until the ground to turn them into their future models.
"I was friends with these people? What the actual hell?"
He backed up against the sheer insanity, preferring to live in the abandoned dorm until backing up into someone.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Calypsa?"
She winked. "In the flesh! Torn on which one to join?"
"Choosing not to pick any. Is there a way I can get mine renovated?"
"There is. Let's make a deal. I'll help you do that, you join me in House Prometheus. Fair?"
His hand shook at the thought of living under Xia's control. Still, it was a temporary solution.
He shook her hand. "Deal."
