He took the role of a leader,

and gave himself a badge of honor,

and told us he will do right.

We believed him.

He made the decisions,

ones that would change the world.

He ruled over us rulers,

and we supported him.

But one day, he took it,

too far, and some of us,

turned away.

We didn't want him anymore,

and that frightened him.

Extreme measures were taken,

we separated into sides—

those who supported him,

and those who didn't—and,

we began to fight with words

across the room.

Soon one was blamed,

for her decisions,

which were not so different

from what he used to do.

When she was deliberately excluded,

others began to leave,

seeing wrong or just tired of fighting.

Some stopped coming,

more opposers stood up,

and the Council broke apart.

To this day,

it still is not mended.
