When Saphira is talking in thought: 'eragon'

When they are talking in thought: ' '

When Braydën is talking in thought: 'eragon'

~•~Back in Essos~•~

Daenerys sat silently on horseback behind Viserys as their entourage moved towards the Dothraki Horde's base camp. She let out a long yet silent sigh, knowing what her fate would be upon her arriving to the camp. Viserys would get his army, and Daenerys will be the new bride and Khalessi of the Dothraki by marrying Khal Drogo.

She didn't want such things to happen, but is powerless to stop it. So, she let out another sigh, resigning herself to whatever fate has in store for her. She was shaken out of her stupor when her brother, who turned from his horse to look at her.

"Cheer up Daenerys, today is a momentous day. The Brute gets his mare and I get my army. Soon, we'll be heading to Westeros and I will get my crown." He smirked as he looked forward again.

It didn't take them long to get to the camp, but the moment they did, they felt it. A distinct feeling washed over them. Something was off about the camp. Magistrate Illyrio immediately became concerned because the realization that the camp was silent.

From his experiences with the Dothraki, he knew one fact that was evident in the lives of the Dothraki and is a part of their being: they are never quiet. Even at camp and even at night, there is noise. For there to be none, Magistrate Illyrio was worried. And it was Viserys who voiced his thoughts.

"Why is it so quiet? Aren't the Dothraki supposed to be loud brutes?" Illyrio nodded as he looked around saw Dothraki men and women going about their business, not making a sound. Illyrio then saw a disturbing look on one of the men's face that threw up red flags in his mind.

The Dothraki had fear in his eyes and his facial expression made him look as though he had seen a ghost. The Dothraki are a warrior and Brutish race who make noise almost where they go. The Dothraki Screamers were notorious for screaming as they charge their enemy, instilling fear as they prepare to attack. They don't cower to anyone unless they serve them.

For a Dothraki to show fear in their eyes brought on a startling realization in Magistrate Illyrio's eyes. 'Something frightened the Dothraki. Something dangerous enough to cause the Dothraki to show this much fear...' Illyrio stop his thoughts be for they could continue, else they would betray him. He turned back and looked at Viserys.

"Come along. We wouldn't want to keep our host waiting." Viserys nodded as he and their entourage followed the fat Magistrate. The party journeyed through the Dothraki camp, noticing that on some places, the tents looked a little burned down or ruined while others are being fixed by other Dothraki.

Daenerys looked towards a group of tents and cover her mouth to stop a gasps that was threatening to spill out. She watched as a pair of Dothraki were carrying a badly burned body of a man away from the tents, where there were more burned bodies.

'What could've caused this. Those men were burned alive by fire, but only something like a dragon could've caused such damn. What did this?' She thought as she looked away from a body of a man that looked as though it exploded. She hurried along behind Viserys and the others as they approached inner tents of the camp.

It didn't take them but a mere few minutes to approached the center of camp. Standing in the middle of the Dothraki camp was a massive tent that stood behind a large bonfire where little makeshift throne sat under a cover canopy, a place for the Khal to oversee the camp.

Magistrate Illyrio stopped the entourage, then dismounted his horse, prompting the others to do the same. He then motioned the others to walk towards the makeshift throne. As they approached the makeshift throne, the magistrate looked around and noticed the Dothraki bloodriders, or the Khal's personal Dothraki Riders, stood around the throne, but Illyrio noticed something very quickly.

The throne was empty. Khal Drogo was missing. 'Where's the Khal? Shouldn't he be here to welcome his guests?' Illyrio thought as he looked around before approaching the nearest bloodriders and began speaking in perfect Dothraki.

"Where's the Khal? Where's Khal Drogo?" Before the bloodrider could speak, someone else spoke instead. "You needn't worry about Drogo. He won't be here any time soon."

Daenerys as well as everyone turn towards the one who spoke and her eyes widen. Near the bloodriders, a little ways away from the throne, a man had his back to the group. He was sitting cross legged in a meditation like stance. From what she could see of the man, he didn't have a shirt on, exposing his slightly tanned skin to the group. She also noticed that he had shoulder length dark brown hair and that he had multiple scars on his back. But there was one major thing about the man that she noticed that the others had noticed as well.

"He's not a Dothraki." She said in a low voice as the group continued to look at him. The magistrate then spoke. "What do you mean, and who are you?"

The man continued to keep his back to the group. He slowly stood, as he did, he revealed his lower back which should the outline of muscles and went to go around towards his front. He reached down and picked up a tunic that sat next to him.

"It's as I said. Drogo is no longer here." He then turned around. As he did, his face shocked most of the people in Daenerys' entourage. 'He looks so young and yet he has the eyes of someone who's been through a lot.' Illyrio thought as he examined the man's face.

His eyes were as dark as his hair and his face still showed a little youth, but from under his tunic, his muscles stood out, causing Daenerys to inadvertently blush a little. "As for who I am," He stopped as he then walked towards the throne and sat cross legged. "You may call me Murtagh."

Magistrate Illyrio looked stunned as he watched the man now known as Murtagh, sit on the throne of the Khal. 'Wait. It can't be, can he?' He thought as Viserys, as stupid as he is, decided to speak in an arrogant tone.

"Who cares who you are? Where is Drogo? He's supposed wed my sister and give me an army." The man just laughed. "If must know where Drogo is, look over there." He motioned toward pike near the bonfire that stood 30 feet in the air. They looked up and Illyrio nearly fainted.

On top of the Pike sat the head of Khal Drogo.

They looked back at the man as Murtagh stood and approached them. "As you can see, Khal Drogo is no more. There is a new leader of the Dothraki, thought I didn't want this position at first. I had no choice but to take it."

Illyrio looked confused. "Why?" Murtagh said nothing. He instead approached Daenerys who looked nervous. He stopped in front of her and placed a gentle hand on the side of her face.

"You will never be forced against your will as long as here." He said as spoke in a soft and gentle voice, which caused her to look at him with wide eyes. Before she could say anything, he stepped back

"Daenerys of House Targeryen is henceforth under my protection. No one will hurt her or use her for their own ambitions." Viserys snarled. "Who are you make such a claim? You are no one. I am the rightful ruler of Westeros, and she will listen to me and so will you. Unless you want to wake the Dragon?"

Daenerys looked at Murtagh as he smirked at Viserys. "Wake the Dragon?" He then looked at the skies as a powerful gust of wind blew through the camp. Illyrio looked at the bloodriders and he paled at their expressions.

They looked panicked as several of them looked at the skies. On instinct, he looked up. With his eyes widening, he paled, wishing he hadn't. Daenerys looked up as well, wondering why he had the look of death in his eyes. She let out loud gasp as well.

In the sky, something in the distance flew in front of the sun. It blotted out the sun for an instance. It was to big to be a bird. Then Daenerys heard the flapping of wings. Coming from the highest part of the skies, a large dragon flew down.

Daenerys marveled at the sight of such a creature as it let out a roar, which caused everyone to panic. It was the color of the brightest ruby. It had spikes all over its body. She noticed that it had four legs instead of 2 and the wings were massive. She realized instantly that this dragon is different than the ones she was told when she was young.

The dragon circled the camp a couple of times before landing near the bonfire, stirring up winds as it landed, causing some of the tents to blow And some of the people to stumble and fall. The dragon let out a roar before it approached Murtagh and stood near the assembled group.

Murtagh approached the dragon and petted it's jaws before looking at them. Daenerys understood instantly. She now knew the reason, why the Dothraki are scared and more docile. It was because this man. He did something that no one has ever done before. He took over a horde. A horde of Dothraki. With the aid of a dragon.

"You know nothing Viserys." The dragon then roared, causing Viserys to fall on his behind. Murtagh approached and crouched in front of him with his sword, unsheathed and stabbing the ground next to him.

"You're the one who awoken the Dragon."

And with that, I'm finally done. I'm soooo sorry I'm late. I will endeavor to try and write faster. The next chapter be up as soon as possible. For now though, until next time. :)-weeksjmj
