Chapter 5

Hey everyone it's me again. I think I'm in a writing binge, because I'm already working on this chapter. That 3 chapters back to back. Well, hopefully you'll like this one as well. Anyways, enjoy the show.

When Saphira speaking in thought: 'eragon'

When they are speaking in thought: ' '

Lord Stark couldn't believe his eyes. Heck, no of the people besides Arya and Kori, who already knew, couldn't believe it. In front of them was a very real dragon. Lord Stark couldn't help but stare at the creature that was thought to be extinct. But he remembered that this dragon and her companions aren't from this world, which made him wonder how many dragons exist in this other world.

He looked at Eragon with an expression of understanding. He understood why the secrecy. Lord Stark knew that word got out that a dragon, a fully grown dragon, exist out there, everyone would do anything to find it and either capture it or destroy it. But he also knew that it put Eragon at risk as well, for if anyone discovers that the dragon is his partner, then they would try to capture him to use her.

Eragon looked at Saphira as she spoke to him. 'Tell the Starks my full name and that it's an honor to meet them. Also tell them that if anything happens to you because of them, I won't hesitate to roast and eat them.' He just rolled his eyes at her but did as she asked.

"Saphira told me to tell you her full name is Saphira Bjartskular or Saphira Brightscales. She also said that is also an honor to meet you." He then felt her bump his shoulder and gave a pointed look for him to tell the rest of what she said. "She also said that if anything were to happen to me because of any of you, she'll roast and eat you."

At that, all of the Starks looked at the dragon with wide and scared eyes. Well, almost everyone. Little Arya was bouncing on the heels of her feet. Seeing as she couldn't hold I in any long, she rushed to the dragon and hugged, which scared the Starks at the sudden action. But little Arya was smiling happily. "A real beautiful dragon. She looks so mightily."

Lady Catelyn Stark yelled out at her youngest daughter. "Arya! Get away from her, she'll hurt you." Saphira didn't like that as she let out a snarl, which startled the Starks. Saphira then lowered her head to the little girl who was hugging her, who turned around and stared at the eyes of the dragon, who just rubbed her head affectionately against the little girl.

'I would never hurt anyone who doesn't deserve it or is a threat to Eragon. Especially children, who are innocent of the ways of the world.' Eragon relayed the message, which coupled with the giggles of the little girl, made everyone a little relieved. Jon Snow was the one who realized it before anyone else as he spoke. "Wait, she can talk? I thought she was just an animal?"

This only earned him a growl from Saphira. Eragon then jumped in before she decide to attack the Stark bastard. "Dragons are far more intelligent than any animals alive and they are even as intelligent as humans believe it or not. And yes, they have feeling and they can talk, just not like humans." Maester Luwin looked confused. "Can you explain?"

Eragon nodded as picked up the little girl and held her with one arm. "Well, since I'm bonded with her, it comes naturally. However, for everyone in general, she speaks via a mind link. Sort of like telepathy. She'll enter someone's thoughts and speak to them. But she won't do it without that person's permission." He looked down as. He puts the girl down and looks at the others. "Which reminds me, there is something else that I need to tell you."

But before he could go further, Arya stepped forwards and decided to speak on her regal voice. "Allow me." She looked at Saphira and smiled before looking at the Starks. "There is something else that is caused by magic on our world. We are able send out thoughts into other beings, whether to speak telepathically or if needed, we can enter a person's mind and either gather information from their memories or read their thoughts. It's a good way to tell if a person's is lying or not. It's also a good way to learn about a person's life."

Eragon sighed as he heard several gasps from the Starks. He could also see the looks of horror on the faces of Lord Stark and his wife as well as Maester Luwin. The older children had concern looks on their faces. Catelyn Stark just furrowed her brows as she glared at Arya. "So basically you're saying that if decided to prove our minds and get whatever information you want there wouldn't be anything we could do stop you?"

Eragon sighed at how blunt Arya's response was. "Yes." Eragon decided to intervene before things got hectic. "Arya is right, but I will be the one to say that we will never look into your minds without your permission. In fact, if you want, we could teach you how to guard your minds, if there is someone who could read minds."

Lord Stark looked at Eragon with a stern expression. "How so?" Eragon looked at the elder man and spoke. "Well, there are numerous ways to guard your mind. The most efficient way is to picture a steel wall around your mind. Or think of something very important to you and have it surround your mind."

Saphira took it upon herself to let herself be known. She sent out her presence to the minds of the Starks. Most of them were startled when they heard a deeply feminine voice speak to them. 'Fear not, little ones. I am not a threat. I'm also demonstrating on how I speak to someone. Also, the little one known as Arya.' Saphira lowered her head at the little girl. 'I'm happy you think I'm beautiful.' This only caused the little girl to giggle. "You're welcome Saphira."

Eragon just scoffed. "Great make her ego bigger than it already is." Saphira looked back at him and snorted, causing the others to feel a little relaxed. Saphira then spoke so everyone could hear. 'Let them say what they want to say.' Eragon just laughed this time. "Whatever you say Saphira."

Saphira moved her tail, causing to sweep Eragon off his feet and making him fall on his behind. "ugh. Saphira." He got up and brushed his behind, which cause Saphira to let out a chortling sound akin to laughter. "Oh laugh it up scales." This exchange caused everyone even Lord Stark to laugh.

"For a majestic creature, she is indeed humorous." Little Arya said as the young Stark's children then suddenly ran up to Saphira, playing around her large paws, to wihich she played along, causing the tension to fade away. Lady Catelyn was worried at first, but seeing as Saphira would never hurt her children, she intensed herself and just watched.

All the while watching this, Arya's regal smile faded away as she reached to her side and felt the item that was in her bag. She sighed as she looked at Saphira before looking at Eragon."Eragon." He looked at her noticed the slight frown on her face before noticing that she motioned to her head, telling him to mind link with her.

He nodded and opened his mind to her. 'What is it Arya?' She pointed to her bag, immediately causing him to tense as she responded. 'Though I want it to be me to be the one, let's test and see if any of them are the one.' He stilled at her thoughts, causing everyone even Saphira to look at him. 'Would that even be possible since we're not in Alagaesia?' She nodded, taking out a decent size box out of her bag. 'Where ever there is magic, there is a chance for the Ancient Language. If there is a chance for the Ancient Language, the Oath still pertains.'

He sighed heavily as Arya came in front of the Weirwood Tree and faced the Starks. "There is one more thing that needs to be addressed. I wasn't going to, but if you can keep Saphira a secret, then you've earned the right for this as well. Again, what I'm about to show you must never be told about unless we let you." She then opened the package and told everyone to come closer.

When the Starks saw what was in the box, their eyes grew once again wide as Lord Stark said what everyone was thinking. "Is that what I think it is?" Arya nodded as she placed the box down and picked up what was in it. What she took out of the box was a green and oval shaped orb that had slightly light green looking veins going around the object. "I present to you one of the last remaining dragon eggs from Alagaesia."

She then looked at each and every single one of the Stark children. "Now, I want each of you to, one at a time, come and touch the egg. We did this once upon a time when others eggs when they were plentiful. Now," she stopped as she held out the egg. "Come and touch the egg."

Of course, the first one to come and touch the egg was little Arya, who actually ran up to Arya, who lowered herself so the little girl could touch it. As soon as the girl touched it, they waited to see if there was a response. After a few minutes, nothing happened. Arya sighed as she looked at the little girl. "That's enough little one." Little Arya stepped, a little deflated, and went back to Saphira. "Who's next?"

The next one to follow little Arya was Rickon, who was brought to Arya via Lady Catelyn. The result was the same as little Arya. The little boy touched the egg and after some time, nothing happened. So Lady Stark stepped away with the little boy. After Rickon, Bran stepped forward and went to Arya, who again knelt so the boy could touch it. The result was nonetheless the same. No reaction whatsoever happened.

After the little children had their chance, the older Stark children had their chance, starting with Robb. The oldest Stark child stepped forward and touched the egg. The  result for him was the same as the younger Stark kids. After no change, Robb let go of the egg and stepped back. After him, Jon Snow stepped forward and touched the egg.

Of all the children who touched the egg, it was Jon Snow that held Lord Stark's attention the most. He was nervous that there may be some reaction, given his real lineage. However, his worries were short-lived, as after some time, nothing happened. He let go of the egg and stepped away. Arya sighed as she looked at everyone. "There's one last Stark left."

Everyone then turned their heads to last remaining Stark, to which caused Sansa Stark to jump as all of the attention was now on her. She looked down and wrapped her arms around herself. "Do I have too?" Arya nodded as stepped closer to the eldest girl of the Stark children. Eragon noticed the tension on the girl and stepped towards the girl and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "It'll be fine. Don't worry."

Sansa nodded as Arya held the egg out towards her. She sighed as she lifted her hands. "Here goes nothing." She then placed her hands on the egg and even took it from Arya. For a few seconds, nothing happened. For almost a minute, Sansa held the egg. It felt smooth and warm to her touch. She was about to give it back to Arya when her eyes widen when she heard a sound coming from the egg. Then the sound got louder and louder until she sees a crack appear on the egg. Arya's eyes widen at the realization.

"Sansa, gently place the egg on the ground." Sansa nodded as she place the egg gently on the ground and everyone gathered around. They watched as the crack got wider until a piece of the egg fell from the egg, showing what was inside. A few seconds later, another crack appeared soon the egg fell apart, revealed the little creature inside.

Eragon looked on as everyone either went wide eyes or in the young Stark girl go giddy or the little creature. Standing on wobbly legs was a dark green baby dragon with a lighter green underside. He sensed the mind of the dragon and like Saphira, it was colorful, barely anything except raw emotion. He watched as the dragon, on wobbly legs made its way towards Sansa. He along with Arya knew the reason why it's approaching her.

He saw that Sansa was a little scared as she didn't know why the dragon was approaching her, but he knew what must be done. He stepped towards Sansa and again placed a hand on Sansa's shoulder. "Go ahead and pet it. It seems to like you." She looked at him and was a little weary but nodded as she knelt on her knees as the dragon got closer. She held out her hand towards the dragon.

As the dragon touched her hand, a flash appeared, blinding everyone. Eragon felt the bond being made as did Arya and Saphira. After a few seconds, the flash disappeared. When everyone gathered their senses, the Starks panicked as they saw that Sansa was unconscious. Lord and Lady Stark rushed to their daughter, worried for her.

"Sansa! Baby, are you alright?" Lady Stark said as she held her baby girl. Lord Stark looked at the girl to make sure she was alright. She had no cuts or bruises or anything to show that she was hurt. He then saw her right hand, the very same hand that touched the egg. His eyes widened as he saw a silver dragon looking scar on the palm of her hand. "Is that...?"

Eragon stopped him as he knelt next to the girl and picked up the also unconscious baby dragon, placing the dragon on Sansa. "You are correct. That is the Gedwëy Ignasia. The bond is complete." Lord Stark and his family eyes widen as Lady Stark looked on in horror at the realization. "You mean....she's..." He nodded as he looked at the family. "Yes. Her life will never be the same. Sansa Stark is a Dragon Rider. The first one of Westeros."

And done. Wow, talk about a long chapter. Well, what do you know. Sansa Stark, the least likely person to become a Dragon Rider. What will happen next? Find out next time. For now that, adios my friends. :)-Weeksjmj
