Announcement: Alright, so I have a lot of things that I want to say, but first. I want to apologize for not updating sooner. For the reason, I have a lot. One: I am going to Knotts Berry Farm on July 17 so I have to get ready. Two: I have homework that I must finish by the end of this month. Three: I have to get ready for a San Fransisco vacation trip that I'll be going with some of my friends (August 12 to August 14). Lastly, my parents have assigned me to do extra work during my summer break, such as tutor, writing, less computer, and reading as well. Unfortunately, what I'm saying is that....

I will be updating slower than usual.

Please try to understand that everyone's life are not that carefree easy or have a lot of free time on their hand. Of course, I enjoy all of the things that you guys have done for me for almost a year now and the many wonderful comments and support that you have given me along the way. Please continue to support me and wait patiently for the new upcoming chapters that will surely come in the future.

'Just a little longer....Yugi!'

The wound from the bullet shot must have damaged the deltoid within his right shoulder. Yami was grateful that there's no problem in carrying him to safety, however, the only thing that has him concern is how much longer Yugi could last. Even with further inspection, he already knew that he lost too much blood. Evidence can be seen on his shirt as the blood continue to seep out and making his white shirt turn a bloody red. The smell of iron is making him feel nauseous, but he continues on without stopping what-so-ever.

"The stairs should be on our left. From there we'll be about to get to the roof."

Seto instructed. Another sudden shake erupted from the ground, which caused them to stop and hold them steady against the wall. Yugi grabs the wound tighter and hissed when a sprout of pain went straight through his arm.

"Y-Yami-"

"We're almost there. Try to keep yourself steady."

"T-The gun *gasp* G-Grab my...gun."

'His gun?'

Yami slowing kneel down, putting Yugi in a sitting position, before rummaging through his pocket gun. There he found a Silvergun and detached itself from the pouch.

"I got it."

"Good."

Yugi squeezes his eyes shut before he quickly said, "Use it to set the sprinklers off. The water will dispatch the fire until we reach the roof."

"Alright."

Making sure that the bullets are in place, Yami aim the trigger above the ceiling where the fire sprinklers are.

"Just make sure it does hit our head, kid!"

"Shut up!"

With that, Yami pulled the trigger.

*BANG!*

The fire sprinklers had indicated some gunpowder in the air which cause the sprinklers to go off. In less than 10 seconds, the entire hallway is now pouring rain. Drenching both Yami and Yugi, as well as the others.

"Come on!"

"Hurry!"

All of them quickly stand up and carry on to safety. There they made sure to turn left and found another door that will take them to the roof; right below the stage intervention that was hosted primarily for announcements or parties.

"Damn it! How many bombs did this guy plant anyway!?"

"The water won't hold them for long."

"Less talking, more running!"

*KABOOM!*

Another explosion shook the daylight out of them as they were forced, again, to hang on the rail. The rail creaked and rocked as the stairs seem to shift under their feet.

"The stairs are not stabilizing!"

"Seto! You guys go first! I'll be right behind you!"

"Fine."

Yami steps aside for Seto and Heba to go first before continuing on with them. With each step, the floor beneath them creaks but push on until they finally reach the two out of all the staircases that will lead them to the rooftop. Unfortunately, Yami noticed that the stairs that are above them don't look stable at all.

"The fire should be spreading by now. We'll be able to make it-"

Heba wasn't able to finish before he was cut off by another shook from the ground and a terrifying creak that seem to be coming from-

"WATCH OUT!"

The staircase above them began to crack before it was about to fall on top of Heba, Seto, and Gozabura. They expected the heavy weight that will most likely kill all three of them but instead felt a force that bounces right off their back and making them trip forwards before they cover themselves from the many clouds of dust and pieces of rocks that have gathered in the air. Heba stood up, dust covering his clothes and face before he looks behind him to see the largest staircase blocking the path where they used to come from. To his horror, he couldn't see their other two accomplices that volunteered to follow behind them.

"Yami! Yugi! Oi!", Heba shouted at the large staircase that completely blocked the path. Straining his ears, he listens closer before he heard, "We're alright!"

He could somehow hear Yami a cough before he sighs in relief.

"It's not over."

"Huh?"

Heba turns towards Seto as he also stood up as well.

"The fact that they didn't get squash under those rocks may be a good thing, but there's another fact that we should be worrying about."

Heba knew exactly what he meant by that.

"They can't get out."

Location: On the other side

"*cough* *cough* Yūgi, daijōbudesuka? *Yugi, you alright?*"

"*cough* *cough* Y-Yes."

When the dust finally sustains, Yami tries to sit up but found that Yugi is still on top of him. Though, he can't help but feel something touching his face until he found out later what it is.

Yami blushed bright red when he found himself in a position where Yugi is technically straddling him on his waist, while his chest shields his face from the rocks that shoot out from every direction.

"You...protected me?"

Yugi hissed as he used his good arm to support himself before slowly lifting himself off. The small rocks that were on his back rolled off of him as he tries to get up. He groaned.

"I think I hit my head a bit too hard than I have expected. Ow."

The memory flashed back to the moment when Yugi noticed the staircase was about to fall on top of Seto and the others before he quickly jumps out of Yami's arm, pushed them away before he ran back and tackled Yami to the ground.

"I think that head of yours need some medication after we get out of this hellhole."

Yugi just shrugged before standing up and offered Yami his hand. Taking it, he immediately checked over Yugi for any other injuries.

"How is it that you can still stand, right after you got shot from a bullet?"

"The bullet is small, but I was still losing blood at the time. I have to use my belt from flowing out too fast."

Yami nodded, before inspecting Yugi's back.

"You might get some bruises later on. You didn't have to shield me you now. Then you wouldn't have to get most of the damage after those rocks almost crushed us."

"Sorry. But it's actually my duty to protect civilians from danger. Especially you, consider the mess you seem to get yourself in. I don't even want to know how much trouble you must have caused in the past."

"That's not my doing, anyway. And besides, I don't always get in trouble. It's just my friend's pranks always tend to get me in trouble even though I didn't do anything."

"Aww~ Poor you. Maybe after this, I can treat you to my favorite ice-cream parlor for saving my life."

"Or me."

Yugi and Yami smirked before they heard, "Yami! Yugi! Oi!"

Yami cupped his hand around his mouth and shouted, "We're alright!". He accidently got some dust inside his lungs so he has to cough a little to get them out.

Yugi ripped his left sleeve before tightly tieing it around the wound on his arm as a bandage. Seeing that blood began to seep through it again. Yami stared a little at Yugi's pale, arm before he ripped both of his sleeves as well.

"We'll use this to cover our mouth and nose from the dust."

Yugi nodded before letting Yami tie the cloth around his mouth and nose, before waiting for Yami to finish his. After that, Yami shouted at the other side to go ahead of them, while they try to find another exit.

"Are you sure that's a good idea? The fire must have blocked all of the exits by now."

Yami hesitated, before calling back, "Don't worry about us."

"Yami! Use the door that we have pasted in the third staircase to get to the emergency elevator."

"Why didn't you say so in the first place!?"

"That's because the elevator could only hold two people! Now hurry up and get there already before-"

Seto wasn't able to finish his sentence before another rumble shook them. Causing another part of the staircase above Yugi and Yami to fall on top of them, before they quickly avoided the damage. By then, they couldn't even hear Seto or Heba's voice again.

"Now what?"

"Now, we run."

"Yugi! Yami! Hey!"

"It's no use. The last explosion caused some of the roof to collapse."

"Do you think they got out of there in time?"

"If I know my cousin better than anyone, then yes. I believe so."

Heba sighs before walking back and picking up the unconscious man that dare to sleep through this whole mess.

"It's all your f*cking fault for getting us into this mess," he muttered angrily before Seto took hold on the other side. Both of them continue on. Praying that Yugi and Yami will escape safely without any consequences.

Location: Outside of KC Corps.

The many firefighters and policemen surrounded the building that is caught in the fire, as the civilians watch from the sideline. A good amount of distance away from the tumbling pieces that are collapsing from the tower above.

Out of all the vehicles, two of them bring out the most attentions as Ryou, Joey, Malik, Bakura, and Atem came out of their car to inspect the scene before them. Ryou quickly close the door shut, before running towards the Inspector and his assistance.

"What's the situation, sir?"

"I got a call from one of the people who are trapped inside the building. There are five men. The president, the former, two civilians, and one agent."

"Where are they now, sir?"

"They are currently heading up to the roof. The firefighters can't go through the entrance because it's blocked. I have already called the helicopters but it'll take a while before they get here."

Ryou nodded grimly before staring up at the blazing flame that is burning in inferno red.

'Please be safe, Yugi.'
