Hayley Atwell- Date Night (c)
When Hayley had said yes to the date you had thought you had experienced a blackout and fantasised that she could possibly want to get to know you more than as a friend and colleague. The two of you had met when working on Conviction, and instantly you realised she was the type of person you wanted to spend time with, she was too kind and lovely to ever pass up such an opportunity.
It took you the whole time on that project to get the courage to ask her out on a date, having spoken to her on multiple occasions considering her a friend; not knowing if she felt that you were her friend though.
Up until the date had occurred you were worried beyond belief, anxiety controlling your thoughts not allowing you to do much else but think about what would occur.
You could have never imagined that the day would go as well as it actually had. You had a great time and from the laughter and smile on Hayley's face you assumed she had felt the same. Even though there was nothing more that could have possibly happened to make it go better, you were still nervous that maybe nothing else would come from that date. You hoped that there would be another. Maybe even more than just a second date but maybe Hayley didn't feel the same.
As you walked by her side to her car, before you would part ways and go to your home that was only around the corner, you were focused on trying to think about how to ask if she would wish to go on another date, unable to look up from your feet.
When you stopped by her car, you finally looked up at her, smiling, if not a slightly awkwardly but it was a smile nevertheless.
"I had a really lovely time today," you smiled warmly. "I... erm... I would really love if we could do something like this again- only if you want to of course."
She laughed softly at your words.
"I would love to. I will check my diary tonight, but maybe sometime next week?" She asked.
You nodded your head probably slightly too enthusiastically. Letting out a cough, you attempted to compose yourself.
"Yeah that will be great. Um... I hope your journey home is safe," you said softly.
"You too. Goodnight," she smiled leaning in to press a gentle kiss to your cheek.
"Goodnight."
