COZY IN THE LIBRARY (We're Stuck Part 2)

Sorry for the wait...it took longer than I expected.

"Slow down, you idiot devil!" Valeriana hissed. They were currently walking through the dim hallways of the academy on their way to the Headmaster's office.

Luckily, it was still early, and there were no students around...yet.

Corvan on the other hand, had been dragging the fifth ranker around like a rag doll, with an angry frown on his face.

After giving the twins their "punishment," he was still not satisfied and he was still fuming.

"Let me remind you that I'm here. I don't want to barbequed, so calm down will you?" Valeriana said.

He calmed down a bit, and still continued to walk ahead.

Their hands were stuck together! STUCK TOGETHER! His mind kept yelling. It was unsettling, and infuriating. Of all the people on the world, why the stupid witch?

Although a part of him, didn't seem to mind being in this situation. He was holding her hand, well technically he wasn't, but they still looked like they were holding hands.

At his continuous thoughts, his cheeks got redder and redder by the minute. Luckily, he was ahead, and Val couldn't see it because she was being pulled behind.

Get a hold of yourself, he inwardly yelled.

They finally reached the headmaster's office.

He quickly knocked and anxiously waited for Kylon's reply. The moment he heard the words "come in," he pushed the door open, and dragged Val inside the room.

Headmaster Kylon raised a brow when he saw that the fifth and first rankers were holding hands as they made their way to him.

He was about to speak, but Valeriana beat him to it.

"It's not what you think, headmaster," she said, causing him to shut up.

"Our hands are stuck!" Corvan said. He then raised the hand holding Val's and moved it around. His actions caused the fifth to get thrown around.

"Stop it, jerk!" she yelled. Corvan stopped at once.

Kylon on the other hand was resisting the urge to laugh at their current situation. His pale eyes glowed in mischief, as a grin spread over his lips.

"So, how did, you guys ended up in that...'predicament'?" he asked them.

Val then began explaining about a substance that got spilled on Corvan's hand and enhanced the stickiness of Glue, whatever that was, and they ended up in this situation.

Although still confused, Kylon just nodded, pretending to be sympathetic for them even though he wasn't.

"Why did you come here?" he asked them.

"Headmaster, we won't be able to attend any of our classes when we're like this. We'd like to get permission to be excused for the time being," Corvan said.

"Yeah, Charles said that it will probably wear off in a couple of hours since it's just a test sample," Val said.

With Corvan being right, as well as Val's reasoning, Kylon sighed and had no choice but to agree.

"Alright, I guess I'll let you. I'll inform your instructors of your situation," he said, as he took out some paper.

The two were about to let out a sigh of relief, when his words stopped them.

"But, the both of you will be staying in the library and will be self-studying," he said.

That idea didn't sit too well with the both of them. They were sure that a lot of students will be coming by the lib and they didn't really want to be seen....you know.

"Can't we...just do that back at the dorm?" Val asked.

"Unless, you want to do it in either one of your rooms," Kylon said.

The both of them turned red for some reason, and he couldn't help but grin.

"We can do it in the lobby," Corvan mumbled.

"You'll do as I say. Now run along, and get going before anymore of the students start arriving. I'm pretty sure you don't want to be seen like that," Kylon said.

At once, Corvan made a move and dashed for the door, dragging Val again for the umpteenth time.

Too late, the headmaster thought as he smirked.

He was right though. Classes were about to begin, and the halls were now filled with the students walking around.

With reddening cheeks, Val looked down at her boots as she and Corvan headed for the library. The first ranker on the other hand was doing an excellent job at keeping his neutral expression intact even though he was so uncomfortable on the inside.

As they past, the student's dilated eyes followed their movement. Some had their brows to their hairline. Some had dropped their jaws. While some of the girls had angry frowns on their faces directed at Val.

To the two's relief, they reached the library. Luckily, there weren't anyone around, except the librarian. She raised her brows at them, but she turned back her attention to the book she was reading.

They moved further into the room. Corvan led them to a spot in the library far from the entrance and hidden behind large bookcases.

There was a long red couch there, with a small table in front of it. Val wondered why it was here in the first place. But then again, the academy was grand and stuff.

Corvan plopped himself down on it, and Val followed after. Silenced reigned over the both of them, while Val traced circles on her knee.

Corvan tugged her hand just as he stood up. They made their way over to some of the shelves, and soon enough the young lord had a stack of books cradled in his arm. They made their way back to the couch, and he placed the books on the small table.

"Start studying," was all he said before he took a book, and opened it.

Val sighed and just did as she was told. She took a book about demons and began reading.

"If you can't understand anything, you can ask me to explain it to you," Corvan said.

She whipped her head towards him, and her face started to turn red again. They were sitting really closely, with barely a few centimeters before them.

Plus, it didn't help that Corvan was gazing at her with his piercing emerald eyes, with a look she couldn't decipher. All she could do was nod.

They were like that for the duration of the first hour, until they started to get uncomfortable. Their wrists were aching, because their glued hands were set in a weird position. They set it like that to avoid touching anymore of each other, other than their hands.

Corvan couldn't concentrate because of the pain, and he was sure that Val was feeling the same way. He glanced at her when he felt that she was tugging on their hands as she tried to sooth her wrist.

He knew of a position that will stop their wrists from aching, but it will create an even more awkward air around them.

It was an outrages idea, and never once would he think of doing it with Valeriana. Although, the part of him that wanted to do it, won the battle.

He tugged on their hands, and lifted his arm over her head. Val was surprised by this.

"Sit on my lap," Corvan said. She whirled her head towards him, and found their faces only a few centimeters apart.

When she didn't move, Corvan let go of his book. With his free arm, he wrapped it around her waist and effortlessly lifted her to sit on his lap.

Val let out a quiet shriek.

"I won't do anything, unless you stay put and study," was all he said, before lifted his book and resumed reading.

Truth be told, a part of him, was yelling at himself as to why he did this. While a really huge part of him was enjoying this, all the more when he saw her flaming cheeks.

If Val could choose, she would choose to have her wrist ache instead of sitting on the young lord's lap.

At least, she was able to concentrate more before than her current situation. Corvan was so close, that she could feel his breath on her cheek, sending little sparks all over her body.

―――

Corvan's eyes fluttered open, when he felt movements on top of him.

How the hell did I fall asleep? He thought.

He was currently lying down on the couch, with Valeriana on top of him.

His eyes widened.

VALERIANA WAS ON TOP OF HIM!

He tried to sit up, but stopped himself when she started stirring. She rolled over slightly, and buried her face on the crook of his neck. It rendered him frozen, as a deep blush covered his face.

She purred lightly like a little kitten, and it somehow amused the first ranker. He chose to lie back down, afraid of waking her up.

Again, he found himself enjoying being in this situation.

He moved his head back a bit, and ran his gaze over her beautiful features.

Her eyes with long lashes, rosy cheeks, tall nose, and red plump lips that tempted every fiber of his being to lean down and claim them.

He groaned in silence, and decided to run his hand over her hair. He slowly took off her hair tie, and her golden locks spread out over them.

He ran his fingers through the strands, and inhaled her lovely scent.

"Why am I doing this?" he muttered, with his smile growing bigger and bigger.

He was surprised when Val lifted her head with half-lidded eyes. She was still half-asleep.

Once again, he was taken aback when she leaned down and their lips connected.

She was about to pull her head back, but Corvan placed a hand behind her head, and kissed her back.

Val let out a quiet moan, causing Corvan to smile against her lips. After a couple of moments, they pulled away, taking in large amounts of air.

Valeriana was fully awake now, and Corvan couldn't help but give her one of his rare heart-stopping smiles.

She blushed a deep shade of red, and she tried to get off. But, Corvan used their glued hands to his advantage.

He tugged on it, and she ended up back on top of him. Without wasting another second, he kissed her again, and she melted into it after a few moments of trying to break away.

The librarian was neither happy nor angry when she saw what they were doing.
