When Tom told you he was going on Strictly, a part of you couldn't believe it because whilst he was a musician he had never been the best dancer.

Of course, you were excited for him, and you were even more excited to go and watch him.

Once Tom had been in Strictly for a few weeks, Amy arranged for you to go and visit them in training – as part of the show but also to see how Tom was getting on.

Keeping it a secret from him was difficult but you somehow managed it.

You were stood outside the room, and you could hear Amy talking to Tom inside. "So, we have a bit of a surprise for you," you heard her say to him.

"Hiya!" you called to him as you came in through the door.

Tom looked shocked but ran over to hug you. "What're you doing here?!"

You laughed as he spun you around. "I thought I'd surprise you! And see how you were doing of course."

"He's doing great," Amy told you as she came up to hug you. "Although I am going to get him to practice with you."

You were shocked, this hadn't been part of what Amy mentioned when she asked you to come into training for the afternoon.

She giggled when she saw your facial expression. "It'll be easy! Just let Tom lead you."

Tom took your hands and pulled you into a ballroom hold, his face smiling down at you.

"Trust me?" he quizzed, still smiling.

"Always," you nodded.

The music started and you realised what song it was, Tom hadn't told you what he'd been dancing to and now you knew why.

It was the song he'd written for you a few months into your relationship; it had taken a lot for him to release it out to the world too.

"Surprise," he whispered into your ear as you danced. "I do have a question for you," he spun you round and let go of your hand, as you came back to be in front of him he was down on one knee.

You gasped and glanced over at Amy, who had a giddy smile on her face and looked like she was about to burst into tears.

"Now I know you thought you were the one surprising me today, but little did you know this was all planned," he held your hands as he knelt. "We've been together for a long time now; you've been there for me through everything, and I couldn't wish for anyone better to spend my life with."

He smiled up at you as he dug out a ring box from his pocket.

"So, what do you say? Will you marry me?"
