author note: enjoy the first chapter of this new story!!!!!!! sorry it's late. (small little spoiler for TOA that you wouldn't even notice was a spoiler if you haven't read the books)

3rd person pov. . .(Nico's pov. . .)

     it was that time of year, the time the year changed to another year. despite Nico saying he hated celebrating anything, he truly did love it. he liked watching his friends laugh, and he loved hanging out with Will. It's been a year since Nico failed at asking Will out, but that story will never get out into the open.

     Nico was "forced" by Will to help set up camp for the big New Year's Eve party. Nico was tasked with setting up lights while Will set up the blankets. the camp was planning this huge party with fireworks and a huge barffet (Nico purposely spelled that wrong, buffets make him barf.)

     according to Will camp does this party every year but this will be Nico's first time experiencing it.

     "I promise you, Nico. this party is amazing. It's one of my favorite ones that camp does, actually, I can't have a favorite, they're all too awesome. the fireworks on this holiday and fourth of July are awesome, and the decoration on Christmas and Valentine and Halloween and- sorry I'm ranting again."

     Nico couldnt help but smile at his boyfriends excited rant. Nico loved when will ranted about things he loves, he does it all the time, Nico may not understand some of the things will talks about but it makes him happy to have someone listen to him and Nico's happy to volunteer.

     Nico finished setting up the lights and helped will with the blankets, even though will hated to admit it he was a clumsy monkey. before Nico helped will get himself untangled from the blanket he somehow got himself stuck in Nico took a picture to rub it in wills face, which he knew would come back to bite him in the butt but he didnt care.

     they finished setting up for the party just as the nymphs and Hephaestus cabin came bringing out the barffet. soon everyone at camp was partying. Nico stayed near will the whole time, Nico might like the parties but he still gets over stimulated sometimes and will always helped him calm down, that and the black headphones will got him for Christmas that year.

     with only ten minutes till midnight everyone stood at thier blankets while the Hephaestus and Hermes cabin sets up their holograph countdown. the camp voted, the choices were between the normal new York ball drop, OR they could have done a sword stabbing a monster and the monster exploding in yellow dust when it turned midnight. the demigods obviously chose the second option because who wouldn't want to see a monster explode? everyone wants that.

     "TEN!" the camp started counting down. Nico couldnt wait to kiss will.

     "NINE"

     "EIGHT"

     "SEVEN"

     "SIX"

     "FIVE"

     Nico watched as the couples got closer to each other and he did the same with will.

     "FOUR"

     "THREE"

     "TWO"

     "ONE!"

     Nico grabbed will's face and pulled him in, the two kissed and then cheered with the other demigods. Nico even saw ben pull lily to him and kiss her when the monster expoloded into yellow dust, truly an amazing sight.

     "happy new year neeks."

     "happy new year significant annoyance." Nico smiled, "thank you for a wonderful year, I'm so glad i get to start this one looking in your eyes."

     will pulled Nico's cold hands up and kissed them smiling as Nico's face turned pink. Nico was so thankful for will and that he found him and he couldnt wait for  what the future holds for them.
