Dan Howell- New Year's Eve (c)
You weren't one for a large party not even for New Year's Eve, in your ideal world you would have stayed in with your boyfriend and watched the London countdown and fireworks on TV. Luckily it wasn't too much different to that. There were only a few of you in your boyfriend's apartment, including his roommate and a couple of friends as well. It wasn't the most ideal of situations, but it wasn't too bad.
Drinks were laid out on the dining table, a variety of alcoholic drinks along with a fair variety of fizzy drinks too. Different bowls of crisps and nuts were by the drinks along with on the coffee table, becoming a hindrance to the board games that you were all attempting to play.
Starting with Monopoly was a mistake seen as it lasted until near to eleven due to the number of players and how long it was to play. You had enough time to play cards against humanity before Phil told everyone that they should head outside the flat to be able to see the fireworks.
Everyone grabbed their coats to tackle the winter breeze, whilst Dan wrapped one of his coats around you, laying up a scarf you had bought him to make sure you were warm.
You appreciated that he always made sure that you would be okay, ahead of himself, but you did insist that he wore the warmer of the two coats that he owned, knowing that he would just hug you to share body warmth outside.
The group of you headed outside with a couple of minutes to spare until midnight.
Dan wrapped his arms around you, using his coat to drape around you too. The wind chilled you all terribly, but you were waiting out the remaining time to celebrate a new year coming in.
Phil checked his phone as your neighbours came out to join you all on the street, staring up at the night scare getting ready for the fireworks to commence.
"10," Phil shouted to announce the countdown was starting.
You smiled up to Dan as you begun to chant the numbers with the group to celebrate the new year about to start.
"3," you all chanted together.
"2."
"1."
As the last number escaped your lips everyone shouted their Happy New Years, but you were focused on Dan, no one else.
He leaned down to press his lips to yours.
"Happy New Year," he smiled as the fireworks shined over your heads.
