Chapter 7: Great escape
We sat in silence. The darkness in the room acting as a mirror for our despair.
Blood, a deadly red, running down our skin beside it's reddish-brown counterpart that had choices to cling to our arms, legs, and any other exposed part of our bodies that the Miyaco had decided to slice us.
Alongside this our bodies were beaten black and blue almost daily.
At first Leo had the strength to glare at the cameras directed at us and growl at his family not to give anything up for his freedom. He used to promise us, when our torturers left the room, that he would find a way to get us out of here. But here we were. Four years later and Leo could barely open his mouth to let out anything but a roar of agony whilst they whipped, sliced, and beat him.
Over our time here, they had moved us to sit in wooden chairs, chaining us up to the arms and legs. They used these chains as another way to torture us as they would heat up the chains and scorch our skin with the hot metal.
Four years and we were filled with despair.
The key word being 'were'.
After one day of them burning the metal chains to torture us, they had left the room, and with the loud slam of the door the chains fell to the ground.
After every time they had heated up the chains, we would wriggle our wrists in them to get them to expand, after all these years it had gotten to the point where a little wriggle could get them off of our hands and feet.
"We...ne...t...go" Leo croaked.
He'd gotten the worst torture out of all of us, but he was still the first to speak, and offered Aqua a hand in walking. Which she refused and helped him instead of the other way around.
Ryan limped over to the door and pushed it open slowly, trying not to make any sound. If I wasn't beside him the sound of the door slamming shut would have echoed throughout the hallway as Ryan recoiled from the bright lights.
"Come on!" I whisper-shouted.
We crept around the door and to the corner of the hallway.
'For the Miyaco they sure are short on staff' I thought to myself.
We quietly limped to the end of the corridors and took the stairs up.
As we opened the door at the top of the stairs, we peaked around the corner to see a guard dressed in black.
He was at the end of the hallway.
We watched him make it to one and of the hallway and then turn around to put direction and walk back out way.
He seemed to have a pattern, so we waited for him to pass the other side of the door once again then hurried out and around the corner of the hallway.
We came face to face with a giant door and gathered as much energy as we could as we ran to the door.
As soon As Ryan put a hand to the door I stopped him.
"What if this is a trap." I whispered.
"Why would you think that?"
"Because it seemed to easy to find the door..."
But Ryan, being the free spirit he is, opened the door.
And I was right.
It was a trap.
"So you all want to leave that badly?" The leader said.
We remained silent.
"You know. If you wanted to leave you should have just asked. We have no use for you. His pairents won't pay for your release, her pairents won't either. You are nothing but a waste of money here." He pointed at Leo, Aqua and then me and Ryan.
"Really. You would let us leave?" Ryan asked in disbelief and slight hope.
'Would they really let us go that easily? No... they wouldn't... It would be extremely out of character.' I thought to myself.
"Yes. You would all be free to leave, you need only ask." He answered.
"M-may we... leave?" Ryan asked.
"But of course you may. Just without certain memories." He smiled cruely.

"Hello... we would like to report some found children." Ryan stated as we gathered around a desk in a police station.
"Oh my. You childeren look terrible." The woman at the desk remarked.
After that we were taken into questioning and sent home.
We couldn't remember anything apart from our names and the fact that we were kidnapped and tortured for four years.
We were all went back to put own homes, apart from Leo.
He was put up for adoption and taken in by the Lion family.
There he had a sister born on that same day as him, August 17th.
Her name was Ysabella.
