Chapter 4 - New School

Blaire's P.O.V

Barely a week later, I pulled up in front of my new school, St. Madison's Academy. I stood gaped as my jaw touched the ground. So huge it was! I presented my ID card at the gate and drove inside into the parking lot. It was so huge. The parking owned rich and classy cars and held each of them with pride. My eyes glittered at a Ferrari and adored the showy dodge.

"Bunch of rich snobs," I muttered.

Back there it was just a small parking lot and few of the students drove to school so it wasn't a huge suit you know. How would I fit into their world? I walked out of the parking lot when a girl approached me.

"Hi Blaire," she held sweetly.

"Good Morning. It's nice to have you here with us. You're a damn lucky girl, that the seats ain't filled yet. I'm your...uh...kind of assistance. I am having the sole responsibility of introducing you and making you fit in this atmosphere," she added.

"Good Morning. It's nice to meet you too," I smiled back.

"Anyways, I'm Jasmine. Let's move ahead."

"There is all total of four buildings on the campus. The main building of the main quad is the main school building, which generally holds all the classes for students of every year. The building next to it is connected through a basement passageway but we don't usually use that way. That building mainly consists of other co-curriculum activities' room. We have got a huge basketball auditorium in the basement of that building. The first floor consists of the huge cafeteria, the ballroom and a conference auditorium. The second floor consists of a gym room, painting room, dance room, music room. The third floor consists of a science exhibition room, all three science laboratories, a computer laboratory, and a huge sick room, which is no less than a doctor's personal chamber. The top floor of that building is totally a library," She continued her babbling and I listened to her in marvel, thinking silently that she talks way too much.

She would definitely make a good friend. Maybe a close friend. She's so innocent and free-spirited. She's delightful and charming too but just a bit talkative. Her golden hairs seemed damn contrasting to her pale skin tone and beautiful green eyes. She had striking features.

"Rest, I will tell you later and some you will come to know by yourself though. Come, now let's go to the locker first and then we have to head back to the class," She said as she took my hand in hers and we walked along the hallway passing larger rooms with glass doors.

She described, "The basement consists of teacher's rooms, Principal's desk, auditorium, management's office. The ground floor and the first floor take whole of Freshman year, the second and third floor is occupied by sophomore and junior year students and the fourth and fifth floor takes up the senior year and a portion of junior year too."

We stepped on the escalator and she led us to a room on the third floor. She scanned her ID on the glass door to open it.

"Your locker is probably this one," she said.

"Here look, Blaire Willy right?" she asked for confirmation. I nodded my head.

"Now come here scan your ID in your locker and put your fingerprint over the fingerprint scanner to access it," She described.

I stood there awestruck.

After all this, a bell rang and we went to our English class together. I was edgy as fuck. This time I scanned my card on the entrance. It was quite exciting. My card read BLAIRE WILLY; AGE 16; JUNIOR YEAR; which meant I couldn't enter any other place which was just meant for freshman, sophomore or senior year. I also had a mini I-pad which contains every detail of school. Starting from my daily schedule to school activities, website and every other small detailed info about me.

We entered the class to face at least a hundred chairs or so. The front wall was totally covered by a tech board and an overhead projector. All the seats were full except three chairs in the corner of the front row. Okay, here we had personal tables and chairs. That left with only one blank desk. The teacher entered the classroom. She looked fastidious and welcoming. I wondered how she would teach or rather how the studs sitting at the back would perceive the sound of her.

All my doubts were cleared when she finally spoke, "Good Morning class," on her collar mic.

"Today we have a new student along with us and I'd like to orient her to all of you," she declared and then gestured towards me.

"Please come up here to the front, Blaire," she spoke in an imperative tone.

" 'Kay, class. This is Blaire Willy and she shifted here from LA. Blaire, go ahead tell something if you want to," she smiled at me.

"So, yeah. I'm Blaire and I'm the 'new girl'," I said quoting the words with my fingers, "I might be new here but trust me I'm very frank. Feel free if you need anything, any help and I hope we can be friends. That's all. Cool," I shrugged as I jammed my hands in my pockets.

It was my first class there. Everything there was so awesome. Dad was right, everything was very technical. It was almost fifteen minutes and Ms Oswald was going through the tragedy of Troilus and Cressida by Shakespeare.

"Troilus and Cressida were set during the later years of Trojan war, faithfully following...," she went on saying when the door beeped and was flung open.

I stared at my eyes gulped down each and every fine point of him. He was tall, lean but muscular. He was neither pale nor tanned; his sand brown hairs totally messed up. A sharp jawline just added to his perfection. Last but not least, his icy blue gaze. I could see so much of fantasy in it. I could drown in his eyes. I stared at him in scepticism. It was him. Although the classroom was very airy with tall and huge windows yet I was suffocating or was it just his presence that took away my breath.

"Mr Woods," Ms Oswald snapped.

"You are never on time. Please don't disturb my class like this," she yelled.

"Sorry, Ms Oswald," he mumbled and then his eyes directly hit mine.

His bored gaze swept past me and they swiftly doubled back, eyes narrowing. Our gazes were locked, "Fuck," he lipped.

"Take a seat, Mr Woods," she snapped back.

"Holy Christ," I muttered, my breathe already hitched.

I was already so much nervous about my first day there. I was relieved as I met Jasmine but this wasn't gonna help. He's here? But why? So many questions revolved around my head at that instant. And now he was sitting beside me with his eyes continuously drifting over me. I could feel the heat of his gaze tracing up and down my body.

The bell rang marking the end of that class. I gathered my stuff and was to leave when Jasmine held my hand.

"Where are you going Blaire?" she asked vigilantly.

I stared at her spellbound.

"I, uh....umm....uh," I fumbled.

"Which class now?" she asked.

"History maybe," I supposed.

"Go to the second floor and find the class labelled as history," she instructed.

"I'm having sociology now so I need to leave. Meet me after this class in the cafeteria," she added.

"Ok."

I left without a second word. I went towards the locker. I scanned my card and my fingerprint, to open it. While I was making some knick-knack, I noticed his gaze travel towards me from across the hall. I turned to meet his eyes, while he turned and move out. I made my way to history class and that one hour was a total waste. I was still anxious. I didn't know anybody here. I entered the room painted in lemon-yellow and it sure gave me a light feeling. I went inside and had a seat on the second row. On my left, I saw a blonde, chewing gum continuously and on my right was a boy with glasses. He was cute though. I saw it was Mr Ashton's class. The class was on its engine soon. I thought it would be boring but with pictures, videos and clips, it seemed quite interesting. Maybe Roman history was really interesting. The blond went on chewing her gum, looking bored and frustrated. The dark-haired boy with glasses was digging deep into the text. He seemed really interested in history. I looked up and the guy sitting right in front of me turned his head and shot a wink immediately.

I lowered down my head at that instant and stared at the text, embarrassed. I wasn't habituated in a co-ed environment. I checked my routine to find a French class after lunch, and then another English followed by self-study. Then finally back to home. Another three hours, it'd drive me crazy. I wanted to talk to him but how?

I stared at the pictures on the smartboard, waiting for the class to get over. As soon as the bell rang, I headed towards the locker. Keeping my things, I was on my way to the cafeteria. I took the escalator to the basement and was walking through the hallway. Suddenly my shoulder brushed off someone's arm. I turned to face Christian. For a moment he stared at me, then his eyes were suddenly sad and depressed. He grabbed my arm and swiftly moved to one of the dark corners of the basement, pressed me between the wall and his body. His gaze was fixed on my shoulder. I could feel the pressure of his weight and heat radiating off him. My mind went off, cheeks flushed red; I felt butterflies in my stomach and my heart popped out. He lowered his mouth down to my ear...

"Get away from me. Don't. Don't stay around me. We can't be friends. Understand? Just remember that you ain't my mingling type," he whispered against my ear, loosened his grip on my wrist, turned around and headed towards the cafeteria.

I was stunned by his words. What does that mean? I couldn't understand any of it, as if he was speaking some unknown language. After a few minutes of brainstorming, I went to the cafeteria. On reaching, I saw Jasmine walking towards me with two other girls.

She walked up to me. "This is Sophia Taylor and Erie Miller," she introduced.

"Oh, I'm Blaire Willy. Nice to meet you guys," I replied. We sat on a cafeteria table with burgers and cheese fries, but I could hardly eat anything. All I could think were his words, repeatedly ringing in my ears. What was that all about?

"Oh, there he comes," Sophia beamed beside me.

"Christian, with Duncan Jones along with him," She said cheerfully with dreamy eyes, only Erie didn't seem excited.

I turned my head and my gazes drowned into his sapphires. My eyes were hooked on him. He passed by our table with his eyes locked on me, and then finally went. Beside me, Sophia blushed.

"OML! He's so damn cute and hottie. All right, so Blaire, he is the heartthrob of every girl at Madison's. But he also doesn't allow everyone around him. But he is so damn perfect in his every feature that girls throw themselves at him all the time," She exclaimed.

"By the way, is anything going on between you and him? Do you know him?" Jasmine suddenly asked.

"No...why?" I mumbled.

"Rumors have it that you are along with him. I also had a crush on him once. But I know he's not the right person for me. He has quite a bad reputation due to his family. Moreover, he doesn't believe in 'love and relationships'. He may have seven different girls on the seven days of the week and then toss them around one by one after each night. Girls are happy enough with that, 'cause they are just crazy for him," Jasmine shrugged.

It still didn't make sense though. Those words... A bell rang and the crowds dispersed. Everyone made it to their own classes, but I didn't. I roamed around the campus watching all the statues of great people, the planters and the flower. I sat on the paving of the swimming pool and stared at the blue water. The day ended, at last, we didn't have any more interactions. I reached over to my car and unlocked it while I noticed a small piece of paper tucked in the wiper. It read - Don't miss the Friday night party - Sabrina Parker. Yeah, you are invited. You had read it right.

I took the paper and put it in my purse, and drove off, while a voice startled me. I turned around to meet a pair of jade eyes and ink black hairs.

"I hope you know me, we have a history class together. I'm James by the way. Ummm...James Lee. Actually, I need a lift and Christian left without me."

He said in a breathe. I was going to deny him but Christian's name made me say yes. We drove off to an unknown road anyways, everything was unknown to me there.

"Just stop by the iron bars," he instructed.

I followed his instructions and screeched to a halt. He bid me bye and then turned around.

"Where do you live, by the way?"

"Uh...imperial Avenue," I replied after a bit of hesitation.

"Alright, but imperial avenue isn't just like a 100-metre area," he practically grinned.

"Sure, it isn't. Sector 14, 1-1-4," I replied.

"May I have your number?" he asked.

"Yeah, sure."

I continued to talk with him while someone's gaze heated up my body. I stared back at his icy blue eyes, his shirt buttoned down revealing his perfectly build chest and his hard stomach, deeply cut by the muscles and the v in his lower abdomen, which disappeared into his pants. I shifted my gaze, however, but he continued to stare. I hit the accelerator and drove off from there as soon as possible.

Promising myself to find out what this was all about, my mind was still stuck on this afternoon.
